After a series of rather successful atomizers, Steam Crave comes back to us with a new electronic box using bottom feeding technology: the Squonk Mod.
For neophytes, the Bottom Feeding allows you to embed a plastic bottle containing liquid from the mod and, using a dripper accepting to be fed by the 510 connection, to have a reserve of juice allowing you to fill your dripper for vape. We then speak of box bottom-feeder and followers of this type of vape are called “Squonkers”.
Here is a simple battery box, equipped with a homemade chipset delivering 60w which will allow you to “squonk” yourself on the condition of course of having a compatible dripper.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
If the box is at first glance well assembled and seems of good quality, there are still some small undesirable flaws:
The first is the screen. If it is large and legible, it would be fashionable to align it in the body of the box. Even if the operation only takes two minutes to do, it is not for us, consumers, to carry out it, especially since we have to remove a protective plate to access it.
The second fault concerns the battery cradle. The positive and negative terminals are very badly thought and they will inevitably go up when you remove your battery.
Not very attractive for the longevity of the box.
And the third point is the 510 connector, it shows the positive wire and its solder on the pin without any protection. Since we are talking about welding, it seems to be carried out by a student of 3 ° techno as the finish is poor.

For the packaging, nothing to complain about (though…). The black colored box partitioned by foam covered with muslin contains two flexible vials, a USB cable for recharging and a small user manual in English printed in a hurry.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
In use, the Squonk remains a simple product. Just fill your flexible vial with your favorite e-liquid and connect the flexible hose to the connector. We screw a dripper equipped with a BF pin to take advantage of this function and we are ready to fire.
For the choice of the dripper, rather choose a model typed “flavors” because the box will deliver only 60W at most, at least on paper. In real conditions indeed, the power seems quite overestimated, the chipset seeming to send less power than promised.
We are still entitled to a fairly reliable temperature control mode but only Ni200 compatible.
If I dared, I would advise Steam Crave to contact Joyetech to make them their next chipset ...

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Squonk Mod is the first “general public” bottom feeder box. In fact, bottom feeder boxes have already existed for a few years, particularly in Italy.
They were not very widespread in our regions until then and only a few informed vapers had one, the fault of limited production, often prohibitive prices and a strong lack of choice. It is therefore with great enthusiasm that I took possession of this box.
After the exaltation of novelty comes the time to take stock. And it's not brilliant ...
The Squonk Mod is not a bad box, far from it, but for such a “serious” price, I think it must be flawless and have top notch electronics. This is unfortunately not the case and I hope that a V2 will come quickly to make us forget the carelessness of this first opus.
