In line with the commercial successes of atomizers, we can easily name the Mini Goblin, whatever its version. Small, muscular, he arrived one fine morning saying to the others: “you, the big one, I am going to put your race on you, you are not going to take what is happening to you”. And indeed, the big more expensive and more “hype” atos had to bow to a new kid with a big mouth, a double-coil, a demonic power and a beautiful accuracy of the flavors.

Afterwards, we know what happened ... Strong but irascible, Sir Goblin could not bear to be treated lightly, he wanted us to take care of him. And go ahead and I trim your cotton mustache, go ahead and wipe your buttocks after a “leaky” incident, in short, operational hazards that divided the most conquered into two clans: the pro and the anti. Old story ...  

Nevertheless, the fellow had created a niche on his own and competition was not long in rushing into the crack. Without dethroning the monarch who continued to reign as an enlightened despot (under tension exclusively).

Eleaf arrives today with an atomizer that could be a game-changer: the Oppo. Well, we agree, the name palindrome is not necessarily chosen judiciously and opens the field to a panel of questionable jokes which I will spare you. Double-coil, attractive physiognomy and very close to the Illustrated, Velocity-like plateau, some good arguments to be made in the duel which promises to be tight from the start. The Oppo does not count figuration, let the Mini Goblin tell itself!

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

Small, light, ordinary. Here are the three qualifiers that come to mind when looking at the Oppo for the first time. With its usable volume of 2ml, the atomizer can afford to shamelessly sit on the smallest mods on the market. Of course, with a mandatory double-coil assembly and a thirst for power like his, the tank will last less than that of a Bugatti Veyron at 400km / h. But that's okay, it's the price to pay in this category, whatever the ato. 

The Oppo is made all of steel and pyrex. Without benefiting from an exceptional construction, it appears correctly finished and the basic mechanical manipulations do not pose any problem: screwing and unscrewing, adjustment of the airflow ring, assembly without “guillotine” effect of the resistive… everything goes smoothly. possible conditions.

Available in black or in a steel finish, its aesthetics will not revolutionize the category and we see that the manufacturer has rather worked on a good atomizer than a beautiful atomizer. Without being repulsive either, far from it, he is content to juggle with the established codes of the genre. Strictly speaking, it does not have any characteristics likely to make it stand out from the crowd. 

Its 510 connection is not adjustable, a drawback which is now overcome by the happy multiplication of spring-loaded connections in most mods. The airflow is wide and bodes well for an air draft, necessary to ventilate the two coils that you will install and, incidentally, to send steam.

The top-cap unscrews for filling and we have access to gaping holes. So no problem for pipette filling. On the other hand, to intervene on the assembly, it will first be necessary to empty the tank because the pyrex is held by the top and the bottom. If you unscrew the bottom, the pyrex is the trunk. You just need to know it. I still tested by firmly holding the pyrex but I do not recommend it because the dry cleaners are not cheap. 

The pyrex looks quite strong and thick. And that's pretty good because it does not benefit from any protection. So be careful because the manufacturer has not provided a spare tank. On the other hand, you are provided in the packaging with a silicone ring to place around the pyrex and thus avoid the announced disaster. The one in my set is a beautiful parrot green color, that's not yet how I'm going to pick up the next vaporizer ... 

All in all, a real quality of execution, in line with its price range and the competition, nothing more.

The mounting plate consists of a Velocity-type gantry with four large-sized holes which lets you glimpse the possibility of basic and exotic mounting. The size in itself is comfortable for work but there is a constraint to take into account: the proximity of the walls of the bell which can considerably hamper the assembly of coils of large diameters. As with the Mini Goblin ... 

Four plunge holes surround the plate. This is where you will put the ends of your hairline. Be careful, as usual, not to exaggerate the volume of material in this place even if it is much more accommodating than others in the category.

The airholes are traditionally located under the resistances and I could only note that the liquid does not flow into them, which is always that. The air intakes are wide, slit-shaped and they are therefore closed by rotating the dedicated ring. 

