Reviewer comments on business characteristics

Aspire in turn launches into the production of sub-ohm clearomizers including the option (not supplied in the box, and therefore not tested) of a tray to make personalized assemblies. For this test, the proprietary resistors supplied are those present at the time of purchase.

This atomizer with a capacity of 3,5ml is not very expensive and claims to compete with the now justly famous Kangertech Subtank. An arduous task, since in the package the latter contains the original replacement plate, you will have to pay a dozen euros to get the RTA System adapted to the Triton, which in the end makes it more expensive complete in comparison. Unfortunately, this is not the only difference in supply for this clearo, delivered without a spare tank and without instructions for use… ..

We are therefore going to find out what the Triton 1 offers… or proposed… I am speaking in the imperfect, since version 2 is already available at the time of this writing.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

I have in my hands a very nice atomizer, perfectly finished and of elaborate design.

The AFC is adjusted at the bottom near the 510 connection, by rotating a notched ring (on the outside) quite firmly attached to the bottom cap, no major concern of disturbances. Its ribs are 2 x 12mm x 1mm

newt-by-sucks

The Pyrex tank is inserted in an extension of the top cap (in 316L stainless steel), of which it is adjoining, it seems well protected and it is desirable because if it were to break, it is the whole of the upper part of the ato that you would need to replace.

The top cap is equipped with a complementary AFC which acts at the base of the drip tip to which it provides a possibility of ventilation. This air flow will add a volume of ambient air to the vapor produced, which will have the effect of cooling the entire material and vape.

Triton AFC drip tip

The filling is easy, you simply have to remove the drip tip and turn the 22 mm notched ring (outside / inside) to the appropriate position (there are only 2). The inside of the top cap then has 2 very practical open filling lights on the edge. To vape once the operation is finished, you position the ring by making its triangle coincide with the stylized drawing of a face in profile from which emanates a cloud no less stylized.

You can change the resistance of the tank loaded with juice, by unscrewing the latter drip tip directed downwards. Overall the quality is impeccable, the features are efficient and easy to handle.

Functional features

  • Connection type: 510
  • Adjustable positive plot? No, a flush mount can only be guaranteed through an adjustment of the positive pad of the battery or the mod on which it will be installed
  • Presence of air flow regulation? Yes, and variable
  • Diameter in mms maximum of the air regulation possible: 10
  • Minimum diameter in mms of the air regulation possible: 0.1
  • Positioning of the air regulation: Positioning of the air regulation adjustable effectively
  • Spray chamber type: Chimney type
  • Heat dissipation of the product: Normal

Reviewer's comments on functional features

The Triton has 2 low lateral AFCs, 1 mm wide by 12mm long, adjustable simultaneously from 0 to fully open (the protocol does not yet allow a value to be given beyond 10mm, hence this difference). The exchange capacity will however be determined by the vents in the resistance and the diameter of its outlet to the chimney. The useful volume capacity of the drip tip also depends on its outlet diameter at the level of the chimney, which is 6mm (I therefore do not count the additional opening which does not take into account the production of steam).

The proprietary resistance is therefore the centerpiece of your vape, it is unfortunately not "adjustable". The manufacturer has therefore calculated for us the air inlet capacity of the lights (for the AFC) and the chimney outlet according to the value of the incorporated resistance.

Triton 0,4 ohm

Triton 2 ohms

Regarding the additional supply of air by the drip tip, with the head of 1.8 ohms, it is in my opinion unnecessary, because what it does in all cases is a dilution of the flavors generated in the heating chamber, it is "mechanical" and inevitable.

We have seen the filling and vape positions, this system is clean, it is practical and does not suffer from any criticism from me because it accepts all forms of tips to do this and its closed position does not cause any leak, the atomizer turned over.

Here again, it is clear that the various moving or stationary parts are perfectly made on this atomizer and the efficiency of their use as well as the simplicity of handling are irreproachable.

The 23mm in diameter are effective taking into account the exceeding of the gripping notches of the AFC ring, the body of the atomizer is 22mm, as well as the base of the bottom cap. The total length of the triton is 69,5mm not including the 510 connection.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Drip tip type: 510 Only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Short with heat evacuation function
  • Quality of the present drip-tip: Good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The proprietary 2-part drip tip measures a total of 26,75mm in length, for an outside diameter in the mouth of 12mm. From the collar placed on the top cap at the base of the drip tip it is 5,5mm of striated metal (mini fins) as to provide an additional cooling surface, this part accommodates the short and smooth 510 drip tip: 11 mm.
Laterally the base is split horizontally to allow an optional air flow adjustable by rotation.
A very large mouthpiece which in fact only offers 6mm of useful diameter for pure vape.

