The product of the year 2018 is undoubtedly the POD. The big brands such as Joyetech, Aspire, Eleaf… have all offered us at least one set-up with cartridges and until then, the more elitist manufacturers have remained “silent”.
But that was before !
Car Lost Vape joined Evolv to offer us the first high-end POD system with the Orion.
A cartridge system which consists of a Box equipped with a specific DNA chipset named GO and a 950mAh battery and a 2ml Pod whose resistance will be either 0.25 or 0.5Ω.
In terms of price, no surprise we are at 64.90 € two to three higher than the systems offered by generic brands. So let's see if the upscale deserves its place on this market hitherto very popular.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
The designers of Lost Vape show us once again that they are excellent.
The design of theOrion is sober, chic and classy. A paving stone that might at first glance seem very basic, but when you take it in hand and study the object more closely, you immediately realize that under this apparent simplicity hides a multitude of small details.
Firstly the materials chosen, here, no zamac or Zinc alloy mixture, no, the different parts that make up the body are made of stainless steel. The panels that decorate the facades are either carbon fiber or mother-of-pearl.
Everything is perfectly adjusted and the ox exudes quality.
Secondly, we notice that the Box is not as “cubic” as one might think, all the edges are softened but not by a simple straight bevel, we have a kind of more worked “molding” which reinforces the feeling of luxury that emerges from the Set-up.
Finally, on one of the edges, we discover buttons also made of metal and which are perfectly adjusted. The screws, the tiny metal hatch that hides the Micro-USB port, everything is just right.
The body is just perfect and the Pod is also great. In PC110, a food grade plastic, it is smoky black but easily shows the liquid level. It is equipped with a metal cap and an integrated Delrin Drip-Tip. At the base of the mouthpiece, there is a small metal airflow ring.
I had a hard time presenting you this Orion because it literally caught my eye and when a product pleases me so physically, I find it difficult to find the words, because I am under a sort of “evil spell” which partly deprives me of any critical eye.
But I assure you, it is just a magnificent and very qualitative product which, immediately, comforts you in your purchase.

Like all Pod systems, theOrion is very simple in appearance.
But in fact, his Chipset is a jewel of technology. To begin, the DNA GO offers a power adjustment on three levels (default setting): low, medium and high low, medium and high).
It allows you to monitor the charge level of the battery with a light code. The LED will shine:
- In blue 95-100%
- In green 70-95%
- In yellow 30-70%
- In solid red 15-30%
- flashing red 0-15%
It also allows you to protect yourself from Dry Hit, in fact, the Pods are equipped with SS316 resistors which allows the use of a protection based on temperature control and so if you do not notice that your pod is at dry no risk of toasting the cotton.
One of the other functions offered by the DNA Go lies in the possibility of recording your ideal puff and replaying it as many times as you want.
Finally, like all Chipset Evolv you can customize certain parameters (LED setting, adding power levels, etc.) using the Escribe software.
No screen, all information goes through the LED.
The built-in battery is recharged through the Micro-USB port and supports an intensity of 1A which allows a total recharge in 45 minutes.
Finally, we will talk about Pods. The 0.25Ω are intended for the DL and support a maximum power of 30W. The 0.50Ω are them, called MTL and accept a power up to 15 / 16W. The resistors are made in SS316 as I have already pointed out and the wick is in Japanese cotton. They are equipped with an airflow adjustment ring.
A set-up more complex than it appears which confirms its belonging to the upper class.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
Lost vape presents us theOrion in a nice package but a little bland compared to its content. A light green cardboard box with a picture of our set-up with what appears to be its logo, a kind of hourglass. On the different sides are the brand, the scratch code, the normative logos and the different links to the spaces of the brand on the various social networks.
Inside, we find the Box, 3 pods (one of 0.5Ω and two of 0.25Ω), a USB / Micro-USB cable and a record translated into several languages including French.
A small complete pack but which I would have liked more classy to suit the level of finish of the Set-up.
I did not tell you about the neck strap provided in the pack, so I am repairing this somewhat voluntary error I admit because for me, this accessory does not stick to the spirit conveyed by the look of the Box and more , I always found it a little “beauf”, sorry for the followers but me I can not.
Appreciations in use
- Transport facilities with the test atomizer: Ok for an inside jacket pocket (no deformations)

A Pod system must be practical, easy to use, efficient and transportable.
THEOrion unites all these qualities without worry.
Compact and not very heavy, it will be very easy to take it everywhere with you, it slips very easily into an inside pocket of a jacket, jacket, etc.
The Pod is quite easy to extract thanks to the sliding button, it is a little firm but once the hand is taken, no worries.
Filling the 2ml tank is also very simple, you just have to be careful not to lose the metal cap when filling on the go, in the middle of the street.
The controls are quite simple, 5 clicks on the Switch to start or lock, always with the fire button, 2 clicks to control the battery level. To select the power, we will use the selection button located on the bottom of the slice, we go from one level to another by a simple pressure. We will also use this button to activate the Replay function which is therefore used to replay until your ideal puff dies.
You can use the Escribe software to modify certain parameters and the dedicated interface DNA GO is very easy to understand even if you are not yet an ecig pro.
Battery recharging is done in 45mn with an 1A charger, the 950mah offer a reasonable autonomy especially if you stay on powers lower than 15W.
The sensations are very good. No leaks, no glouglou, very well transcribed flavors and a correct amount of steam.
In use, theOrion turns out to be great, we take it in hand quickly and performance is at the rendezvous.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
Lost Vape is therefore the first high end manufacturer to enter the segment of POD systems. And for a first try, we are close, see we reach the masterstroke.
The Box is really beautiful, its lines are both classy, racy and pure. The materials chosen and the finish do the rest to seduce you.
The controls are flexible and perfectly adjusted, no click too loud, no noise of maracas.
In short, an irreproachable plastic.
Alors Evolv plays a key role in this success. The DNA GO is pleasant, effective and easy to tame, moreover, its setting via Write is very affordable.
Finally, the POD allows the production of a volume of vapor more than correct for the category and in addition the flavors are expressed without any false note.
The autonomy is very suitable given the size and the recharging is quite fast.
This Setup is a real crush for me, I am under the spell. So it's true that 65 €€ is quite expensive for a POD system. But ultimately for this price, you have a steel and carbon fiber box equipped with a DNA GO which flatters the ego well and which we take pleasure in showing off. So ultimately, it's a real little madness but wise enough that we can be tempted.
