Reviewer comments on business characteristics

The Chinese manufacturer EHpro offers us a double-coil fiber atomizer with a pyrex tank that seems really built and designed for clouds of beautiful sizes. We already knew the Pontus, the Revel and other Big Buddha which signed the arrival of the former manufacturer of clones on the market of the original, so here is the Billow, conceptualized with the help of the Americans of Eciggity.

The atomizer arrives on the market at a consistent price but high enough that we still expect convincing results. Taking over the operating principle of the widely popular bell atomizer lately, does the Billow have the stature to play in the big leagues?

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

In terms of quality, we can see that serious efforts have been made. The threads are correct and do not require any particular effort to assemble / disassemble the atomizer. The pyrex used, although not protected in the event of a fall, has a very good thickness of 1.5mm. The number of pieces is also a good indicator of the work involved in delivering a simple and well-designed atomizer, made for vaping and not for a fun puzzle game. The gaskets hold the pyrex well and ensure a perfect seal in combination with the top of the chimney which screws onto the top cap, thus assuming the role of maintaining the block.

Reviewer's comments on functional features

We find here a double air inlet to supply the two resistors that we will mount on the plate. The airholes are large, 2.5mm each, which is a great clue to the atomizer's project which is to be a good steam engine. The airhole settings are located below the atomizer, on both sides of the connection and can be handled by a flat screwdriver provided. Ehpro has probably not opted for the best way because there is a major drawback in this placement: you will be able to do not other than carry your screwdriver with you and detach your atomizer from your mod if you want to enlarge or reduce the air intake. You could argue that you do not spend your life changing your air flow and this is quite correct, especially since the filling is also done from below using a philips screwdriver provided.

The airflow settings being two in number, one can be totally condemned to mount only a single coil but however, I advise you not to do so because the Billow is a real double-coil, designed to work as well and will give its best in this setup.

We will also appreciate the possibility of installing a Nano Kit available for about ten euros from our sponsor which reduces (pyrex tank + bell with shorter chimney) significantly the overall size of the atomizer.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Drip tip type: 510 Only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Medium
  • Quality of the drip-tip present: Very good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The drip-tip takes over the simplicity of the Billow design and perfects the whole beautifully. With an opening of 0.7mm, it accredits the positioning of the Billow as an air-type atomizer and therefore more inclined to vapor than to flavor.

Evaluation of the packaging

  • Presence of a box accompanying the product: Yes
  • Would you say that the packaging is up to the price of the product? Yes
  • Presence of a user manual? No
  • Is the manual understandable for a non-English speaker? No
  • Does the manual explain ALL features? No

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

The packaging is simple and the sober side of the black color is the most beautiful effect. I regretted the absence of foam inside, more able to ensure the protection of a Pyrex atomizer than the folded cardboard which seems a little fair for that. It contains, in addition to your atomizer, the eternal and yet very useful bi-format screwdriver, a bag containing an unnecessary strand of resistive wire, a bag containing an unnecessary strand of silica and a bag containing a spare seal for the drip -tip (which has two), a gasket for the top of the chimney and two stud screws. I would have much preferred, rather than having a piece of silica and a piece of resistive to have at least one spare gasket for the pyrex.

There is no notice. So, too bad for beginners in reconstructable who will turn to a builder who takes into account that all its potential users are not experts in the field. Especially since there are still things to say: on the fragility of pyrex, on the need to clean the ato before first use, on the topology of the atomizer so that the less accustomed can know where the airflow is regulated and where the ato is filled.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

The BIllow has in the vaposphere the reputation of being an atomizer with leakage problems. Personally, I did not have any, not even the slightest drop and in order to obtain this result, I used the following method which is not revolutionary but which has the advantage of giving good results.

For an optimal use of the Billow, it is necessary to understand what it is. Namely a real double-coil. So, if you mount it in a single coil, you may have leakage problems, including if you have not forgotten to condemn the corresponding airflow. It is also essential, despite the narrowness of the tray, to load cotton properly. The cotton dosage on this atomizer and the use in double-coil are the two conditions necessary in order to have an optimum rendering and an almost certain absence of leakage.

Once this is understood, the assembly remains simple in theory because we have a double positive pad, more conducive to better passage of the resistive wire. In reality, if the assembly of the coil does not pose any problem, it is rather its positioning in relation to the airflow which is located below that will pose a problem. Indeed, once the two coils are installed, you have to center them and there, it becomes more complex because either you accept to have a long leg hooked to the negative stud on each side, or you have to juggle to obtain the correct centering in relation to the air supply. But we get there with a little patience, which still remains the essential. I personally would have preferred either a single positive stud, able to guarantee easier positioning or a slight offset of the airflows because nothing requires them to be perfectly centered.

When the time comes to install the cotton, do not be stingy because despite the clever edges that frame the airflows, the atomizer is known to leak if the amount of cotton is too low. So, a good dose guarantees better retention of the liquid because the atomizer did not seem to me to pose any problem of capillarity inherent in its design. Be careful, however, when screwing the bell which forms a single piece with the chimney and which will penalize any excess cotton protruding from the edges of the tray.

The last and final precaution to take concerns the filling. To fill the atomizer through the hole dedicated for this purpose, I first opened the two airholes with the corresponding screws. Thus, the air is driven from the tank by the liquid and comes out through the airholes. So, we have no phenomenon of liquid compression by the air in the tank. When I had finished filling, I first closed the filling hole and then carefully turned the atomizer upside down. No drop in the airholes… I then positioned the two airflow adjustment screws according to my way of vape and the result was immediately consistent. Then, for a few hours, I went through various airflow adjustments without ever having had the slightest leak.

Again, there are simple atomizers and others that need to be tamed to perform at their best.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Billow, literally “cloud of smoke” in English, is more like vapor, which is a good sign for us vapers. He even does a lot. I appreciated its potential, its sober and versatile aesthetic and the quality of its construction for a very moderate price. Its autonomy is quite important even if its design increases the consumption of liquid. But this is nothing new in the sense that we know that if we want a lot of steam, we need a lot of liquid ...

It does not suffer from any major flaw in my opinion. It is a good atomizer, at a good price and well built. But I could regret however that despite the narrowness of the tray and the very moderate size of the bell, the flavors finally pass in the background compared to the volume of steam. Nothing new either, these two aspects of vaping are generally antagonistic. However, the airflow settings allow a lot of leeway and you can go from tight to very airy without any problem. The tighter it is, the more flavor will gain importance at the expense of vapor volume. Conversely, the more open it is, the more the steam will gain importance to the detriment of the flavors.

In conclusion, you have to use the Billow for what it is in order to get the most out of it. It will not compete with atomizers made for the taste race but it will delight fans of steam. And in this area, he will be very efficient. It is not a real revolution but, once passed the course of an assembly to master, there remains an atomizer of good behavior which gives all that it can and all that it has without posing problems.

Looking forward to reading you.
