Reviewer comments on business characteristics

Extract from Ijoy's catalog, here is the Tornado; a tank dripper capable of a vape ranging from 30 to 300 watts. More regularly called RDTA by geeks, it is to them that this product is addressed which lets us predict huge clouds. Of course this type of material belongs to the category of sub-ohm atomizers.

With a diameter of 24 mm, it is designed to go on large Reuleaux or other style mods, capable of sending very heavy power.

Comes with a mounting plate that can accommodate 4 coils, know that it is possible to buy an accessory model sexto-coils. Yes, yes, 6 coils, you read that right!

This dripper tank is available in steel or black finish.

Tornado_Ijoy_2

This Tornado is beautiful work. It's manufactured with care, it's well thought out overall, proof that the entry-level price often means nothing when it comes to manufacturing made in Shenzen.

Everything is massive on this atomizer and it is better to see the promises to keep. In the immediate term, it is above all a guarantee of easy assembly - although it depends a lot on what you are going to do - with a work surface and workstations that free up space. 17,8 mm diameter for the Velocity deck with 2 mm holes for the passage of large resistives. The juice arrivals are massive (5 mm) and are located just under the coils. Of course, the airholes are to match with 15mm for each of the two lights.

I found the Pyrex of the tank of a nice thickness rather reassuring and the different threads or O-rings of beautiful bills as well.

On the other hand, I have a little more reserve as to the resistance of the joints with the tank because there is no housing provided as well as an average quality of the studs screws but nevertheless conforms to most atos equipped with the famous hexagonal. At this mini-mini size, it is quite rare to have screws which withstand many assemblies without becoming rounded and becoming inoperative. Personally, I dread them a little.

Given the measurement of the animal, I'm no more surprised by the announced capacity of 5ml tank, predicting that this RDTA must suck as a drink without thirst.

Functional features

  • Presence of air flow regulation? Yes, and variable
  • Diameter in mms maximum of the air regulation possible: 10
  • Minimum diameter in mms of the air regulation possible: 0.1
  • Positioning of the air regulation: Positioning of the air regulation adjustable effectively
  • Atomization chamber type: Bell type
  • Heat dissipation of the product: Low

Reviewer's comments on functional features

Like the majority of atomizers for this year 2016, the Tornado benefits from top filling. The system is quite well thought out and allows a simplified and leak-free refueling of juice. Without leaks, if beforehand, of course, you have properly closed the airholes and if you have correctly dosed your capillary ... otherwise, it's swimming!

Tornado_Ijoy_3

As indicated in the previous chapter, the velocity board is quite practical and allows a multitude of montages.

In double coil no problem, it's wide. Be careful, however, with Clapton type resistive or other complex wires if you are working on axes of 3 mm in diameter. In spaced turns, it quickly touches the walls of the bell.

In quad coils, we will say that it is thinner and that only the initiated will master the matter.

Tornado_Ijoy_4
As for the 6-station deck available as an accessory, I haven't tried it but I can imagine that we place the cursor a little higher still.

Also note a gold plated pin to ensure good conductivity.

The 2 airholes are large and well sized for a consequent airflow, the juice supplies just as substantial. It is better because I dare not imagine a dry hit with unspeakable power that can be collected for this RDTA.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Type of drip-tip attachment: Owner but passage to 510 through a supplied adapter
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Short
  • Quality of the drip-tip present: Very good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

A large-caliber proprietary tapered drip tip on a sub-ohm atomizer, is no surprise. The diameter is substantial (13 mm) and the Delrin isolates us from the calories released.

An 510 adapter is nevertheless provided even if I do not see too much use because any other thinner drip-tip will only reduce the foggy capacity of the beast. Indeed, the diameter of the chimney is flush with the proprietary drip-tip so apart from throttling the flow of steam ...

In my opinion, its only flaw is that it is a bit short, so be careful of contact with the lips when the Tornado has released its calories.

Vapelier's note on packaging: 2 / 5 2 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

In this chapter, the Tornado pays cash for the absence of any instructions.

It is all the more unfortunate that the whole is well packaged, in flattering packaging and which is not ridiculous in this price range.

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 3.7 / 5 3.7 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

The use of this product does not pose any particular problem but the Tornado still requires a little experience in the dosage and the installation of the capillaries as well as in the techniques of realization of coils. With the usual precautions, there will be no leaks. On the other hand, you will not be immune to some oozing, probably resulting from condensation at a high power level.

The 5 ml are not too much seen the voracity of the beast. Once the tank emptied cleaning is easy.

24 mm diameter and 5 ml of capacity go together with a nice size atomizer. The Tornado is impressive but given his nice look I do not think his exhibition embarrasses you. Anyway, with the clouds that you will provoke, you will not do in the discretion.

Important point for this type of atomizer, I did not have the slightest dry-hit during the weeks I used it for this evaluation. It is rather reassuring.

I also did not take it to the top of its range of use. I used the Tornado in dual and quad coils, so I think it is necessary to have the 6-coil deck to go to the beast's limits.

To conclude this chapter, I find that the restitution of flavors is quite correct for this kind of material. If atomizers of this caliber are designed to siphon off 100% VG, I found that even on 50/50 it did not do badly at all.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

The Tornado is really the atomizer of cloud chasers, in these conditions there is not much to complain about and I even find that it does the job particularly well.

I did not go up to 300W to check if the promise was kept but I trust Ijoy for that.

Anyway, in real life, I don't really see the use of it knowing that few mods are able to keep up, that the capillaries are not intended for these extreme uses, that the juices in these conditions lose flavor and finesse ... And then, given the temperature of the machine ... it's funny for 4 or 5 puffs but after that I find it quickly boring.

On the other hand, I found it nice to be able to vape in the 100W zone, knowing that this zone had to be “comfortable” for the Tornado.

Unfortunately, today, the race for power is in full development and this is normal for recent technology like ours. She gives us her pubescent crisis, searches for herself and explores all areas a little.

On the other hand, behind each piece of equipment sold, there is not necessarily a professional who takes on the task of explaining and training new users. It is not uncommon to hear or see first-time vapers attracted primarily by this race for watts and bigger clouds, ignoring the risks inherent in the misuse of the personal vaporizer. The mission is not to scare but neophytes must still know that in the event of a problem, they can be serious ...

I'm playing my dad with this afterword, but I think it's our responsibility, we elders, geeks and other concerned individuals of all kinds, to warn.

The Tornado is a nice ato, safe, made for the cloud. But it is intended for high powers that can be delivered by some very rare mods. These mods require the use of reliable batteries with exceptional capacities and all in perfect condition.

To keep it simple and colorful. Tomorrow I suggest you beat the land speed record on the Bonneville salt lake (Utah, States). I don't think you go in shorts and flip flops ...

Good thinking and see you soon in new hazy adventures.

About the Author

Follower of the tobacco vape and rather "tight" I do not balk in front of good greedy clouders. I love flavor-oriented drippers but am very curious about the evolutions of our common passion for personal vaporizers. Good reasons to make my modest contribution here, no?
