Ijoy has released a modulating atomizer, the RDTA Combo. It adapts to various trays and accessories, it also adopts a base NOT SUPPLIED in the box, to transform it totally in dripper.
This imposing template atomizer, has a nice look that is also editable, with a diameter of 25mm for a given tank 6,5ml. It is proposed in a black and gold color.
The mounting possibilities are achievable in single or double coil with the chamber reducer, depending on the plate, your taste preferences or the desire to send a big vapor. It remains fully versatile to adapt to your choices.
In this kit is also proposed a micro coil plate in 0.3Ω equipped with two resistors in stainless steel 316L it seems to me and the capillary (this one is disposable), already mounted that it only remains to screw on The reservoir. Because this atomizer is of the Genesis type with the tank positioned under the plate, however, the assemblies in mesh (“fabric” of woven steel) will not be possible.
Ijoy thought of everything, for the filling a wide opening under the base allows to feed the tank without necessarily needing a syringe, a pipette will do very well, it is enough to take the course to access .
While this combo is interesting but to move from one tray to another, several manipulations are needed, such as emptying his tank and remove the screw connection 510.
However, for € 39,90 it's still a good deal if you find your vaping side relevant, but I have no doubts.

The RDTA Combo is mainly made of stainless steel, the base, the cap and the top-cap are covered with a slightly glossy black anodized paint. At the center of the atomizer a brass ring is used to fill the tank and allows the cap to fit on while leaving a golden part apparent on the outside of the ato. The top-cap is in two parts that screw together, the bottom one allows the adjustment of the airflow and the top is interchangeable to use the drip-top or the top-cap adapted to drip-tip connection 510 .
The cap has two air holes on each side which offer a very wide opening of 17x 2mm (x2) adjustable with the top. A large silkscreen in the shape of a silver escutcheon embellishes and brings an aristocratic touch to the product.
The pin is a 25mm long gold-plated screw which serves as a hold between the plate, the filling ring and the base, while ensuring by tightening, the tightness of the tank and the adjustment of the pin if necessary. The conductivity is done perfectly well, the gold plating prevents oxidation.
The tank is not very large with these 15mm, taking into account the diameter of the ato. Its thickness of 1.5mm ensures a relative solidity which associated with its low position on the atomizer, considerably limits the unfortunate consequences of possible shocks.
The machining of each piece is well executed, only the cap seems to me a little thin and lack of material. However the different parts between them fit together perfectly and ensure a good maintenance, as the threads that are perfect and screw without worry.
The filling takes place through the opening located on the central ring, it is done laterally and does not necessarily require a syringe, since a pipette is more than enough. However, the tank can hold 6.5ml, can actually only hold 6ml.
There are three trays. Two are interchangeable and the third, the IMC-Coil 0.3Ω, already ready with a double coil and the capillary, included, is disposable and more particularly suitable for the dripper base which unfortunately is not provided in the kit, because the wicks are too short to ensure the capillarity of the liquid in the tank.
The IMC2 plate has two large studs that leave little space between the studs for air circulation and requires that the two resistors are positioned in double coil before being fixed. Fixing is done with a single Phillips screw. Ideally, this plate is more favorable to the single coil by associating it with the reducer of chamber.
The IMC3 plate is of the Velocity type with 4 screws each dedicated to fixing the resistor legs. The space between the pads is favorable to the air circulation in the atomization chamber, with low resistance value assemblies, at high power, which ensure a significant production of steam.
Each plate is screwed on the filling ring, which is then mounted on the central axis of the base before screwing the pin, which ensures the maintenance of all the parts, to finish, it is enough to adjust the tightening with the ring filling.
Everything constituting the Combo is very well made, for a price not exceeding 40 €, so far all is well.

Reviewer's comments on functional features
The functions of this RDTA Combo are numerous, besides the fact that it can slightly modify its appearance with the top-cap, or transform with a dripper base, the possibilities are enormous since the atomizer can be associated with 6 different plates and a disposable tray already mounted, to make your job easier.
For this test, only the disposable tray and the supplied IMC-2 and IMC-3 trays were tested.
The disposable IMC-coil 0.3Ω tray in double SS coil, showed me a resistance of 0.33Ω for a power of 42W or in TC at a maximum temperature of 270 ° C. Equipped with a ring around the assembly which reduces the airflow and the combustion chamber, this assembly feeds regularly like a dripper, because the wicks do not go to the bottom of the tank.
It provides a more than comfortable vape with a very thick and lukewarm vapor, provided by a ceramic plate which does not (or very little) conduct the heat released by instant heating of the resistance. The flavors are not exceptional but for the sub-ohm I find them quite fair, round but a little stifled by the density of the vapor which saturates the taste of the juice a little.
The IMC-2 tray, also provides a good vape, provided you adapt the assembly that suits it, we will see this in "the use" below, but its main characteristic is to provide the ideal single coil vape in reducing the chamber with the appropriate accessory, to make assemblies with an "exotic" resistance.
The IMC-3 plate is more efficient in double coil and in sub-ohm, like the IMC-2 plate it supports high powers and allows heavier assemblies than the IMC-2 and is mainly used for the cloud chasing, of course, the aromas will be a little less tasty but when dripping they will be much better with a greater influx of liquid.
I have not tried the base RDA which modifies the functions of the plates because this base, like all the drippers, has a wick shorter and brings a quantity of liquid more important to the resistance.
Overall, the functions and characteristics are sometimes different depending on the board, the assemblies made, the powers applied or even the use in a tank or a dripper. The main observation is that this atomizer is almost limitless, since it provides, through the available accessories, a large amount of possibilities.
Although its advertised capacity is slightly incorrect, with a capacity of 6ml it remains however very appreciable, even though this Combo is a big consumer. Several refills will still be necessary if you are vaping above 45W, a power easy to achieve given the capacities of this atomizer.
Pine like airflow are adjustable.

