I do not know about you but I have noticed, for several months now, a certain stagnation in the technological evolutions of electronic mods. Attention, this is not only negative since at the same time, one notes the quasi-total disappearance of boxes neither done nor to be made, of capricious and unreliable gear, atos conducive to torrential leaks. The vaping therefore reaches a plateau, in terms of quality but also, unfortunately, in terms of inventiveness. Also, when a new box stands out a bit, so much to talk about it and for the good.
I therefore present to you the Snowwolf Zephyr. A small powerful brick that we owe to the manufacturer with the wolf's head, accustomed to products that are a little flashy (and sometimes downright bling-bling). The fact that Snowwolf increasingly appears to be Sigelei's premium offshoot is more of a sign of confidence.
200W, an internal LiPo battery, a slightly high-end price but not too much and quite tempting promises that we will have to take a serious look at this reference which is not trivial while it looks like s' be mistaken for an ordinary double battery box. But certain favorable physique sometimes hide a nice brain, like a Sharon Stone. So, I come back to my most basic instincts and I attack!

Aesthetically, even if nothing looks as much like a box as another box in the end, the Zéphyr is very successful. Here in rainbow livery, very popular with Asian vapers, it remains a beautiful object, dynamic, alternating right angles and sensual curves. Made in the eternal zinc alloy dear to China, it is covered with a transparent plastic shell which accentuates its shine. Thus, the chameleon effect of the paint treatment largely appears at the slightest change in light (also exists in black and blue).
A large 2 ”screen allows you to comfortably view all the information disclosed, namely:
- Current power or temperature depending on the mode selected.
- An indication of the optimal power, the result of the calculation between the resistance value and the voltage delivered.
- The value of resistance.
- The number of puffs since time zero (reset possible).
- The length of the last puff.
- The internal battery charge gauge, in logo and number.
- The preset chosen for preheat.
Suffice to say that there is no lack of information, even if the relevance of some seems questionable. But if there is only 1% of vapers who are passionate about the number of puffs they have vaped, it is already very good for them and not very annoying for the others.
Under the screen, there are two bright spots. These are two touch areas that feature the usual [+] and [-] buttons. They are very responsive and perfectly functional. The manufacturer having thought of locking them with three simple clicks on the switch. I would like to point out that the screen itself is not tactile, only the small dots are.
The manufacturing is of a very good standard and there are no imprecise adjustment points. The workmanship is top notch and even the 510 port has a nice and durable thread. I specify that, confinement requires, I have been testing this box every day for a month and that no boredom has come to disturb my vaping peace of mind. The switch is simple but easy to find and operate. It works with a reassuring little click and does not move a bit in its housing. Perfect !
On the back of the Zephyr, we find the famous emblematic wolf head of the brand. Or rather, we cannot find it because it is invisible! On the other hand, it lights up quite discreetly when you press the switch before disappearing in several stages, like a breath that goes out. It's pretty, more discreet than usual and it allows to impress the friends. Me, it's my two little ones who found it “stylish”. So I deduce that I am a cool dad thanks to this box!
The whole gives off a great impression of purity because of the absence of interface buttons and battery hatch since, if you have followed everything so far, you already know that the Zephyr has its own internal battery which we will talk about more. far.
The handling is good because the box has an almost ideal Height / Width / Depth ratio. On the other hand, it weighs its weight all the same but this is not a big inconvenience because it is enough to buy two of them and to alternate your puffs to draw you superb biceps to go parading on the beach during the summer of 2050 Jokes aside, the weight is quite substantial but not dramatic.
Below the box, we find the usual CE / FC gibberish and everything but especially six vents allowing a possible cooling of the battery or a solution in case of degassing problem.

