Moonshiners' new “Bootleg Series” range has so far given us two great surprises for those who love flavors around tobacco. A high-end gourmet tobacco, the new Old Nuts, as well as a characterful tobacco with the Ruff Skin. Something to rejoice in advance when approaching the third thief of this family, the Wild Ruby. Family that we hope to see grow in the future as there are paths to clear in the category.
The Wild Ruby promises us the meeting between a tobacco, we remain in the theme of the collection, and a fruit. What to be taken aback by the proposal but attracted all the same because the quality, Moonshiners has repeatedly proven that they mastered it!
Like its friends, our liquid of the day comes in several formats. Something to satisfy all mouths. Foodies like alligators!
First, you will find it in 10 ml of nicotine released, in 0, 3, 6, 12 and 18 mg/ml. Comments on the packaging
The designer responsible for designing the packaging was particularly inspired the day he worked on the range. We find of course the smuggler DNA of Moonshiners with the very US typeface but with a clean elegance reminiscent of the bottles of stiff in the slightly chic underground bars of Chicago during prohibition.
Evocative aesthetics therefore, with the choice here of a blood red color that smells like the massacre of Valentine's Day! Good choice and beautiful packaging, whether the box or the label!

Comments on the taste of the juice
It is a perfect liquid for lovers of finesse. We open with a rather dry and nervous tobacco, quite full-bodied that descends deeply into the throat. A blend between Burley and Kentucky, more powerful than aromatic. It is just as vegetal as it should be, without excess, and carries accents of undergrowth and leather.
The puff continues by morphing towards a rather fine and well transcribed red fruit which will accentuate the natural effect of the Wild Ruby. On the packaging, we talk about morello cherries and we are not far from it. A rather tangy cherry that pleasantly annoys the tongue and goes perfectly with the tobacco that dominated until then.
It is a liquid with a lot of vegetal character which is reminiscent of certain tea liquids, not in taste but in spirit. The recipe is a small miracle of flavourist because it perfectly enhances each fundamental element while ensuring an astonishing cohesion of acuity. The liquid is very good but needs to be tamed before being appreciated.
Typically the liquid which will not please everyone but which will largely convince aficionados of new unmarked paths. A nice surprise that makes the link between two categories that one might think are opposed: tobacco and fruit. And who does it well!

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting
To be used in your favorite atomizer, the one that dissects the flavors well. Intermediate power, MTL or RDL draw required, warm/hot temperature. The style of liquid that you will drip quietly on your sofa while watching a documentary on prohibition, for example.
Goes wonderfully with dark chocolate, unflavoured tea or even a low-sweetened white alcohol, in moderation of course. Alcohol of course. The liquid, you can also vape it all-day, its sugar content will lend it perfectly to exercise.

My mood ticket on this juice
Surprising and less unifying than the other opuses in the range, the Wild Ruby does not deserve it. Where the other two resonate as obvious from the first hits, it will take more time to settle on your taste buds and convince. But it will get there, if you appreciate that an e-liquid offers you a different universe than those previously marked out by other brands.
