The Taifun GT II Air is the improved version of its predecessor, the famous Taifun GT II. A particularly well-groomed style with a beautiful new drip-tip, twice as many airholes as the old version is four openings on the base, while maintaining unmatched flavors in single coil with a reserve of unchanged liquid 5ml and a diameter for the atomizer of 23mm.
The two versions are compatible but I regret a little that the changes are not more extensive, especially for the airhole (management of the air inlet) located on the base and the studs which remain identical.
The quality is there, and for the price it was better, because apart from the aesthetics, the changes did not appear to me substantial.

The Taifun GT II Air looks great, made of stainless steel for a finely brushed finish.
Each part is relatively well supplied in material, which makes the atomizer a bit heavy, but particularly solid. Its tank is built with staggered windows which leave a great visibility on the liquid and which, at the same time, perfectly protects the pyrex.
The borosilicate glass tank gives a translucent appearance but it is completely transparent when filled with juice.
The finishes are absolutely sublime, a pleasant touch, not a trace of tools, a perfect polish and threads that work very well.
The seals are well chosen, but watch out for the one on the top-cap. As with the previous version, it tends to slide easily or get lodged in the wrong place. Before closing this top, take care to make sure it is in place.
On the top-cap and on the airflow adjustment, the steel forms a slip-resistant ring which makes the setting of the screwing and unscrewing very easy and practical.
The plate remains the same with a central hole under the resistance for the airhole which remains unchanged with a diameter of 3mm. Raised, it thus prevents having liquid leaking on the thread when it flows on the plate. This airhole can be reduced with the reducer, a kind of plastic tube, supplied with additional seals.
The pads are basic but effective without "wirehole" holes, the resistive wire is fixed directly under the clamping screw with a Phillips screwdriver, which leaves no room for a second resistance. The only one possible will be positioned between the two studs for a maximum diameter of 2,5mm.

Reviewer's comments on functional features
The main characteristics of the Taifun GT II Air are its simplicity in single coil and the reproduction of particularly delicious flavors, in a beautiful vapor.
This atomizer also has the particularity of being silent and, with each suction, it is a thick and dense vapor which is taken in full to restore beautiful consistent clouds. The chamber perfectly confines the steam to concentrate it without it being able to escape elsewhere than through the chimney. It's really typical of the Taifun series.
In addition, this does not allow either to have large extravagant sub-ohm assemblies since the airhole under the resistance limits its value, despite the openings which have been added to the base by four ramps of five holes each. The wisest thing, in my opinion, would have been to also increase that of the plateau, because even if I was able to carry out during this test, a comparison between the old version kept and the new one, the flow is not really much more airy, the difference is not clear, just slight.
The filling is also very simple and the tank can be filled to the bottle by tilting the bottle on the edge of the tank. The capacity is great with 5ml of e-liquid which gives a good autonomy provided to position well its wick (see the part "use of the product"). Thus the assembly is accessible without the need to empty the tank.
For the 510 connection, there is not much improvement either since the pin screw does not protrude enough to make contact, but rest assured, this screw is long enough to be adjusted correctly and thus ensure perfect contact.
The engravings made are very beautiful on the drip-tip and on the base of the atomizer with its name and the serial number. A unique piece, superbly engraved.

This drip-tip is impeccably designed.
Although its fixation is in 510, the base is really very wide with a diameter of 18mm for a mouth opening of 15mm. But the internal diameter of the opening remains reasonable with only 6mm. A drip-tip that looks like a drip-top in stainless steel with a laser engraving on its absolutely perfect base, in the name of the atomizer: "Taifun".
Despite an extraordinary width, its grip in the mouth is comfortable and gives a visual appearance of the whole rather massive and harmonious.
Great success for the aesthetics of this piece, also very solid.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
A packaging that looks very pretty but is not up to a luxury product.
In a beautiful wooden box, a little straw has been added to hold the atomizer and the bag of accessories.
A card offers to verify the authenticity of the product with a serial number on the manufacturer's website, but no instructions are provided.
However, the Taifun have often debated how to position the wick (nest of cotton, outside, length ...), it would have been useful to know the opinion of its designer and his possible advice for example.
So, for this luxury product, you will have this beautiful box with:
- The atomizer
- 9 seals
- A central airhole reducer
- And a certificate of authenticity
For the price, I expected more, it's a little disappointing.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
The Taifun GTII Air's top is really very clean, so assembly is very easy to achieve in monocoil. The pads are not provided with holes and the resistive wires will be attached directly to the clamping screw which is wide enough to hold a 0.5mm wire without any problem. The space between the pads is limited, the internal diameter of your resistance cannot therefore exceed 2,5mm for large resistive.
The bell which is placed on this plate is formed by a ring which is posed simply, taking care not to push it all the way in or risk a short circuit, with the thickness of the wire which decreases the space between it. and the cap which will be screwed on and which risks touching it, or both studs at the same time. If this ring is fully inserted, the chimney will not join the bell when the atomizer is mounted.
On the ring, there are two notches which allow to feed the wick, depending on the value of the resistance, the power applied, and the VG content of your juice, it will be necessary to screw more or less the cap of this ring, which will allow adjustment of the liquid inlet flow.
The wick, it can be placed in different ways, in zigzag cotton nest or, that seems to me the most logical, by placing it on the notches and leave it along the ring to fully enjoy the 5ml without risking the drying of the wick when there is only 1ml left. Be careful not to over tighten the cap so that the capillarity is done well.
For my test I used a thick 0.5mm Kanthal on a 2.5mm diameter holder for 8 turns, I get a 0.78Ω resistor. With a power of 25W I have a big steam production and a really good flavor. In the mouth, this vapor is consistent and very pleasant.
The assembly and simple to achieve. However, at 0.8Ω, we are not far from the limit of this atomizer because even if the airflow was very slightly enlarged on the base, in the decompression chamber, the airhole him, did not move and the air flow, although air, still remains a little limited.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The use of this product in single coil is very easy and is perfect for all vapers wanting to acquire a high quality atomizer, but we must not forget that the template is imposing with a significant weight of 101gr.
This Taifun GT II Air does not change much from its previous version in terms of vapor and flavors which remain exceptionally good. No big change either in the airflow, which is barely more airy, which I regret.
I think a second ring could have been provided, with two additional notches and holes on the studs to make a double coil assembly. Thus on the plateau a larger airhole would offer a large suction more consistent with the openings proposed on the base, but that's just a wish for the next (it will also enlarge the pull diameter of the drip tip of the shot).
Its look is magnificent, massive, but with a very high class.The Taifun is equipped with a sublime drip-tip which finishes this atomizer perfectly. Good autonomy is offered with this capacity of 5ml. The 23mm diameter will require a mod for its size.
I must admit that its price is high but the quality is irreproachable with an excellent vape.