For the drip-tip, Ijoy pampered us with two different styles, a cape with an 510 connection with a medium black drip-tip and a black top-cap with a ridged edge for easy screwing / unscrewing, which serves of drip-top with a huge opening of 15mm.
The drip-top is very open, short and conical in shape and offers a very airy vape in combination with a well-open airflow. It is better to associate it with the double coil assembly in sub-ohm
The drip-tip is supplied with an adapter that screws onto the airflow reducer and mounts with the supplied 510 drip-tip or one of your choice. The opening of the present drip-tip is approximately 8mm and is ideally suited with an airflow suitable for mounting in single coil or on assemblies requiring power less than 40W.
It is not one, but two drip-tips that are offered with this Combo, in Delrin they both allow a comfortable vape that does not burn the lips, but necessarily with the drip-top, depending on the power, we can still feel the heating resistances.

The conditioning of this Combo is generous.
In a transparent rigid plastic box, there is a protective foam in which is housed the atomizer. On the side the accessories offered are many, so we have:
• 1 additional Pyrex tank.
• 1 drip-tip with 1 510 adapter.
• 1 room reducer.
• 2 mini screwdriver, a flat and a cruciform.
• Additional seals for the red tank, with screws not included.
• 2 pre-assembled “fused” resistors and a gold-plated screw for a spare pin.
• In the atomizer is mounted the IMC-2 tray.
• An IMC-3 tray.
• IMC-coil 0.3Ω board.
A very very complete and appreciable packaging, it can nevertheless still grow with 4 other additional trays and an RDA base that you will have to get separately.
Some information in English is given on the packaging but no precise instructions on the use of the atomizer it's a shame, and it does not comply with the regulations!

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
The use of the Combo is not always obvious, the feelings expressed are only made on the Tank atomizer and not on the dripper, because differences can be noted with the same plate, by the length of the wicks, their positions and capillarity of the material used, this can change the quality of the restitution of flavors by saturation or abundance of liquid.
Before assembling the tray there is a wise choice to be made depending on the assembly you are going to use.
For the IMC-Coil tray, the bits being too short for use on tank, I advise you to keep it for the base RDA or to feed it regularly in liquid without filling the tank (it is useless).
If you opt for the IMC-2 tray, it is perfect for exotic single coil assemblies by adding the chamber reducer, which presents an appreciable flavor / vapor combination with a reduced chamber allowing the taste to be concentrated.
In double coil, with a resistive value of 0.2 Ω, my first assembly (fused) at 49W does not offer very favorable flavors but the density of the vapor is rather appreciable. The second assembly (double clapton fused with flat kanthal) at 75W and more, sends an enormous quantity of vapor but, like the first assembly, the restitution of flavors is not very satisfactory.
The IMC-3 Velocity type tray saturates a little less the flavors in double coil, thanks to the space between the pads, the air circulation is done in such a way, that we can more easily combine a dense vapor with flavors less diluted and therefore more appreciable. In addition, the single coil with a finer and standard resistive, will allow vaping on more classic powers with a reduced chamber by the addition of the reducer.
Now that you know the mounting option that you will use according to the desire and the way (power) you are going to vape, you must now mount the atomizer with the appropriate tray.
- On the chosen set, make your editing
- Screw the plate on the filling ring
- Place the assembly on the central axis of the base and screw
- Insert the pin screw to hold all the parts
- Finally, tighten the filling ring to ensure tightness
- Soak your wicks and fill the tank through the opening located on the central ring
- Set the cap and the top cap
That's it, your atomizer is ready to vape, but be careful not to go wrong, because you will have to empty your tank to change board.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Combo is a modular atomizer but above all extremely versatile. It is not always easy to know which plate to use for which assembly. In the uses described above, some tracks will help you in your reflections, to associate suitably, plate-assembly-power. The vapor / flavor ratio does not depend on the atomizer, but on your associations, because as much the result can be superb, as much it can be totally disappointing.
This product is mainly intended for experienced vapers seeking mainly to obtain big clouds, the flavors remain secondary even if one can succeed in obtaining a correct restitution of good aromas.
Knowing that the RDA base is not provided in this kit, I suggest you acquire it because, in my opinion, it certainly allows to offer much better results, for the price of this combined atomizer, this little extra still affordable and reasonable.
Irreproachable quality with parts of good quality for efficient conductivity. Although my tests are done on a box of a good size, it was not necessary to sleep the atomizer, which does not leak, however, I advise against putting it upside down in a pocket without protection, because in this situation, it could be empty.
Overall a nice surprise which unfortunately will not suit beginners, a use with multiple options that will require a minimum power of 35W. But I give it the “Top Ato” for its exceptional versatility and its attractive price.
