Today, it is an All In One (AIO) that will be of particular concern to us. Yes, okay, but what the hell is an AIO, sir? Well this is a mod kit, battery, atomizer and resistance occupying the same space, in a single object. It's not more complicated than that. Others call it a pod, it's simpler but it's less classy!
The brand in the spotlight is Lost Vape, a Chinese manufacturer well known for its high-end products sometimes including an Evolv chipset as in the case of the Lost Vape DNA range or a proprietary chipset in the case of the Vape Lost Quest range. Lost Vape is not new to pods since they successively released the Orion Q, the Q Pro and the Q Ultra which is the subject of this article. For the fiercest, there is even a Thelema which represents the top of the series.
The differences between these different models concern among other things autonomy and power and we go from 17 W and 950 mAh for the Orion Q to 80 W and 3000 mAh for the Thelema. A race which therefore involves increasing sizes, it is necessary to house the batteries. The Q Ultra therefore remains the most interesting “pod” for those who want good vaping performance while maintaining discreet dimensions.
Indeed, the Q Ultra Alfaliquid Edition carries 1600 mAh of autonomy in the form of a LiPo battery, 40 W of power, the optional possibility of having a rebuildable plate and a multitude of advantages on which we will come back. Alfaliquid, yes, you read that correctly. The great French e-liquid house bringing its immense marketing network and the excellent reputation of its name in the bride's basket to help the product take off in our country.
For an all-inclusive price of 59.90 €, you therefore have a device that vapes, small, light but also well built and offering more than respectable performance. In addition, it remains easy to use, which makes it suitable for both great beginners and vaping geeks anxious to move discreetly.

The first general remark that we can make is that the Q Ultra has an original aesthetic which is its charm. Angles, taut lines, a Bauhaus effect very marked by a purity of the design that goes hand in hand with simplified ergonomics. The object is built in aluminum alloy and has a very light weight of about 90 gr for a height of 105 mm, a width of 43 mm and above all a thickness of 16,5 mm which makes it very pleasant in the hand and intelligently accentuates the originality of its design.
On each large front of the device, there are textured inserts for better grip, linen effect on my copy, but there are as many textures as there are colors as you can see below.
At the top of the mini building sits a drip-tip and a metal unscrewable filler cap. These rest on the removable transparent plastic tank. In this room, we therefore find the filling opening, the container of your favorite e-liquid but also a resistance and an airflow adjustment mechanism. It should be noted that you can independently change the tank if it is too worn out, the resistance when it is time to change it and you can even put an optional rebuildable plate.
Everything is detached from the battery itself by a lock wisely positioned at the top of the device, just above the switch.
The two facades are distinguished only by their respective decorations, the first displaying Lost Vape Quest and Alfaliquid Edition on the frame and Q Ultra on the yoke, the second displaying Q Ultra on the frame and the logo and brand name on the back. yoke.
If you have followed well so far, it remains for us to admire the anatomy of the two narrow facades. The first includes the lock at the top, the switch a little lower, an OLED screen, a +/- button to vary the power and a 1.5 A USB / C socket ensuring a fast charge (about 70 minutes) of the battery integrated. The screen displays the resistance value, the selected power value, the number of seconds of the puff and the “resettable” number of puffs.
The second ridge has eighteen vents to ensure optimal cooling of the battery. Safety is greatly emphasized by the manufacturer on the Q Ultra and this device is part of the mandatory package to ensure proper operation.
It is impossible to pass a negative judgment on the quality of the whole. Everything is perfectly adjusted at the level of the moving parts, the material has been carefully chosen to optimize the weight while maintaining a reassuring visual appearance and a solid and comfortable grip. We expected no less from Lost Vape or Alfaliquid.

Anyone can understand all of the features of the Q Ultra in two minutes and this is to their credit. It is a simple device that will delight beginners and greatly simplify the life of confirmed.
First point. The Q Ultra will work just as well in MTL as in DL. To switch between these two possibilities, you just need to choose the resistance corresponding to your type of vape and you're done. We therefore have three resistors available, one in MTL of 1 Ω and two in DL, in 0.3 or in 0.6 Ω. You can thus browse the entire power spectrum offered by the device, going from about 8 W on the MTL resistor up to 40W on the lower resistor.
The adjustment of the airflow draft is childish. You just have to turn the airflow ring located at the base of the drip-tip to find your personal draw, this one varying of course according to the chosen resistance.
Second point: the filling. Nothing could be simpler, just like your car at the gas station, you just have to unscrew the metal cap and easily fill your pod. CQFD! You can even use flasks fitted with large droppers, even glass pipettes or even a watering can. (Editor's note: he's joking), the size of the orifice being largely dimensioned to serve the liquid while allowing the residual air to escape.
Third point: electronic functions. Just press the switch five times and you switch from ON mode to OFF mode and vice versa. Here you will not find temperature control, variable voltage, complicated stuff to implement, everything has been done to make the process simple and intuitive. You can just block the power by simultaneously pressing the switch and the [+] part of the button or reset your puff counters by pressing the switch and [-].
Fourth point: security. As I told you previously, this is one of the strengths of the Q Ultra. Protections against overheating, against short circuits, against overloading, against rising dollar or against low voltage, I believe that should reassure everyone! Add to that an automatic cut-off after 10 seconds of pressing the switch in case you have stored the Q Ultra on in your bag! 🙄

The packaging is E-XEM-PLAIRE and, for once that happens, I will not hesitate to develop, no offense to those who repeat me, the rascals, that we do not vape the cardboard…. I reassure you, I do not walk with shoe boxes on my feet either, but I still appreciate when my groles are sold to me in a box. 😛
Here we have a hard cardboard, ideal for postal transport, covered with a cardboard tunnel including the necessary information on the product.
It includes: the pod pre-equipped with a 0.6 Ω resistor, an additional 1 Ω resistor to cover your needs depending on your type of vape, a USB / USB-C cable and, drum roll ... a worthy French manual of that name !!! Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
No complaints, the Q Ultra behaves wonderfully in use. Rather fuel efficient, it is free from any leakage and any untimely dry-hits. It does not heat up and is considerate by giving you maximum visibility of the liquid remaining in your tank.
The flavors are very correct for the category, rather round and sweet with the resistances provided. I presume that we would perhaps achieve a higher result in precision with the optional RBA plate but, as it is, it is already sufficient for mobile operation because that is the whole point of this type of equipment: to be correct in flavor and easy to take and use. It is not there to compete with a high-end dripper and a matching box, but to allow you to vape in your daily life without wasting time. In this he is perfect.
Be careful though, the manufacturer does not recommend liquids exceeding a rate of 50% vegetable glycerin, which seems wise to me.
