It was in 2013 that the first Squape appeared. Made in Switzerland, this atomizer has made a name for itself and has established itself as one of the high-end references on the old continent.
He has experienced several developments, a bit like the legendary car models.
He has his die-hard fans. Moreover, it often shares them with the two other reference atomizers in Europe: Taifun and Kayfun.
The price is always prohibitive, almost 150 €, it is the price of a complete mid-range set-up. It is therefore certain that this will still make a good place for clones.
This new version arrives with its share of new features, but will that be enough to make me pass this slight feeling of aversion for the Squape that I can't really justify objectively? It's just a matter of feeling.
But can we really miss out on such a coveted atomizer? All I can tell you is that he is not going for a race won in advance.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
The Squape are examples in terms of quality and this version X (Dream) is no exception to the rule.
The design is original, but at the same time it respects the spirit of this series. At first glance, you know it's a Squape. Here again, I make the connection with the cars, it's a bit like a 911, the design evolves but still keeps the essence of the lineage.
The top of the ato is made up of a succession of hooks which form a sort of stack, in the spirit of the Mayan pyramid.
We find the triangular windows of the R version, but here, every second window adopts a trapezoidal shape.
The bottom of the atomizer accommodates the large airflow ring. It is pierced with 3 slits, two of them are diametrically opposed, and the third has no alter-ego. It is nicely embellished by the logo engraving.
Everything is stainless steel 316, the tank is made of borosilicate glass, the conductive parts are gold plated. The vaporization chamber it, is in two parts. It is made of aluminum covered with the famous Ematal treatment, this electrically insulating coating avoids short circuits in case of contact between the coils and the chamber.
There is a slight gap between the base and the airflow ring, some see it as a defect, but this feature is essential I think, to the ingenious system which replaces the traditional thread between the tank and the base, we will talk about it again lower.
We can only bow to the quality that emerges from this Squape and, even if the price is high, it seems consistent with this product which benefits from Swiss machining precision.

The Squape adopts filling from the top, made possible, in particular by this new system of rotation of the base, coupled to the upper ring of the vaporization chamber.
Indeed, the system which unites the base and the tank, responsible for the gap, has three positions. Once in the closed position, the Ematal ring closes the air and juice inlets. A central position, which allows you to remove the base with the mounting plate without any leakage, even with the tank full, it's really great, you can intervene on your coils at any time it's bluffing. The third position opens everything (juice and airflow) and allows you to vape, you guessed it.
By the way, the assembly plate is as usual super accessible and you can make single or double coils with great ease.
To finish with the vape position, this system surprised me a little at the beginning but we must recognize its efficiency and as for the slight gap, it is inevitable, this system needs a little play to be operational.
The 510 gold-plated connector is adjustable, which ensures the flush attitude.
Finally, the airflow ring fulfills its role perfectly, it is precise and efficient, it is neither too flexible nor too hard.
We are in the presence of a versatile atomizer, the technical solutions of which seem interesting to me.

The drip-tip is present. It is, like the rest, well machined and perfectly held in place by two O-rings. It finishes the atomizer perfectly and adapts well to the vape produced by this Squape.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
The package is not bad. A cardboard sleeve stamped with the name which incorporates the logo and the silhouette of the atomizer. A black and red box closed with a magnetic flap. Here again, the logo and of course the Swiss cross.
Inside, a flexible foam protects the atomizer and spare parts including a tank. A notice is present but only in German and English. Obviously, our Swiss friends want us to work on foreign languages because there is not a word of French.
I think it would be great if the price wasn't that high. But at 150 €, I think we could have more adapted in the French-speaking understanding of the product.

The Squape and a comfortable atomizer for the everyday. Its filling system works nickel.
Its capacity is quite suitable. The board is very accessible as I have already said, facilitating assembly, whether in single or double coil.
The airflow adjustment is effective and allows to consider a lot of assemblies.
The atomizer is easily disassembled and allows easy cleaning.
It provides a pleasant vape, a good restitution of flavors and a quantity of honorable vapor.
A complete atomizer and really perfect for the everyday vape, so of course, you are not afraid of exposing a 150 € atomizer to the pangs of everyday life.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
Here I am. I wasn't particularly keen on testing this new Squape. As I told you at the beginning, I did not have a good feeling with this famous line of Swiss atomizers. The first hours, entangled in my prejudices, I did not see the reasons to spend 150 € to acquire this new version. The base fixing system with the “tanknet”, its three positions did not speak to me. Then faced with the enthusiasm of some for the product, I put aside my preconceptions and I became aware of the practicality of this system, both for the filling and for the ease of access to the coil , even the full tank.
I then vaped in single and double coil and, my faith, I found my account. The airflow is efficient, not as airy as my favorite sub-ohm atomizers. It still offers good versatility and a good restitution of flavors.
Add to that very good machining quality, good materials and you have a perfect example of a European high-end atomizer (yes I know, Switzerland is not part of the Union).
The only real drag is undoubtedly the price. At 150 €, the quality is expensive and suddenly the price / quality ratio of vape may not be at the top level.
Objectively it is a top atomizer. I already know that a large number will go to cheap Chinese clones, but beware, the technical solutions chosen by the Swiss require a lot of precision and I am not sure that this is reproduced well.
In the end, a great achievement which breathes new life into this sacred monster, too bad it is for me a little out of my current budget (the holidays are getting ready), because otherwise I would have done one of my companions.
