Comments on the packaging

Coming from the creation and production of food flavorings, it was in 2010 that the Italians of Flavor Art decided to invest in the personal vaporizer market.

And today, it is through its French distributor, the company Absotech located in the Landes, that we take possession of the various ranges and products of the brand.

I will therefore start with a juice from the “E-Motions” range, called “Eclipse”.

10 ml in transparent plastic but equipped with child safety and a not trivial first opening seal. I will talk more about these systems in the next chapter ...
Not trivial either, the nicotine levels upset our habits. The extremes 0 & 18 mg / ml are in accordance with our old reflexes, the difference is made on the intermediates: 4,5 & 9 mg / ml.
If the dosage is indicated on the vial, it is especially quickly identifiable by the change of color of the cap.

Green for 0 mg / ml
Light blue for 4,5 mg / ml
Blue for 9 mg / ml
Red for 18 mg / ml

The PG / VG ratio is fixed at 50/40; the remaining 10% correspond to aromas, nicotine and distilled water.

The price is competitive in this category of entry-level to: 5,50 € the 10 ml.

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

I mentioned, in the previous chapter, an unusual cap system, as we are conditioned by the classic PET tip or no less basic pipettes, whether they are glass or plastic.
Here, the first-opening seal is in the form of a breakable tab which, once stripped of its initial function, offers us a snap-opening cap.
While it is true that without knowing this mode of operation, openness is not obvious to those who do not know. Like your servant who wants to open without worrying about a notice. I am more wary of young children who might spend time playing with them. In this case, I am not sure that placed in the mouth, an unfortunate and unfortunate pressure cannot open the device ...
Well… the legislator agrees with this principle, since the manufacturer's site announces a certification standard ISO 8317.

To the question of our protocol relating to the presence of clear pictograms on the label, I answered no. Indeed, if the main one, in our case the exclamation point dedicated to the 4,5 mg / ml of nicotine received for this test is correct, it is unfortunately all alone. No pictogram for the prohibition to minors and pregnant women even if, to be honest, it must be indicated that the mentions are present in text form.

The text precisely. It is true that the law imposes a copious slice of it. But in the case of Flavor Art productions it is particularly busy, poorly organized and ultimately illegible. Especially since we have recent examples of manufacturers who have complete labeling that remains clear despite the amount of information required, and the small surface area available.

Ignoring these elements, note nevertheless the effort of the sign which offers us juices without alcohol and other prohibited substances. A DLUO and a batch number as well as the coordinates of the place of manufacture and those of distribution.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes
  • The packaging effort made is in line with the price category: Could do better for the price

Vapelier's note regarding packaging with regard to juice category: 4.17 / 5 4.2 5 out of stars

Comments on the packaging

I am not overwhelmed by the packaging. Mainly involved, the “mess” text that I mentioned in the previous register and a visual that does not cause great emotion, this remains in compliance with future legal provisions on the visuals of labels, imposed by the TPD.

  • Definition of smell: Chocolate, Menthol
  • Definition of taste: Menthol, Chocolate
  • The taste and the name of the product, do they agree ?: Yes
  • Did I like this juice ?: No
  • This liquid reminds me: Nothing precise

Vapelier's note on the sensory experience: 3.75/5 3.8 5 out of stars

Comments on the taste of the juice

On the nose, I vaguely feel the sensation of the announced description.

Chocolate and mint. This is the promise made by flavorists.

If I admit that chocolate is not an obvious flavor to reproduce in a vape, the assembly did not really inspire me. We are far from the hoped-for “After Eight ©”.
The whole gives off a flavor and it seems to me to perceive hints of chocolate, only the whole seems very chemical.
I imagine that the mint is in the form of a cream because there is no particular freshness, but I do not know which of the two aromas does not manage to serve as a support for a realistic development.

The aromatic power is moderate, in a sort of continuity, rather light hold and length.

The hit disconcerted me a little because this rate of 4,5 modifies my perception; I'm used to being at 3 and 6 mg / ml when it's not at 0. My brain must have taken its “marks”, I have to reset it. Besides, the hit is consistent, like the volume of steam produced.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 15 W
  • Type of steam obtained at this power: Normal (type T2)
  • Hit type obtained at this power: Medium
  • Atomizer used for the review: Dripper Hobbit & Subtank mini
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 1.2Ω
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Kanthal, Cotton

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

Abusing “Eclipse” is no use. I tried to send on a double coil dripper but I only had the effect of strengthening the chemical sensation of the whole.
To capture its essence, I preferred the use of devices that are said to be more intended for first-time buyers, clearomizers and tight vape will therefore in my opinion be preferred.

Recommended Moments

  • Recommended Moments of the Day: Morning, Late Night with or without Herbal Tea, Night for Insomniacs
  • Can this juice be recommended as an All Day Vape: Yes

Overall average (excluding packaging) of the Vapelier for this juice: 3.7 / 5 3.7 5 out of stars

My mood ticket on this juice

I really made the effort of immersion to immerse myself in my beginnings in the vape, deliberately ignoring the experience acquired and the hundreds of juices tasted. But nothing helps.

The “Eclipse” is not a disaster because it meets most of the standards in force and obtains an above average rating.
Only at the taste level, I have a feeling a little similar to reading the label; it's indigestible.
Not that there are too many different flavors. But more for lack of realism which is far from what we are entitled to expect.

To first-time buyers and without disrespecting them maybe. But they shouldn't taste other things ...
This juice seems to me to date from several years, as if it had overlooked the many evolutions of our current vapology.

I am also not convinced by the opening / closing system of the cap, as to its absolute safety in the hands of young children.

But an optimist by nature, I think (I hope, above all) to discover some good recipes in the richness and diversity of the references received.

See you soon for the continuation of these hazy adventures,

About the Author

Follower of the tobacco vape and rather "tight" I do not balk in front of good greedy clouders. I love flavor-oriented drippers but am very curious about the evolutions of our common passion for personal vaporizers. Good reasons to make my modest contribution here, no?
