Reviewer comments on business characteristics

It was Kangertech who was the first to create a hybrid sub-ohm clearomiser, the famous Subtank. It was airy and quite vaporous and above all it worked with Kangertech resistors, or with a removable rebuildable base. But, a few months later, Smok arrived on this new type of product with the TFV4. More aerial, its insane resistance brought clearomizers into the practice of cloud-chasing until then reserved for reconstructables.

The different TFVs (TFV4 TFV8 and TFV12) have established themselves as real references in the minds of vapers who love big vape, even if the escalation in the production of vapor does not always rhyme with good flavors.

The exotic proprietary resistances allowed those who did not dare to embark on the reconstructable “very sub-ohm”, to taste the exuberance of the extreme direct vape.

For this new version, the TFV12 Prince, we keep the same ingredients: very low resistance, optional rebuildable base, and we add to that a reservoir of 8ml. So, let's see if this Prince can impose himself as king of his category.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

The TFV12 Prince is a beautiful baby: 25 mm in diameter, 8 ml in capacity, 810 drip-tip, we can say that it is not in the lace.

Surprisingly, Smok has managed, thanks to a nice job on the design, not to make him a “big bastard”. From a general point of view, our Prince has an “oil lamp” aspect. I know, it's a little weird for comparison, but that's what inspires me its “bulb” tank and its 28 mm diameter which goes beyond the line defined by the top and bottom caps.

These last two are decorated with crown-type friezes cut in relief. The top-cap is topped with a superb drip-tip colored by patterns reminiscent of reptilian skin.

We also find in the pack a straight tank, more sober, 5ml that gives a look much less exuberant to our TFV12.

The base is open to the four winds thanks to two very generous airholes.

The manufacturing and materials are fully in line with the price positioning. It is clean and well done.

Our Prince is rather nice, his look is original, he is faithful to the lineage to which he belongs and the price / quality ratio seems good.

  • Minimum diameter in mms of the air regulation possible: 0.2

Reviewer's comments on functional features

The TFV 12 Prince presents itself as a clearomizer well in its time. It has all the necessary equipment for a good atomizer of its kind.

There is, of course, the filling function from above. One actuates a small rectangular button, and one releases the top of the top cap which pivots on an eccentric axis to reveal the filling hole.

There is also an airflow variation system. It takes the form of the traditional adjustment ring, the precision of which will not stand out… Indeed, even completely closed, the air passes. Maybe it's voluntary? Thus, even if after a reassembly you forget to re-open the airholes, you will not burn your resistance directly, you retain some leeway.

The “swollen” tank can contain 8 ml, which may not be too much in view of the powers indicated on the resistors supplied.

To conclude this item, I let you discover the different resistances available. It is the central and capital element which greatly contributes to the efficiency of our atomizer.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Type of attachment of the drip-tip: Owner only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Medium
  • Quality of the drip-tip present: Very good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The 810 drip tip is one of the Prince's distinctive visual elements. Its colored snakeskin-like coating is just beautiful. It catches the eye and, in addition, it sticks impeccably with the amount of vapor produced by our atomizer.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

We are on a very smok package.

A flexible cardboard sheath adorned with the Prince's photo superimposed on a royal crest, all in a confrontation of black and red. On the back, we find the description of the contents of the pack. The product authentication sticker will also be found on one side.

Inside, we find our atomizer wedged in the foam on the first floor. Under this first plate, we discover a second which contains two different resistances, a bag of seals and the 5ml tank.

To be more specific about the consumables provided in this pack, we will find:
- 1 V12 Prince Q4, quadruple coil at 0.4Ω
- 1 V12 Prince X6 sextuple coil at 0.15Ω
- 1 V12 Prince T10 a deca coil at 0.12Ω

At more than 4 € the resistance, it is an appreciable intention, pity that we lack the reconstructable base.

You will find a small user manual, but it is not translated. Again, I will say pity.

For an atomizer at forty euros, the presentation is very satisfactory despite the two “damages”.

Appreciations in use

  • Transport facilities with the mod of the test configuration: Ok for an external jacket pocket (no deformations)
  • Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Easy but requires a workspace
  • Filling facilities: Easy, even standing in the street
  • Easy to change coils: Easy but requires emptying the atomizer
  • Is it possible to use this product throughout the day with several vials of EJuice? Yes perfectly
  • Was there leak after one day of use? No
  • In the event of leaks during the tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occurred:

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

In use, our Prince is not capricious. The filling is done with great ease especially since, thanks to this swiveling top-cap, there is no risk of dropping it on the ground! Clumsy as I am, that's a serious argument.

He's not small but he's not a monster either. Associated with a box of reasonable dimensions, it will be transportable in a large jacket or coat pocket.

The 8 ml offer a proper autonomy, but you will still need a large bottle of juice, because our Prince with a light elbow and engulfs the liquid like an English beer.

Changing the resistance does not pose any problem, we disassemble the atomizer by unscrewing the top cap, and screw it on the base. A great and usual classic of the vape.

As for the flavors, I would say that we approach an RDTA. You can have variations in rendering, depending on the resistance chosen and the power. For my part, I opted for the T10 at 100W and, my faith, the result is quite conclusive.

The prince is positioned in a good average, it is simple and effective and it makes a maximum of steam, which is why it is done.

Recommendations for use

  • With which type of mod is it advisable to use this product? Electronics AND Mechanics
  • With which mod model is it advisable to use this product? Electro or mecha, but it has to send
  • With which type of EJuice is it advisable to use this product? All liquids without problem
  • Description of the test configuration used: T10 resistance, on 18650 double 100 and +
  • Description of the ideal configuration with this product: Your favorite of the three resistors, on an electronic box preferably capable of reaching 200 watts.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

The TFV series had run out of steam. Indeed, the TFV12 had certainly won the cloud race, but it was a little lost in terms of the restitution of flavors. Plus, her look was pretty bland. In short, it was the first failure of his family.

But the Prince seems to be doing much better.

Already, in terms of look, we will appreciate or not the kerosene lamp aspect but, at least, it will not leave indifferent. Me, personally, I like its overall design which does not show its imposing capacity. And then, you can always, if that does not suit you, replace the reservoir with that of 5ml, straight ahead.

The drip-tip catches the eye with its “cobra” decoration, it brings a touch of fantasy and a certain impertinence to our Prince.

The resistance offers good performance, you will necessarily find one to satisfy your vaporous appetites. But you will need a box that has a little under the foot to express the most complex resistances.

We will necessarily regret the absence of the rebuildable base in the pack, you will have to acquire it in addition. So I won't tell you what that gives, but it could bring a little more versatility to this cloud-machine.

This new TFV12 Prince is a worthy successor to the line, it does not manage to erase the competition but it sticks to the leading pack. A good choice, especially if you are sensitive to its special look. I will see it join my collection, but I have more space ...

Good vape