Evaluation of the packaging

  • Presence of a box accompanying the product: Yes
  • Would you say that the packaging is up to the price of the product? Can do better
  • Presence of a user manual? No
  • Is the manual understandable for a non-English speaker? No
  • Does the manual explain ALL features? No

Vapelier's note on packaging: 1.5 / 5 1.5 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

The packaging is pale in comparison to the object on board, a transparent plastic box and its cover, a rigid gray post-formed housing in the shape of the ato, pierced on the back to receive the 2nd resistance. You have gone around the packaging. No explanatory leaflet, just a brief promotional description of the ato's functions and what the brand thinks about itself, all in English. This is a minimum packaging which should not be offered as is, because it does not meet the legal criteria in force, this lack of detailed instructions for use is a failure that future inspectors will not let pass, after in practice, constraints imposed by the TPD.

If Aspire wants to continue marketing its atomizers in Europe, importers, you know what you have to do.

Appreciations in use

  • Transport facilities with the mod of the test configuration: Ok for an external jacket pocket (no deformations)
  • Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Easy, even standing in the street, with a simple tissue paper
  • Filling facilities: Easy, even standing in the street
  • Facilities for changing resistances: Easy, even standing in the street
  • Is it possible to use this product throughout the day with several vials of EJuice? It will take a little juggling, but it is doable
  • Was there leak after one day of use? No
  • In the event of leaks during tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occurred

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 4.2 / 5 4.2 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

A first test with the 316 L stainless steel resistance at 0,4 ohm on the eVic mini 60W with a liquid in 20/80 turned out to be inconclusive, The vape is not tasty, the restitution of flavors even in a relatively vape tight is well below my expectations. Before the 40 W of power, the production of steam is also minimal, and beyond that it is necessary to use the higher AFC to cool it, which causes the dilution of the aerosol generated at the heating chamber.

Whatever the ato / mod settings that I was able to test the result is frankly not convincing.

With the head of 1,8 ohm (whose real value displayed by the eVic is 2,1 ohm) it's better, 10 W is enough to obtain a correct vape, in terms of vapor production, but still not Satisfactory in terms of rendering. The most significant settings at this resistance value reveal the uselessness of the upper AFC which I had to leave closed to maintain a seem of taste pleasure. Do not exceed 15W it is already a lot and it considerably affects the quality of the juice. The low AFC plays its role well and provides a range of vape between good production of vapor and a relative restitution of flavors.

This atomizer definitely didn't produce a noticeable performance, maybe I was expecting too much.

The coils playing a primordial role in this kind of clearomiser, it is also possible that Aspire designs better ones but, not having tested them, I cannot tell you more. There is a tray system accommodating a reconstructable head provided for the Triton, it would be desirable for it to allow assemblies more apt to provide a pleasant vape.

RTA SYSTEM Triton Aspire

If it is relatively easy to clean it with plenty of water, drying the tank will be more complicated. Disassembly prints are present on the lower part of the top cap / tank assembly, but I was unable to unscrew the 2 parts which together seem to form a housing for the pyrex and its “cover”. However, I have the impression that it is possible to disassemble this base if only to insert the tank. The apprehension of damaging this junction part to the plate slowed down my enthusiasm for dismantling, it may also be that this operation is reserved for Aspire service specialists…. (I'm joking).

Recommendations for use

  • With which type of mod is it advisable to use this product? Electronics AND Mechanics
  • Which mod model is it recommended to use this product with? mod or electro box
  • With which type of EJuice is it advisable to use this product? All liquids without problem
  • Description of the test configuration used: head at 0,4 and 2ohms, eVic VTC 60W
  • Description of the ideal configuration with this product: avoid the mech above 0,5 ohm, otherwise it is “as you want”

was the product liked by the reviewer: Bof, it's not the craze

Overall average of the Vapelier for this product: 3.9 / 5 3.9 5 out of stars

The mood ticket of the reviewer

To conclude this evaluation, objectively I remain mixed, even upset by the performance of the Triton. It is so well made, well designed and beautiful that it is frustrating. Not being particularly a collector of useful objects, and not really seeing the point of just admiring it, I will therefore do without this Triton because there are good atomizers for a similar price and very often less expensive. more capable of providing a vape that is both tasty and full of vapor.

Aspire must certainly offer coils better suited to the vape, which has become very sharp nowadays, because for the 2 that I was given to test, I could not obtain fully satisfactory settings.

If you have the opportunity to assemble a custom coil offering you a pleasant vape with this model (knowing that the V2 has already been released), take a few minutes to share your impression and experience, I remain convinced that this atomizer has a potential that is poorly exploited with these proprietary resistors, and that nothing beats the D system to get the most out of it.

But again, now that version 2 is available… is the game really worth the effort? If we offered it to you yes… if you have to acquire a new ato in the days to come, this first version is clearly to be avoided… unlike the Triton 2, the review of which is available here.

Thanks for reading me,

see you soon.
