Hcigar has obviously decided to go for the high-end and leave the clone aside. They therefore joined forces with Evolv. This is not the first time since at the beginning of the year we saw the HB 40 unloading, which already used a DNA 40, but the latter was in my opinion on the verge of a “designistic” attack. Today with this VT 40, Hcigar corrects this by producing a box which embeds the latest evolution of the DNA 40, but which in addition has benefited from particular attention in terms of aesthetics and manufacturing quality. With a posted price hovering around € 125, the VT 40 falls into the luxury category. But does it have all the qualities required to satisfy customers at this level of the range?

We touch perfection with this box. First of all, the design is in my opinion one of the most beautiful for this type of object, at least I find that it is the most successful of the boxes with the DNA 40. We can see the effort made by Hcigar on this point it is undeniable.
Then the aluminum used is of very good quality, the surface treatment is comparable to that of the SX mini. It's quite impressive, you don't expect such quality when you buy Hcigar.
To continue, the assembly is just perfect, obviously nothing has been left to chance. The fire button and the +/- buttons are examples of their kind. Perfectly wedged in their respective housings, they are made of shiny metal and are covered with fine concentric circles. They are very responsive and super pleasant to use. We can also underline the absence of glue at the level of the chipset, which again reflects a real desire to design a high-end product.
The large screen is found on the side and is located in a perfectly machined slightly bevelled window. The micro-USB port is well placed just under the screen.
Finally, the battery hatch is simple and the quality of its screw thread is perfect, moreover Hcigar provides you with a small part bearing the same serial number as the box to unscrew this bottom-cap, we appreciate this kind of be careful when spending more than 120 € to buy a mod.
So let's be clear, at this moment of the meeting with this box, we can already say that it is a high-end product and in view of the on-board electronics we already know that we will not be disappointed.

What to say, I believe that everyone knows the DNA 40 as it is used by manufacturers of high-end mods.
In the case of this VT 40, it is the V5 gold. This version does not bring much change but obviously Evolv has fixed the bugs suffered by the first versions.
So this chipset offers a classic wattage mode and a temperature control mode (compatible with the resistive wire NI200).
The screen indicates the power, the resistance value, the voltage and of course the temperature in TC (Temperature Control) mode.
You can also change the orientation of the screen depending on whether you are left-handed or right-handed.
Note also that you can lock the resistance value in TC mode.
It is unnecessary to tell you that the box has all the security systems that are usually found on the DNA 40.
In short, a box that has everything you need, no frills.

The packaging is clean. A black box in a black sleeve too, on which appear the name of the box and the fact that it is regulated by an Evolv chipset, These two elements are electric blue in color. Inside is the box in a soft plastic bag, instructions, a USB cable reel, and a coin stamped with the name of the box (VT40) with the serial number of your copy. This small useful part to open the bottom cap of the battery reflects Hcigar's desire to switch to an easy-to-use product, it is successful. Only negative point, the instructions are not translated into French, fortunately the box is easy to handle.

This box without being a champion of miniaturization, remains relatively compact. It is easily transported, it can be compared to the Vaporshark whose chipset it shares. Both are of a similar size.
This Vt40 is very ergonomic, its shape is perfectly adapted to the hand, very quickly we find its marks, the buttons, in addition to being pleasant and efficient, are ideally positioned.
The different commands are easily assimilated, even with a notice in English.
After three weeks of use, no problem to report on the behavior of the electronics.
In conclusion this VT 40 has serious arguments to become a reference.

How to tell you…. i am a happy vaper. When a certain Victor from Gearbest contacted me (a priori he contacted a large number of reviewers) and suggested that I choose an article on this Chinese site, I said to myself why not. I browsed the site and I came across this box which had already caught my eye a few months before. Fan of DNA 40 which for me provides a very full and well regulated vape, I said to myself, it's her. Design appealed to me, but sometimes there is a world between photography and reality. Passed order.
When I took the box out of its case, love at first sight was immediate. The quality of the materials and the assembly are obvious to you. The ramage and the plumage are in perfect agreement. I look at the serial number and there… surprise! it has the number 7504, and I was born in April 1975, it is made for me, it is a sign. The little corner that accompanies it allows me to quickly put a battery. And there it works!
More seriously this stuff is in my eyes the box with the prettiest DNA 40 on the market. The finish is devilishly efficient, the surface treatment is comparable to the SX mini. In short, I am in the presence of a high-end box.
Difficult to find in a French shop I suppose the starting price was too high, it has melted since its release, since we start from € 180 at launch to currently reach a price of around € 120. This is still a bit high for many of us. But let's be clear this box is on an equal footing, with a Vaporshark, I even find that it does better. So the price seems very suitable given the different characteristics of the VT40.
I'm telling you, for me it's a Top Box that deserves to be recognized as a high-end product. If you plan to buy a box with a DNA 40, don't forget to put it on your list because it is really worth the detour.
