A world without smoke
With the scheduled disappearance of puffs in 2024, whether in France or in many other countries, vaping loses, whatever one may think of the object itself, a powerful lever of persuasion on the very broad population of smokers remaining to be converted. It was a simple, discreet and ultimately very educational device for vaping.
Faced with the ban, the major players in vaping did not remain inactive and developed a new generation of products that have been simplified to the extreme but fit within the requirements of future legislation. Industrialists, liquidators, everyone took up the subject and we must admit that most of the proposals we had in our hands were convincing. However, it took a giant to offer a radical product, ostensibly aimed at smokers and breaking with the avalanche of pods available on the market. A product as simple as a puff, almost, but benefiting from all the technology acquired over many years of existence. This is how Aspire offers us today the Nexi One.
We no longer present the brand, right? So let's focus on the few grams of ingenuity of this new product set to become a game-changer in the vaping industry.
The concept is basic. To collect smokers one by one, you need a product that does not disorient them. Thus, the specifications emerge by themselves. You need a small, light object that resembles a real cigarette, both in terms of design and dimensions. The Nexi One should not shock or upset the habits of smoked tobacco aficionados, it is not there for that, it is there to save them.
You also need something sexy, easy to use. For this, Aspire used the sealed cartridge system, carrying liquid in a tank equipped with the necessary resistance and added a power bank in order to be able to store the Nexi when not in use and at the same time , it recharges! All you have to do is recharge the power bank when it is empty and you are off for a spin. Once the cartridge is emptied, simply throw it away and replace it with another. We are on familiar ground but there is no need to reinvent the wheel when it is turning well.
Of course, we have an MTL tool, therefore operating in indirect inhalation, to get as close as possible to the analog cigarette. Moreover, there was special work done on the draw in order to emulate as closely as possible that of the cigarette. We can also mention the right balance between flavors and vapor so as not to disorient the novice user and a very judicious choice of two nicotine levels: 12 and 20 mg/ml. We are here on a product intended for adult smokers to allow them to access vaping, not on a circus object used in the playground to impress the gallery!
And while we're at it, since smokers are addicted to tobacco, these are indeed tobacco flavors (sorry, classic, I always have trouble with the hypocrisy of institutions) which are proposed. And since we are at Aspire and not at Mémé, there are 12 different ones! Not one, twelve!
That's the main principles, let's move on to shape and dimensions.
First, there is the appearance. The power bank is small, 93mm high, 25mm wide and 12mm deep. With the Nexi inside, the whole thing weighs 33.20 g! Suffice it to say that there is absolutely no problem carrying it around in a jeans pocket, a lady's bag or the inside pocket of a suit. The material used is a plastic that is very soft to the touch and seems really durable. In terms of design, the function creates the form even if this does not prevent a certain sex appeal due to the smallness of the object, its softness when gripping and these soft shapes.
The “cigarette” comes very close to what it wants to replace. With a length of 89 mm, 84 mm for a common M*rlb*ro and a diameter of 9 mm instead of 8 mm for a C*mel, it does more than come close to the dimensions of the original Cancer stick, she matches them! And the whole thing weighs 13.3 g, full cartridge…. a challenge met brilliantly.
The feeling in hand is perfect. Along the body of the cigarette, we feel raised ridges which soften its grip, imitating the paper of a sewn cigarette, while guaranteeing a good grip. We very quickly find ourselves adopting the index/middle finger position of our years of smoking wandering or keeping “a cigarette in our mouth” when working.
In short, a success! Some gloomy minds might object two things:
“We know the cigarette format, we started with that.” Ok, but it was 15 years ago, Dad, and it was the prehistory of vaping! Technology has made giant strides and we will see later that in terms of vaping, we are very far from the red-tipped e-cigs of the past. And then, it recharges!
“It’s not cool to copy the design of a cigarette.” Calm down, me too, I like beautiful mods with rebuildable atos on them. But we are not the intended audience, my friend. Here, the target is the smoker! And with this in mind, I repeat, it is a success!

The 400 mAh power bank accepts a charging current of 550 mA, which means that charging from 0 to 100% will take around 45 minutes. The battery, or rather the cigarette, contains 60 mAh which charges in 1 A by magnetism, enough to revitalize it in a few minutes.
The cartridges carry 1.7 ml of liquid and a nickel-chrome resistance of 1.6 Ω, ideal for the purpose. Particular work has been done on the flavors which make them use the power of the Nexi One to perfection.
Of course, automatic suction, excellently managed, was chosen.
A whole battery of protections coexist in the chipset of the device. Enough to vape in complete peace of mind. This same chipset, very small since it is included in the battery, ensures a powerful and precise vape, MTL as we have seen but very focused on flavors in combination with nicotine salt liquids developed solely for this use.
So, how does it vape? Well, to perfection in this type of exercise. We imagined that Aspire was not going to make a mistake, the Chinese brand ensuring first-rate product quality for years. But it must be said that we also have our share of surprises:
- The hit is very present, thanks to the use of nicotine released, like a cigarette.
- The automatic suction is perfect. It allows you to pull very hard or more gently, depending on the context.
- The 60 mAh battery is enough for a continuous vape of around 5 minutes. Like a cigarette!
- The volume of vapor is perfect and emulates the volume of smoke from a cigarette, no more and no less.
- The draw is similar in every way to a cigarette.
- The flavors have not been forgotten, as we will see below.
There is no simpler
There is only one thing left to discuss: the price! The starting kit including the power bank and the battery alone will cost you €19.90, public price. The cartridges are sold in packs of three at a price of €9.90, which makes the cartridge cost €3.30, equivalent to around fifteen cigarettes. Even the price has been optimized!

Ultimately, success is not a complex thing. You just have to combine material designed by users and manufactured with mastery and really well thought-out flavors with a very clear goal. Here, the aim is to convince reluctant smokers. In all honesty, I don't see how they could resist the sirens of vaping any longer!
The Nexi One strikes a big blow, we expected no less from Aspire, but above all it hits the right place. This is not a material dedicated to those who are already convinced of the benefits of vaping but rather to those who have been forgotten for too long, smokers, to allow them to quit smoking easily which does not Don’t oppose healing and pleasure!
I don't know if you noticed it but the Nexi is called “One”, which probably means, even if I'm not in on the secret of the Gods, that the family is intended to grow later. . Likewise, such success in a context where vaping suffers from the blows of public authorities instead of being encouraged as it should, will undoubtedly be emulated and we can clearly see the emergence of a new generation of products intended to convince smokers. “They” will copy the concept, that’s for sure. Will they do as well? History will tell...
It's been twelve years since I switched and 3 days since I only vaped on the Nexi One for the purposes of the test. At no time, as an avid vaper, did I feel punished. It is therefore possible, even probable, that the Nexi will also find fans among hardened vapers!