The first remark is important. Indeed, the Zephyr uses USB-C to recharge its internal 5000mAh LiPo battery and we know that USB-C receives a much more intense electrical flow than normal USB. All this, ladies and gentlemen, in 35 minutes to go from 0% to 100%, which is exactly three times less than with a lambda box !!! Suffice to say that loading becomes almost child's play and that you never run out of juice.
Of course, some will tell me that a LiPo battery has flaws: greater fragility than normal batteries and a programmed obsolescence of the device based on the life of the battery. Ok, I agree, but a LiPo battery also has very concrete advantages: a much greater maximum discharge current and the possibility of accommodating faster charging. So the books ultimately balance out. The vapoteur remains the big winner of this combination since the use, it gains in simplicity and performance.
It is up to the chipset named IFV960 to preside over the destinies of the Zephyr. This chipset is toned and powerful and its functionalities are complete:
- Off and On: 5 clicks on the switch.
- Locking and unlocking touch zones: 3 clicks on the switch
- Power from 5 to 200W on resistors between 0.05 and 3.0Ω
- Temperature control mode between 100 and 300 ° C with Ni, Ti, SS and a TCR module.
- The mode change takes place when the box is unlocked by pressing the two light points at the same time to access a larger menu than it seems. We validate by pressing the switch while navigating with the two famous points. Easy and efficient!
- A well tied preheat in power mode with Hard, Normal and Soft.

But the capacity of the chipset is not limited to this. First of all, when you place a new ato on your box, it probes its resistance to determine its value and then offers a suitable power. Of course, you can accept this proposal or make your own settings. But this innovation will allow lay users to use their new setup optimally without knowledge because the machine's recommendations are far from being fanciful.
Then and this is probably the biggest part, this chipset has a latency of 0.0008 seconds. Well, I might as well tell you that I have a little trouble counting the ten thousandths of a second personally, even with a stopwatch, but given the transfiguration of my ato Brunhilde (a beast of flavor but a bit diesel all the same), I have no trouble believing it. Latency is simply non-existent and your most exotic montages will take a hell of a tone. And this is due to the perfect match between a mega-nervous or even cocaine addicting chipset and the chosen battery technology, available more quickly than with external batteries.
I leave aside the ability of the chipset to eat mAh at a supersonic speed during charging because we have already talked about it.
In addition, this box has a very special functionality, it attracts people of the opposite sex in the street. Oh yes, I swear! OR so, it's my physique as a (sumo) wrestler, I don't know….

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
The packaging is square, in every sense of the word. He offers us the box well protected by a very dense foam and a USB-C cable, of course.
The manual is English speaking, Chinese speaking, German speaking, Italian speaking but not really French speaking. Not really because only part of the manual is translated into French: the technical characteristics and again, with a title like PRODUCKTINFORMATION and a text written by a Minimoy, there is interest in taking out the magnifiers !!!
On the other hand, all the operational part which explains the operation of the apparatus will require to master the language of Shakespeare or to know how to read hieroglyphics.

Suffice to say that in use the Zephyr is a real pleasure. Simple, practical and powerful, it is a steam engine capable of driving with the same enthusiasm a berserk dripper at 0.1Ω as a cushy MTL at 15W. The secret of this versatility lies in the total lack of latency of the chipset which gives a boost of punch to any ato.
The real plus is the recharge, of course. We can absolutely, if we see that we are at 20%, charge for 10 minutes and recover up to 50% and so on. Royal at the bar!
No defect taints the user experience. It does not heat up, does not weaken as the deadline approaches and it is completely constant in terms of signal reliability. A real bug for doing tricks, cloud-chasing contests or whatnot, but above all a powerful and reliable tool.
The flavors are quite sharp and, if the result is a little less surgical than DNA or Yihi chipsets, it is very generous in feel and taste. There too, an effect of its power and its speed in transmitting it to the ato.

Bingo, I call it a strike! This box is an excellent product which combines simplicity of operation and exceptional performance. Let's add to that an aesthetic finally contained (thank you Snowwolf designers) and the very successful idea of using a pro-level LiPo to ensure power and we are dealing with a real pearl of innovations of all kinds .
For that and a rendering above all suspicion, it is well worth a Top Mod not stolen!
