Between a Nautilus X which is working to bring up to date the franchise that allowed Aspire to establish itself in the world of vaping and the Atlantis eVo, we are witnessing the great return of a great who had, in recent months, been more concerned with surfing on its achievements than really innovating.
Between an Atlantis declined in several versions which had conquered the clouders but not really the flavor-chasers and a Triton which was, as its name suggests, three tones below the capacities of the manufacturer to surprise us, some were not expensive. the future of the brand. It was not knowing her well.
Today we are going to take a look at a new clearomizer, the Atlantis eVo. Aspire thus renews with the bases which allowed it to become known and offers us an atomizer with proprietary resistances, available in two sizes corresponding to two volumes of liquid: 2ml and 4ml. We will therefore see the mini version, in 2ml.
Offered at a price of € 20.90, the deal seems very good, especially since the eVo looks good. But what is behind such a generous offer? Anatomy of a future bestseller (?) ...

Small, almost slender and therefore very cute, the eVo is more Yorkshire style than Danish. It is easy to imagine him delicately landing on a mini mod like the mini-Volt, the Evic Basic or the Elfin 60 for a set-up that could appeal to the fairer sex but also any vaper wishing to facilitate the carrying of his equipment throughout his working day without conveying a monster.
Made of stainless steel, it is available in a “natural” or black version. It has three very distinct parts and I emphasize that word because while any atomizer looks like every other, we are reaching the pinnacle here when it comes to structural simplification.
The bottom part, which is screwed onto your mod by its non-adjustable 510 connection and that the Anglo-Saxons call bottom-cap, is intended to accommodate a proprietary resistance via a screw thread. But it also makes it possible to modulate the airflow by a ring dedicated to this effect and four oblong holes which bode well for a good capacity to convey the flow. The handling of the ring is easy and facilitated by a good sliding even if, in the black test version, it is difficult to see at what level of opening we are.
The middle part, in pyrex, serves as a liquid reservoir (or tank). The walls are quite thick and suggest that it will not break under the pressure of your fingers when cleaning. As for any falls, it's pyrex so… bling! But we will see later that Aspire offers a solution far from being stupid. The material used makes it possible to put liquids based on citrus menthol, coca or cinnamon, finally all its flavors known to start or break a PMMA tank.
The upper part, or top-cap, has three parts. A flat steel piece that screws directly onto the top of the resistance. A removable proprietary drip-tip part which includes a 22mm plate surmounted by the supplied drip-tip, all in delrin it seems to me as well as a silicone cap which, once installed, encompasses the entire top-cap . Why ? Well, this is the famous solution proposed by Aspire to ensure the protection of the pyrex in the event of a fall. On paper, the idea holds. In real life, I don't know. The equipment being loaned, I am not going to have fun throwing the ato out the window to see if it breaks or if it bounces. Let's say that given the thickness of the material and its relief in relation to the pyrex wall, I remain cautious. Try it at home or, better yet, with a friend's eVo for the test, and don't forget to post a comment following this review to let us know the results of your crash test.
It remains to speak of the resistance provided. Both are mounted in Clapton coil and cotton. The first displays 0.4Ω, the second 0.5Ω. They are massive and qualitative. You will tell me that the difference in resistance is small. I grant you that, but we'll see later that the rendering is totally different.
The overall quality is very correct. We do not have a large volume of material or an exceptional finish but the construction is serious, we feel that Aspire wanted to hunt for weight so as to be able to integrate this element into the constitution of your set-up. It is well done, well machined. For a price of 20 balls, it's even very good.

To paraphrase a sketch known to the Unknowns: “the bad ato, you screw it on your mod and you vape. The good ato, you screw it on your mod and .. you vape. ”.
No need to hunt for features on the eVo. Everything is extremely simplified to appeal to vapers who want to vape well in plug & play. The resistance screwed on the top-cap? Check! The top-cap screwed on the resistance? Check! The liquid in the tank? Check! Do you want to buy it? Check!
For filling, simply remove the top-cap as a whole and fill easily through the gaping holes since access to the tank is total.
The airflow adjustment, as we have seen, is very simple and is done in a snap.
The rest is literature, we will save ink… 😉

The drip-tip supplied is therefore very specific since it includes a plate covering the steel part of the top-cap and, integrally, the mouthpiece. I imagine that the manufacturer wanted to avoid too high temperatures on our poor lips and the goal is reached. Of course, don't expect absolute zero, the room will heat up if you chain-steam like a locomotive, but it falls short of many other devices.
You have the option of putting your favorite drip-tip instead of the basic one. But at this time, you also deprive yourself of the presence of the joint plate which insulates from the heat. I tried, it holds, it vape but, between us, it is not worth the original.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
A black cardboard box, equipped with a magnetic cover, presents the eVo coming out of the cradle. It also contains a spare pyrex and two resistors. The set is effective and allows you to taste the joys of the atomizer without further delay.
The instructions are included on the hood flap. It is basic but has the important elements in the form of pictures. It is not a panacea but, given the price and the simplicity of the object, it is sufficient.

This is where Aspire hits a big blow!
Equipped with 0.4Ω resistance, the eVo is a steam generator that would have delighted Denis Papin himself! This resistance, equipped with large airflow, gives full meaning to the production of clouds while maintaining a particularly pleasant quality of flavor. We are far from the wanderings of the Triton in this area. Here, the flavors are right, expressed with power and, since we are talking about power, you can walk around 50W with a rendering that some RTAs do not have.
With the resistance in 0.5Ω, the beast calms down, so to speak. This resistance is equipped with a tighter airflow and therefore turns more towards the concentration of aromas. Be careful though, it is not a question of ignoring the volume of steam which remains very substantial. Efficient between 35 and 40W, as described by the manufacturer himself, it saturates the flavors and we take full in the mouth.
Astonishing this profoundly marked difference between an airy, vaporous rendering but which does not ignore the taste and a more felted rendering, saturated with aroma and which does not ignore the vapor. In any case, the duo is very successful and you will have the choice.
A downside however, unfortunately inherent in many clearomizers, the 0.4Ω resistance loosely dropped after an hour, putting itself in short circuit. The luck was minimal but it fell on me, of course. However, I invite you to immediately check your resistors to verify that they are working properly.
Otherwise, the picture is charming. No leaks, easy filling, minimal weight, it's the perfect allday ato, for those moments of life when you don't have time to think “coil and cotton”. Of course, Clapton en kanthal oblige, forget the temperature control and think of feeding it often because it drinks like a hole!

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Atlantis eVo is an excellent surprise, especially when we had remained, like me, on a mixed record of the last Aspire productions. The manufacturer has returned to the basics and the result is immediately noticeable: taste, vapor, ease of operation, significant airflow but not spoiling the flavors, it is an extremely positive result.
If we add to that a modest price, we probably have the future darling of vapers. And it's nice to see the return of a big market player. The resistances have indeed reached the level rendered, sufficiently different to be justified. The factory Clapton assembly is perfect and there is no diesel effect. It vapes well, immediately and with class.
Of course, it is not made for first-time vapers who will rather turn to the Nautilus X but it will amaze many confirmed!
I give it a Top Ato for its balanced rendering, its small size and its price. This is the least we can do to welcome the arrival on the market of a clearo that will mess up the current hierarchy in this area!
