Comments on the packaging

Today, I suggest you progress in our exploration of the Wanted range from Solana. We are facing a beautiful collection of unrepentant delicacies and the first two references, the Fugee and the Cherokee are undeniable successes.

Suffice to say that I switched to Defcon 4 for The Kid and, given the previous tests, the expectation is very high! Especially since The Kid offers us a revisit of a classic of children's gastronomy.

If I tell you 52 teeth as the number of weeks, 4 ears for the number of seasons, 24 points for the hours of the day and 7 cm for the 7 days of the week, what do you answer me?

Like the whole range, this liquid comes to us in a bottle containing 50 ml of aroma to be extended with 10 ml of neutral base or as much booster. Or a clever mix of both. The goal is anyway to achieve 60 ml of ready to vape, between 0 and 3 mg / ml of nicotine.

Assembled on a 50/50 basis with a PG/VG ratio, the liquid sells for €19.00 all round. A very reasonable price for the category.

Well, now that we are educated on everything that makes decorum, we move on to serious things: the vape!

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

No complaints. Solana, as a historical player in the vape for 8 years, knows how to do it and delivers an almost perfect copy in terms of safety and legality.

The manufacturer informs us of the presence of cinnamic aldehyde. Nothing really new or bad, but if you are allergic to this organic compound from cinnamon essential oil, pay attention to it anyway.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Do the graphic design of the label and the name of the product agree? Yes

Comments on the packaging

Taking over the very successful aesthetics of the range, this liquid offers us a new character in its gallery.

This is the Kid, as its name suggests. Undoubtedly a reminiscence of Billy The Kid, the famous outlaw of the Wild West, king of the trigger and highwayman, popularized by many films in American culture and by Lucky Luke in French culture.

It's still just as attractive, perfectly finished and designed. The cardboard box is an undeniable plus and the informative notices are all there, provided you have a good magnifying glass because in white on a yellow background, it is far from easy to decipher.

Comments on the taste of the juice

Is it good ?

It's correct. We find a biscuity flavor with a rather creamy texture in the mouth. A slight vanilla note is superimposed and the tasting is undeniably and at least gourmet. The length in the mouth is not very important but does not seem incongruous in the category.

Does it look like a little butter?

Not really. The sugar level is marked and interferes with the promised biscuit flavor. No taste of cereal in this biscuit, we rather obtain a custard lightly accommodated with a few bits of dry cake. Without being unpleasant, it is not at the level of the Fugee or the Cherokee which were much more realistic and sober.

The recipe tries to find the balance without really succeeding, unlike the two references cited. At best, we have here a liquid that we can vape by extending it with 20 ml of neutral base or booster to rebalance it a little. At worst, we may prefer to choose another reference in the range.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 35 W
  • Type of steam obtained at this power: Dense
  • Type of hit obtained at this power: Light
  • Atomizer used for the review: Aspire Huracan
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 0.30 Ω
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Cotton, Mesh

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

This liquid has been tested on an Aspire Huracan, very efficient in a normalized situation of use as well as on a surgical monocoil dripper. This allows me to advise you to vape The Kid on a reconstructable atomizer or a clearomizer that does not use mesh resistance.

Indeed, the mesh favors the sweet aspects and this liquid does not need it. A good old simple coil will therefore be more relevant even if it will not avoid a rapid saturation of the sugar sensors on the tongue either.

To vape lukewarm / hot and well ventilated in accompaniment to a coffee with little or no sugar, at short and chosen moments of your day.

Recommended Moments

  • Recommended times of the day: Morning – coffee breakfast, Morning – chocolate breakfast, Morning – tea breakfast, End of lunch / dinner with a coffee
  • Can this juice be recommended as an all-day vape: No

Overall average (excluding packaging) of the Vapelier for this juice: 3.81 / 5 3.8 5 out of stars

My mood ticket on this juice

We would have loved to love The Kid! Especially after the excellent surprises represented by The Fugee with its stunning realism of Breton puck and The Cherokee with a superb interpretation of puffed rice in a gourmet way.

Alas, too much is sometimes the enemy of goodness and, as a regressive and sober Petit Beurre in the spirit of M Lefevre-Utile's creation, we have rather a fuzzy “custardized” mix where the excess sugar harms to identify the cookie.

There is, however, one Outcast left in the Wanted range that will be reviewed soon. Something to look forward to!
