Comments on the packaging

Today, we discover a Canadian brand Ohmboyz. She describes herself as the Gordon Ramsey of the vape (no less)! Recognized since the success of their Jabane liquid, they seek to introduce the flavors of the world by offering complex and original recipes.

We are going to discover the Kool Keke liquid. This is the cool version of Keke liquid. But quésaco un keke? Keke is a New Zealand cake also called de Pavlova. It is a creamy meringue covered with fruit (kiwis, red berries, cantaloupe) and honey. Hmm, that looks very greedy to me!

Kool Keke is packaged in a 50ml transparent flexible plastic bottle. Obviously, it is non-nicotine, but you can add a nicotine booster to it to obtain a liquid dosed in approximately 3 mg / ml. The Kool Keke recipe is based on a PG / VG ratio of 30/70. With such a ratio, it will not be suitable for all materials, it will have to be taken into account. Kool Keke can be found at most online retailers for an average price of $ 22,9. It is an entry level liquid.

Comments on the packaging

A tribute to the Maoris of New Zealand, the visual uses the typical patterns of the country's tikis. Pavlova is, in fact, a New Zealand recipe and the visual reminds us of it. The Keke Kool has the same visual as the basic Keke. Only the general color changes. The Kool Keke is blue while the Keke is red. As you can see, the visual is complete. A few mint leaves on both sides of the liquid's name recall the minty side of it. This visual is worked, pleasing to the eye and sticks very well to the Pavlova by recalling its origins.

Comments on the taste of the juice

The Pavlova which is the basis of Keke, is a typical New Zealand dessert, even if the Australians tell you the opposite! Keke is a light creamy meringue cake covered with forest fruits, cantaloupe (a kind of melon), of honeydew and kiwi.

When the bottle is opened, a single scent rises to my nostrils: melon or cantaloupe. Astonishing for a liquid which announces so many ingredients in its composition. By leaving the vial under my nose longer, a very slight smell of mint arrives.

I test this Kool Keke on my Flave 22 dripper armed with a 0.4 Ω coil at the power of 40W. The airflow is half open. On inspiration, the melon is very present. It is a ripe melon, very tasty. The lighter kiwi is found in the base note. The flavor of the meringue and the cream is more a feeling of roundness. The melon is potent and does not allow me to determine the straightforward flavor of the cake. It is therefore more an impression of roundness. Honey brings softness and roundness to the liquid. I really appreciate the mastery of freshness. Kool keke is cool without being cold, it's refreshing, and in this summer time it's quite pleasant.

At the expiration, the kiwi is more present without taking precedence over the melon. The aromatic power remains quite strong. The vapor is very dense, which is not surprising given the level of VG. The hit is light.

Overall, I'm a little disappointed not to feel the meringue and cream more pronounced. And since I am not a fan of the melon flavor, I am a little unsatisfied.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 40 W
  • Type of vapor obtained at this power: Dense
  • Hit type obtained at this power: Light
  • Atomizer used for the review: Flave 22 SS Alliancetech Vapor
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 0.4 Ω
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Nichrome, Holyfiber cotton

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

Kool Keke will not be suitable for mtl or rdl clearomizers and I recommend the use of a DL atomizer (aerial pull). Indeed, the level of vegetable glycerin makes this liquid thick so the resistors of small gauges will have difficulty letting enough liquid pass to avoid the dry hit. My second tip will be to love melon because it really is the dominant flavor. If that's the case, Keke is for you.

My mood ticket on this juice

I was expecting a more gourmet recipe by reading the manufacturer's description. I did not find the Pavlova sufficiently well transcribed. On the other hand, the melon is really realistic, enhanced by the kiwi and the sweetness of the honey.

Kool Keke is a good summer liquid that will satisfy lovers. The Vapelier gives it a score of 4,38 / 5. It's a pretty note that invites discovery.
