At the time, we did not hide our disappointment with this product and we, with the help of our sponsor, passed the information on to the manufacturer. The box, which on paper had it all, had some really crippling flaws in use. As a reminder:

Screen color but placed under a slab smoke so almost invisible.
Magnetic access cover to the batteries but not holding in place.
Huge latency between firing and heating the coil.
Problems of too high voltage delivered by mod.
Size and weight irrelevant for a box 60W
Bugs between protections and their implementation and / or display.

The manufacturer has therefore worked on its product and therefore offers a new version of the SMY60, before the next one which is emerging for quickly, which will be equipped with temperature control and which will be a smaller size. We appreciated being heard by the importer and the manufacturer and we believe we have played our role, in the best interest of the consumer, the shops but also for the product itself.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

No changes in the dimensions and weight of the SMY60. We are therefore in the presence of a rather imposing box, not because of a single particularly disproportionate dimension but rather because all the dimensions are quite imposing: width, height and depth. Which makes it a fairly large box in hand for a model using only one battery. The manufacturer must have realized his mistake since the next SMY60 will finally have a mini format, more suited to the power it delivers and which many competitors manage to concentrate in a more compact format. The SMY 60, in the current state of things, offers a format more suited to a double-battery box.

On the other hand, Simeiyue has perfectly reworked the negative points that we raised concerning the finish and the famous screen. This one, placed behind a transparent screen, literally farts at the glance and we can finally admire the colors, the famous meter which, although useless, is not less nice and the size of this display which makes all available. information without having to squint. A big bravo therefore for having reviewed this aspect and for having kept the presence of an intensity display, very useful especially in high power.

The access cover to the battery has finally been optimized and it does not rattle as before. The manufacturer just changed the guide screws, which, benefiting from a larger head, keep the bonnet perfectly where it should be. Considering the discomfort caused by the old system, this is a huge improvement at little cost.

Everything that made the interest of this box in terms of quality was therefore either revised when it was not going well, or maintained when it did not pose a problem, such as the excellent mechanical support of the motherboard without an ounce. glue.

In this chapter, too, the builder has done a good job. Total reprogramming which means that the latency, although still noticeable, is much lower than before. We now have a latency equivalent to that of a SMOK M80. Even if that doesn't make it the most responsive box on the market, it still holds up very well.

Ditto for the voltage which is much better regulated than before. We have a pleasant vape, even at low power, even if the box seems more ready to do battle on high powers.

No more display or protection bugs either. The box collects up to 0.3Ω, so I put a dripper mounted in 0.2Ω. As a result, she displayed the correct resistance but refused to fire by displaying “Low Resistance”, therefore typically what is expected of her. A flawless result from intelligent reprogramming. We can therefore appreciate the fact of vape serenely by having a beautiful object in the hands, well finished and very solid in appearance, with a little extra for the carbon fiber part of the magnetic panel, very well made.

In use, the mod does not provide any bad surprises. Its imposing size will make it more suitable for big hands, but apart from this warning, there is no longer any hidden “wolf” that will jump in your face. The vape is well regulated, pleasant at low power and very angry at high power, a real Porsche! I note all the same a very small defect: the insertion of the battery is not the most practical. The cradle is cut short so the battery must be presented parallel to the cradle so that it is positioned at the first attempt without forcing. It's just a habit to take. Without forgetting that, the mod being rechargeable by a micro USB / USB socket, we are not supposed to do this manipulation all the time either, even if we sometimes forget that a battery charged in a good independent charger will have a better resistance over time. But let's face it, this is little and that all the other boxes are housed in the same boat.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

I am silent, I am silent…. First because it's hot and the heat wave makes me boil what serves as my brain and secondly because I have nothing to say.

Simeiyue has met all expectations regarding his product. Better still, the manufacturer has been able to make amends by proposing the long-awaited product, which works well, which is good, which is well finished and which, finally, holds all the enticing promises that had been made.

This deserves a big tip of the hat. Listening to vapers seems to me to be the best way to offer a competitive product that is really in line with market demand and Simeiyue has heard where others are turning a deaf ear. However, even if the quality of this box is no longer in question, it seems obvious that the time spent on these multiple adjustments results in the fact that it is no longer really in tune with the times and that since then, a lot of brands have released more compact models, also more powerful and with a more modern aesthetic.

But objectively, there are only two really negative points in my opinion: the rather imposing size and the fact that the SMY60 Mini TC will soon be released, which will be equipped with temperature control. For the rest, it's the great game of a manufacturer who has understood that it is better to hold on than to run, and this is a behavior to be welcomed as it should be.
