Reviewer comments on business characteristics

In all industrial sectors, there are great family sagas. From the first generation of Golf to the last, that of past decades and yet still the same product, adapted it goes without saying, to the taste of the day.

It was therefore impossible for the vaping ecosystem to escape this phenomenon, especially when, like here, we are tackling an absolute bestseller, a legend in the field that interests us, the Nautilus.

Although variations already exist, the first Nautilus having given birth to a mini-Nautilus and a Nautilus X having emerged quite recently, it seemed unlikely that a version 2 was not under study. And here it is, to the delight of nostalgic, beginners and experienced people who have kept a strong penchant for indirect vaping.

Offered at 29.90 €, the Nautilus 2 is certainly not cheap, everything increases my good lady, and places it above its direct competitor, the Cubis Pro and other Veco Tank and similar references. But we will wait until the end of the test to define together if the price is justified in any way.

Using the good old BVC resistors expensive to the manufacturer and not too much to buy, the new kid ensures good backward compatibility and even allows to propose a new resistance in 0.7Ω, usable between 18 and 23W, which should complete the loop and probably allow an even more versatile use.

I'm looking forward to it !

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

Everything changes ! Gone are the guitar amp tube aesthetics so typical of the first version. Here we have a trendy clearomizer, cute and flattering to the eye, which nevertheless borrows a few curves from the first grind, as is the case for a very “mammary” top-cap which will undoubtedly awaken the instinct of the child or the pig that sleeps in us.

The Nautilus is available in two materials, stainless steel or anodized aluminum depending on whether your choice will be a raw or colored finish. In both cases, two eyecup-shaped windows will allow you to visualize the liquid level and above all to have a protection of the pyrex tank suitable for serene use. The clearo is available in four colors for the moment: raw, black, red and gray.

The anodized aluminum version, which I'm testing here in a gorgeous red, is stunningly soft to the touch that demonstrates a real effort that pays off to show off a perfect finish. Perfection found in threads and joints. Everything has been thought out here for real comfort and optimum reliability of use.

The stainless steel connection dispenses with an adjustable positive pin without this being a problem currently since a large majority of mods are natively equipped with a spring-loaded connection. The pine is all the same in brass.

So we have parts that are easy to disassemble. The drip-tip is held by a double seal on the top of the top-cap. The top-cap consists of a body which encompasses the entire top of the atomizer and which protects the internal pyrex tank. Which is detached from the base by pulling on it, held by a flexible but efficient O-ring. The base of the Nautilus 2 includes a location where the resistance can be easily screwed, the 510 connection and an airflow ring which we will detail below.

Functional features

  • Connection type: 510
  • Adjustable positive plot? No, a flush mount can only be guaranteed through an adjustment of the positive pad of the battery or the mod on which it will be installed
  • Presence of air flow regulation? Yes, and variable
  • Diameter in mm maximum of the air regulation possible: 2
  • Minimum diameter in mm of the air regulation possible: 0.8
  • Positioning of the air regulation: From below and benefiting the resistances
  • Spray chamber type: Chimney type
  • Heat dissipation of the product: Excellent

Reviewer's comments on functional features

The biggest novelty of this version 2, in addition to a new aesthetic, is to have redesigned the airflow to optimize it.

Here we have a classic rotating ring that reveals a series of five airholes. Ranging from 0.8 to 2mm in diameter, these therefore allow greater precision in the treatment of incoming air than before.

But not only. Even if the intention of the Nautilus is still to deliver a quality indirect vape (MTL), the ends have been extended, so as to allow a very tight vape, limit vapable, on one side and a relatively liberated vape on the other. . Be careful, we are not talking about airflow or direct inhalation here, but rather modulating the quiet vape, so as to best correspond to the expectations of consumers and allowing to accompany them in their discovery of the vape over a longer period. length of time.

The filling is easy. It requires unscrewing the bodywork element to access the tank. Once there, nothing could be simpler, it is wide open and all types of filling are possible, including directly with the bottle.

