I recently discovered Rig Mod with the RSQ 8,0 a BF box co-signed with HCigar. For now, it is a direct competitor of TFV8, 12 and company that we will discover with “The Tanker”.
The Tanker is a good sized ultra-air clearomizer that ships 5ml of juice and that uses 0.15Ω resistors.
Rig Mod is an American brand but I think, as in many cases, they entrust the manufacture of their creations to the Chinese to reduce costs.
There is no shortage of proposals on this kind of atomizer lately, so let's see what this new suitor has in store for us.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
At first glance, no doubt about the country of origin of our clearomiser. Its massive and imposing lines suggest that the Tanker was well imagined by compatriots of Uncle Sam.
The delrin drip-tip, chunky type 810 and medium height, cap an imposing top-cap that ends a little ogive.
A large pyrex tank offers a breathtaking view of the imposing resistance. The base is quite thick, dressed in a knurled ring, pierced with two Cyclops-type openings.
We end with a 510 connection equipped with a copper pin.
The line is massive and very linear, his name tanker evokes tankers for me, but his design is more like the gun than the boat.
It is a beautiful beast with its 25mm in diameter, it is not devoid of style, but what is certain is that it does not have finesse. At the same time, it's pretty good in the mind of a cloud machine.
In terms of production, nothing to complain about, it's clean, the threads are good, the joints are of correct quality and the resistance clearly evokes those found on the TV8 series.
It is not the most refined of the band, I would even say that it has a “rustic” side in its simple lines, only the airflow ring offers a little “relief” with its texture, but it has its charm of his own.

Like any current self-respecting clearomiser, the Tanker is equipped with a top filling system. Basic type, you simply unscrew the imposing top-cap to access two large orifices.
Autonomy is ensured by a reserve of 5ml, a capacity consistent with the type of vape targeted by our cloud factory.
Then we can talk about the resistance at 0.15Ω. A large hollow metal cylinder in which there is a coil (at least) of good diameter, wrapped in a substantial layer of cotton. This type of resistance is, as I pointed out to you above, very close to that of the TFV8, moreover the Tanker is compatible with the Smok resistors.
We will end up with the airflow adjustment, which is also very classic. The airholes are located at the base of the atomizer, under the resistance. They are two in number and are of the Cyclops type. To vary the opening, we find the traditional mobile ring that you just need to turn to vary the size of the openings. The ring is held by two O-rings, it is flexible but precise.
In short, nothing new under the clouds of vapors, our Tanker brings nothing new, but at the same time, it lacks nothing.

As I have already indicated to you in the general description of the atomizer, you will find in the package a type 810 drip-tip in delrin. The internal diameter is substantial, without any constriction, it is in direct contact with the chimney of the atomizer. It is well held in place by the seals present.
Without being exceptional, it harmoniously completes the massive lines of our atomizer.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
Our Tanker is presented to you in a cardboard box with an original decoration. A set of illustrations in black color on a predominantly beige-brown background which incorporates aesthetic elements of the brand's logo with its electricity pylon and two W. We also see an octopus, a chain… No other information than the color of the atomizer and some normative logos.
Inside, we find our atomizer, a spare Pyrex tank, two resistors, a drip-tip and a seal pocket. There is also a summary notice in English.
The presentation is quite nice, it is quite suitable given the proposed rate.
Appreciations in use

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
The Tanker is a beautiful baby, especially associated with a double electro box 18650 preferably. In this case, we will have a fairly consistent set-up.
The top filling is in the classic style of classic. The top-cap is unscrewed, which is all the more easily done as it is rather thick and offers a good contact surface. The openings that are offered to us are of good size and will be compatible with a large number of bottle tips.
Disassembling the atomizer is simple, you can clean it between two juices.
The resistance can be changed without any difficulty, the system is, again, a great classic. We unscrew the base, then we extract the resistance by unscrewing it in turn. We just regret that our atomizer must be empty to make the change. It is interesting to know that the Smok coils for the TFV8 are compatible with the Tanker, which offers an alternative to the unique model offered by Rig Mod.
The restoration of flavor is in line with the kind to which our client of the day belongs. Indeed, in the cloud machine style, the Tanker defends well, without putting anyone on the mat.
Finally, the adjustment of the airholes is done without problem, the airflow ring is flexible but sufficiently precise. At the same time, with this kind of beast, it is often open fully, fully or fully.
The Tanker is a simple clearomiser in its design and use, it does not suffer from any notable defect.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Tanker is intended exclusively for those who want to make big clouds without going into the rebuildable. In this market, it is Smok who dominates the debates for a little while and more and more people are coming forward to challenge this supremacy.
The creation of Rig Mod does not shine by its technical originality, all the proposed solutions are simple and proven. Regarding resistances, our American friends were inspired by the model since the proprietary resistors are very close to those used by the TFV8. Moreover, our Tanker is compatible with them.
In terms of the look, if we like simple, raw and massive lines, then we can only be won over. The overall build quality is quite correct.
In all objectivity, we can not blame much for this new suitor, it is big clouds without losing all the flavors on the way.
I am not going to launch into an unnecessary verse on the merits of this type of vape. Personally, I practice without making it a religion. Our tanker therefore suffers from an obvious lack of versatility, his arrival will not upset the current hierarchy in place. However, it remains a very good choice if you are a fan of “big” live vape and you like its look.
