Kangertech arrives again with a perfect kit. Perfect, why?
First of all by its price 32,90 €, it is less than a cigarette cartridge ... and then, this little kit can largely target first-time vapers or intermediate vapers looking for a little more power.
No need to know too much to use this product, just respect the powers in W for the resistors, and voila ^^. One and only one operating mode, wattage mode…. Its clearomizer, the Protank 5 is also very easy to use, even if its draw remains a bit airy for people wishing to start vaping.

It is well machined and it is clean… First of all, the box equipped with the clearomizer plus a battery represents a small featherweight of 198 grams, rather light compared to other types of mod.
Its machining on the interface side leaves room for a pleasant grip, and since the buttons are recessed, there is no risk that it will go wrong in the pocket. Speaking of buttons, there are three, one used to send current to the atomizer (switch), one for the plus and the last for the minus. These are responsive when pressed to change settings or for firing.
As for the atomizer, its use is also very simple. It is filled from the top, just by unscrewing the top-cap. Its capacity is 3 ml, its diameter is 22 mm for a height of 47,5 mm drip-tip included because it is proprietary, therefore not changeable. Moreover it is in Delrin and its diameter is 12 mm.
Having had the metal version for the test, I must admit that aesthetically speaking it is beautiful but you need a cloth in hand because the fingerprints mark quickly. You can notice that the model is available in black as well.
The battery compartment cover holds firmly due to two magnets at the top and bottom, the positive part of the battery is inserted downwards. We can see from the photo that Kangertech, like a trademark, kept its logo on the cover as a heat sink, like the first Kbox.

Functional level there is no superfluous ^^. Just the classic wattage mode and it's not bad. Having seen it in the store, when sellers talk about a product, they are forced to talk about all the functions of a mod and sometimes that can scare people because for some it is very complicated. Basically they just want to quit smoking and that, Kanger understood that.
Nevertheless, the mod has a variable wattage from 7W to 50W and it is great for beginners. It also has securities such as:
- Protection against short circuits from the atomizer
- Protection against reverse polarity of accumulators
And practical information like:

- Display of the resistance value
- Display of the current vape voltage
- Display of the power of the current vape
Its clearomizer, the Protank 5, with a capacity of 3 ml and filling from the top, has a particularity, it is the control of the arrival of liquid. Depending on the fluid used, you may choose to turn the fluid supply on or off. If a liquid is fluid such as 80/20 PG / VG, its opening will be small, and the more you go up in VG rate, the more you open the said arrival.
As for its airflow, it is a little airy anyway. Do not hesitate to try before !! In this photo the liquid inlet is open, we can see the cotton through the rounded opening.
On this, the opening is completely closed. You just have to turn the clearomizer to the right or to the left to open / close.
It uses the same resistors as the Subtank mini, nano or as the Top tank, are the SSOCCs ranging from 0,2 Ω to 1,5 Ω. To change the resistance, put the mod upside down and pull on the clearomizer, a very small part will remain on the box. All you have to do is unscrew the resistance to change it. I admit that I am skeptical for this system over time. Will the joints hold up over time? I don't know, and, (another downside), there is none provided in the kit.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
For its price we are spoiled, a cardboard box that seems solid. The box and its clearomizer are housed in a dense foam pre-cut to the shape of the product. A small micro USB cord to be able to recharge the box without removing the battery is provided. I still recommend the purchase of a charger dedicated to the accumulator.

It is a pleasant model to use during the day because it is not bulky and performs very well. A power of 25 watts and here I am having spent the day with it. Its liquid consumption is not high either, a vacuum tank, so 3 ml.
Comfortable to walk with it in the jeans pocket, no discomfort. All the same, be careful if it is forceful when you want to take it out of the pocket, because if you pull too hard, only the upper part of the clearomizer, you will have it in your hands and all the liquid in the pocket.
No abnormal heat found on the day.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
A kit intended for people wishing to get started with e-cigarettes or intermediate vapers, even for so-called “experts” to find a cushy vape at home, without being yelled at by the lady because the windows are oily.
Very pleasant to use and not bulky, perfect for beginners. By virtue of its function also, a single operating mode, the power mode. You just have to put the power adapted to the resistance, and let's go…. No 36-wire temperature control, no bypass or even TCR or profile mode. One word PERFECT.
I would just have a suggestion, I would have rather seen a Pangu clearomizer on it rather than the Protank 5. As I said above, I am skeptical about the resistance change system, I am afraid that in the time, the upper part of the clearomiser no longer fits correctly on the base. This is really the only negative point for me.