In terms of resistance, there will therefore be three possibilities. The first two are the best known in 1.8Ω and 1.5Ω, the same ones that many vapers have appreciated for years and the small last, in 0.7Ω, which will increase the power a little and go from 17W to 23W approximately to express the flavors more acutely over time.

It is visible that Aspire has thought carefully about its flagship product, also clearly identified the target customers and adapted the specifications accordingly to ensure even more pleasure, versatility and a better service life.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Drip tip type: 510 Only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Medium
  • Quality of the present drip-tip: Good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The drip-tip supplied is made of stainless steel with a polished finish. It has the advantage of working with all the colors offered and of being able, if necessary, to be replaced by another drip-tip 510.

I find the drip-tip perfectly suited to the situation, pleasant on the palate with its flared center that makes it natural in lips.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

The packaging is simple but complete. There is the Nautilus 2, a bag of spare gaskets, two resistors: the new 0.7 mounted and a 1.8 next to it as well as a spare pyrex tank.

All this fits in a very small box which does not look like much but turns out rather adapted too. A multilingual notice, including French, succinct but sufficient, brilliantly completes an honorable packaging.

Appreciations in use

  • Transport facilities with mod of test configuration: Ok for an inside jacket pocket (no deformations)
  • Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
  • Filling facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
  • Easy to change coils: Easy but requires emptying the atomizer
  • Is it possible to use this product throughout the day with several vials of EJuice? Yes perfectly
  • Was there leak after one day of use? No
  • In the event of leaks during the tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occur:

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

We are the taste! To paraphrase this famous slogan, this is precisely the niche that Aspire has decided to occupy with the Nautilus 2. Indeed, the flavors are flattering, the e-liquids are well transcribed in their difference and the clearomizer here reinforces its pole position. in the matter. Whether with the resistance in 1.8Ω or that in 0.7Ω, the impression continues and, if we gain a little volume of vapor with the new resistance and increased power, we do not lose flavors, on the contrary !

The airflow is extremely precise in its adjustment and the differentiation between the proposed positions is clearly perceptible. It is quite possible to imagine that a first-time vapoteur will be able to use the first three positions with the resistance in 1.8Ω (or 1.5Ω) at the start of his journey then, as he progresses, switch to the resistance in 0.7Ω, increase the power and position all the airholes open. It is in this sense that the Nautilus 2 is unique, it will be able to accompany the path of a beginner vapoteur during his training and, then, it will be perfectly suitable for enlightened amateurs of quiet vape in MTL in all their life of vape if they do not express the need to switch to reconstructable atomizers.

The change in resistance will involve emptying the tank, which is no big deal, and the liquid autonomy is quite correct despite the relative smallness of the container.

Recommendations for use

  • What type of mod is it advisable to use this product with? Electronic
  • With which mod model is it advisable to use this product? A mini box of 25W minimum
  • What type of EJuice is it recommended to use this product with? I do not recommend it for 100% VG liquids
  • Description of the test configuration used: Istick Pico. Different liquids of different viscosities.
  • Description of the ideal configuration with this product: What suits you best. The Istick Pico goes quite well with the Nautilus 2.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

To pass after a bestseller like the first Nautilus of the name, it really took a lot of work and adequate thinking to ensure offspring without making mistakes. It is quite successful with this number 2 which bodes a bright future for the Aspire family.

The Nautilus 2 is the typical clearomiser that you can recommend with your eyes closed to your acquaintances who want to stop smoking. Reliable, flattering in taste, scalable and tight, it is a top in the genre, well beyond a Cubis Pro for example compared to the target audience.

Likewise, it will perfectly satisfy the confirmed vapers who prefer the indirect vape to the direct vape by its ease of use, its average consumption and the quality of its construction.

In this sense and to answer the initial question, the price is very much justified.

The king is dead. Long live the king !
