Newcomer to the Squape series, the Squape X (Dream) is the new atomizer of the Swiss moderator StattQualm.
We are in the presence of a high-end material that I already consider a real piece of goldsmith's work.
This new version brings us a lot of novelties - like 3 positions of its base - and it is with impatience that I am about to dissect the machine.
The price is substantial, of course. Take out 150 euros for this type of material… Nevertheless, it seems to me justified at this stage of “out of the box” but also knowing the reputation of our Swiss friends. Just at the stage of this first grip it is clear that the quality is present.

This is not a surprise, the quality is real and there. I confirm my comments from the previous chapter mentioning a real piece of goldsmith.
This is the mark of StattQualm and I have in front of me the proof that this reputation is not usurped.
I would call his look rather classic and I like it enough. Knowing that all tastes are in nature I let you judge for yourself.
Its appearance is rather sober despite its somewhat massive air. As on its older brother, the Squape R, the tank is well protected and will allow us to avoid the addition of this horrible silicone ring supposed to protect the most exposed Pyrex tanks.
Each ato is numbered and as usual, we find the engraving under the base. The manufacturer's logo is located on the airflow ring which I appreciate the discretion of good quality. It's a bit their mark on our Swiss neighbors, isn't it?
The body of the ato and the base are in 1,4404 / 316 L stainless steel, while the glass of the tank, which is quite thick, is in borosilicate glass.
The ring of the plate and its double, necessary for the original system of closing / positioning of the ato, is in aluminum with a non-conductive Ematal treatment, thus protecting against short circuits.
The studs of the workstation are them, gold-plated ECOBRASS® (special brass) and a rather large diameter (2,2 mm) offering a wide range of usable resistives.
To specify that this complete disassembly of the beast makes it possible to note that the various machining are really of very beautiful invoice.

Reviewer's comments on functional features
As generally on atomizers of this year 2016, the Squape X fills from the top. The plate screwed onto the upper part of the atomization chamber is pierced with 6 generous openings allowing to pour directly into the bottle for those who are not equipped with the famous pipette. Very practical, especially for in-flight refueling with your favorite juice.
The “3 mod-lock” from StattQualm. This is where we praise the virtues of the system. No more juggling with the airflow ring to fill and expel the air from the ato. Here, as the name suggests, there are 3 positions and it is not possible to go wrong.
A closed mode. And it's totally closed. The ring system, the famous Ematal treatment, completely and effectively closes the airflows.
For the record, I had no leaks when filling and during transport during the entire time I used it, and yet I sometimes found it totally upside down in my bag while it was filled to the max. For my part, it is the very first atomizer that I see as effective on this criterion.
A vape mode. Opposite to closed mode. You vaporize as on any material by adopting your setting at the air inlets.
And finally, an intermediate mode that allows you to get out the base without having to empty the tank to intervene on the assembly.
There is nothing revolutionary, since it is already possible to dismantle atos, with a full tank, but this is the first time that I have found the system so clearly successful. Just for this aspect I give it a separate ranking in my list of equipment to acquire.
Concerning the plateau. It is very practical, with enough room to be comfortable when making your coils. It offers the possibility of mounting in single or double coils.
I have a small downside on this point. Small, I will explain then why. I think that with the available location it would have been nice to give us a little more space. I appreciate the assemblies on axis 3 in diameter and it goes super fine.
In single, it is limited with the studs and in double it is the ring which limits the diameter. With resistive in Kanthal or Nickel no problem, on the other hand, with clapton wire or other barbed wire that many people like today… well, it doesn't work…
To conclude this chapter of functional characteristics, I will tell you that the pin is adjustable, allowing you to add the mod of your choice and that I found the airflow ring rather pleasant. Sufficiently braked, it holds enough to maintain the setting and is not too hard, something which quickly becomes painful with the viscosity of the products we use.

Harmonious with the whole atomizer, this drip-tip is perfectly made. The presence of O-rings of good size allowing it to hold perfectly in place.
Its rather small diameter promotes a precise vape and will be ideal for moderate powers. Personally, I still preferred one of my good old 510 Teflon ™ when I pushed the watts.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
A beautiful setting for this Squape X (Dream). StattQualm offers us beautifully made packaging, as usual.
I loved the magnetic box flap. The sheath encloses it with its 3D effect and the rather successful marriage of colors.
Another point that I noted, the importance of which can be put into perspective, but which I personally find, corresponds to the little attentions normal at this price and which are unfortunately not legion. The bag of “spare parts” with the Squape logo; the class.
The supplied Alen key. Here again we are on the quality. I expected it to be out of order as it often happens after 2 or 3 assemblies ... well, no! The build quality is hidden there too.
And finally a good point for the replacement glass despite the good protection of the latter.
Obviously, we do not vape the packaging but I find these attentions important and respectful of a consumer who has invested a nice sum.
Appreciations in use

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
Easy going this Squape. Here is the first objective feeling that comes to mind.
The particularly well thought-out “3 mod-lock” system is practical in use.
I come back for a moment on my downside about the big assemblies which seem difficult to me on this ato. In order to push the Squape to its limits, I wanted to make large diameter coils with substantial resistive. The Squape X is not sold as a sub-ohm clearomizer, but I wanted to check its behavior. Clearly this is not his cup of tea. As I said, we will be limited by the wire, but it is above all the heating and the loss of flavor that are damaging.
Apart from this “barbaric” misuse, he behaves like a prince. The Temperature Control is a treat and the rendering offered just perfect. In this chapter of flavors, I only know some drippers to exceed it in the restitution and precision of the aromas.
The airflow ring poses no problem with a good range of adjustments, the filling is easy as well as the dismantling of the beast for its cleaning session.
To conclude, I would also like to point out that I had no dry hits even with the most viscous juices.