The bell is secured to a part of the top-cap and is therefore screwed onto the plate itself, ensuring at the same time the necessary compression of the pyrex on the upper and lower seals which work efficiently. As the cotton is not guided and does not benefit from any particular protection, one must be careful, once again, not to overdose the cotton in this place in order to leave room for a quiet screwing.

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The drip-tip is delrin surrounded by a thin layer of steel. This is to avoid too high a temperature at the lips. The addition of steel being a happy attempt to harmonize the drip-tip with the rest of the body.

It is therefore a fairly standard 510 drip-tip, wide on the outside but with standardized ribs on the inside (510 requires). However, it is quite suitable for the use of the atomizer.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

A white cardboard box contains the atomizer, a leaflet that will spin buttons for allergic to the English language, a bag containing an allen key and two pre-formed Clapton coils, another bag containing a cotton pad and the famous green silicone ring.

I would have appreciated enough the presence of two spare screws for mounting the coils in case ... I can only notice the absence, too bad, especially for the price that it costs.

Appreciations in use

• Transport facilities with mod of test configuration: Ok for an inside jacket pocket (no deformations)
• Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Easy, even standing in the street, with a simple tissue paper
• Filling facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
• Easy to change coils: Easy but requires emptying the atomizer

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

First sticking point: editing. Even if the space is not too small to work, it is definitely limiting for large assemblies.

On single-strand resistive wire, you can try diameters of 3mm but on multi-strand, I do not recommend going beyond 2.5mm. The place between the coils and the wall of the bell is definitely too narrow to remain calm about the possibility of short circuits. I mounted the coils provided in the pack which are clapton 3mm in diameter, I bit my tongue so as not to blaspheme! After a few attempts, I managed to place them but it is still very limited. Plus the result is appallingly diesel, I think you can get a lot more responsive using a thinner, 2.5mm shot clapton.

Mounted in 0.50 kanthal 3mm, things are naturally better. We take a little more fishing and latency is much less important. In 2.5mm with the same thread, it is even better and, icing on the cake, cotton becomes less difficult to dose in the holes of diving.

If the crucial points of this test are to be remembered, they are the following:

• In terms of the restitution of flavors, we are very good, largely at the level of the Mini Goblin and above a few other competitors. The rendering is undoubtedly of a very good level in terms of taste.
• The draw is airy, very pleasant and not upset, we develop a beautiful vapor, very dense and white which has a nice “chew” in the mouth.
• The atomizer does not leak! And there is the great positive point which clearly illustrates its model. Less capricious, not distilling dry-hits if you have correctly dosed the capillary, you just have to respect the basic rules by closing the airflow when filling (and again, it is more out of habit ...). But at no time during this test day did the Oppo leak. Not the slightest drop! Proof by example that we can make a good mini atomizer without necessarily having to be a “pain in the ass” to adjust to prevent it from leaking.

With the appropriate assembly, the Oppo gladly accepts to go up in the towers and I found it very efficient on single-strand in this case because the internal heating is still less than with Clapton. Speaking of heaters, the heat dissipation is okay. Of course, if you send it 200W in the kanthal, you risk a little heat all the same. But at powers between 35 to 55W depending on your resistances, he holds up, the runt! All you have to do is provide a tank of juice to feed it. 

About liquid, it passes all without problem, even the most viscous juices.

In terms of use, we are still on an excellent atomizer in the mini category. For Goblin enthusiasts, you may well have found the future replacement for your Precious. “Try me, try me, he whispers”. No fallback possible, it's that you the Oppo is! (This animal joke will not make me enter the Academy, I'm aware of it ...).

The mood ticket of the reviewer

A great surprise. This is what the Oppo is. 

Not at the level of its aesthetics after all agreed. Not at the level of its construction or its finish which, without detriment, remains in the spirit of the price category. Not at the level of the assembly, very widespread, which has all in all the same advantages and disadvantages as the Mini Goblin.

No, it is at the level of a problem-free use that the Oppo imposes itself naturally. Without leaks, it ensures a vape in all peace of mind and that is not nothing. Its rendering is up to this and will not disappoint aficionados of little bullies who send but who have flavor to spare.

For around thirty euros, we can therefore afford an efficient, powerful and tasty double-coil atomizer that does not suffer from any major defect. UD has some worries ...
