Reviewer comments on business characteristics

The Riftcore of Joyetech, it is the return of the long-lasting resistances that one could discover on the Altus de Guo or on the Para Tank of Vaping Outlaws.
Indeed Joyetech is trying to revive the resistances on the basis of ceramic plates, already exploited but which had not been up to our hopes. A resistance capable of taking 1 million shots, we all dream of it.
This new clearomizer takes up the principle but there have been some changes. The first is that there is no longer one, but two resistances.

An atomizer offered at an average price of 49.90 €, which fits well with the positioning of the famous Chinese brand.
Let's see if Joyetech manages to make effective this technology that always seems so attractive despite the setbacks of previous models.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

The Riftcore Duo is a beautiful baby 26mm diameter for 38mm high, it is well built.

But his modern design that seems to take inspiration from the SF 80 / 90 style, allows him not to sink into the massif without a certain finesse.

We also notice a pyrex tank with a bevelled perimeter, this creates a slight drop that allows to lighten the overall design by creating a thinning at the level of the base and the top-tank.

Our new atomizer is wearing a pretty 510 drip-tip, quite wide snakeskin style.
At the bottom, you can't miss the three Cyclops-type “airholes” that promise a very airy vape. Of course, the size of the latter is variable using the airflow ring. The decorative elements that adorn it will be very practical to have a good grip on it.

Functional features

  • Connection type: 510
  • Adjustable positive stud? Yes, through an adjustment by thread, the assembly will be flush in all cases.
  • Presence of air flow regulation? Yes, but fixed only
  • Diameter in mm maximum of the air regulation possible: 10
  • Minimum diameter in mm of the air regulation possible: 0.3
  • Positioning of the air regulation: Below and benefiting the resistances
  • Atomization chamber type: Bell type
  • Heat dissipation of the product: Low

Reviewer's comments on functional features

As you can imagine, the Riftcore has everything you need to stick to market standards.
To start with, a top filling system. To do this, we find a sliding top-cap (more and more frequent system) which gives access to an orifice of a correct size in the shape of a “bean”.

Let's continue with the air supply to our coils (resistance in good French). The airflow adjustment ring will vary the size of the three cyclops-type slots.

Finally, the most interesting about this atomizer is obviously its so-called RFC heat coils. To put it simply, these are almost permanent resistors made in the USA. Joyetech announces us a million ignition on your favorite mod. By starting on 300 puffs per day it gives us a lifespan of more than 9 years. So if all is well, you will never have to change them unless you do not follow the care instructions given by joyetech, then you will just have to change the cotton wick regularly.

The advantage of its “small plates” is that they release less harmful substances than traditional coils thanks to their great “physical” stability when heated.
On paper, no doubt this Riftcore has arguments to make, remains to see now what it gives in practice.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Drip tip type: 510 Only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Medium
  • Quality of the present drip-tip: Good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The supplied drip-tip is very much in tune with the times. It looks a lot like the tip found on TFV 12 prince.
It is a 510 type drip-tip, well hollowed out which should correspond well to the vape produced by the system.
In terms of look, it's pretty, the color is in perfect harmony with the shade of the atomizer and this very trendy reptile skin decor will appeal to as many people as possible ...

Evaluation of the packaging

  • Presence of a box accompanying the product: Yes
  • Would you say that the packaging is up to the price of the product? Yes
  • Presence of a user manual? Yes
  • Is the manual understandable for a non-English speaker? Yes
  • Does the manual explain ALL features? Yes

Vapelier's note on packaging: 5 / 5 5 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

There is nothing wrong with Joyetech on the presentation. A black rigid cardboard box which is protected by a sheath on which we find in the foreground the photo of our atomizer with a close-up on the RFC coils next to it. Warnings and contents of the pack are found on the other sides of this skin. The contents of the box are also up to expectations, gaskets, cotton, template, spare tank, everything is there. In addition, as always a complete and clear manual translated into several languages including French.

Appreciations in use

  • Transport facilities with the mod of the test configuration: Ok for an external jacket pocket (no deformations)
  • Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Easy but requires a workspace
  • Filling facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
  • Easy to change resistors: Easy but requires a workspace to lose nothing
  • Is it possible to use this product throughout the day with several vials of EJuice? Yes perfectly
  • Was there leak after one day of use? No
  • In the event of leaks during the tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occurred:

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 4 / 5 4 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

To start on this theme, we will focus on the famous RFC resistors.

They come to us from the USA and are guaranteed for life. In theory, you will never have to disassemble them, to clean the coils we advise you to perform some dry burn at 30W. Even if they had to be dismantled, it would be enough to simply loosen four screws, an extremely simple operation.
For the wick, we cut two small strips of cotton in a pad using a metal template.

Then we slide them between the two heating plates using the tweezers provided in the pack. It's super simple and no adjustment cutouts are required.
Then, as always cotton is imbibed before putting the bell and the tank in place.

The time for filling comes, push the top-cap which slides and voila. The orifice thus discovered is of sufficient size to allow the use of most vial tips.
As for the sensations of vape they are… not bad. The very first puffs are a bit noisy but the sensation fades quite quickly. These resistors react well after a first shot a bit diesel, the production of steam is correct without being monumental. The restitution of flavors is adequate, we are much better than with the first atomizers of their kind, we are not on the surgical side, we are on the same level as the TFV type aerial clearomiser.
There are nevertheless two faults, the first is that these small resistors are greedy in energy, I had the impression that my batteries were going down faster than usual. But the most annoying is the poor heat dissipation, the atomizer heats up quickly when you chain a few puffs.

Recommendations for use

  • What type of mod is it recommended to use this product with? Electronic
  • With which mod model is it advisable to use this product? I would say an electronic double battery box
  • With which type of EJuice is it advisable to use this product? All liquids without problem
  • Description of the test configuration used: Riftcore Associated with the infinite spy box
  • Description of the ideal configuration with this product: I find it well suited to the infinite spy box

was the product liked by the reviewer: Yes

Overall average of the Vapelier for this product: 4.3 / 5 4.3 5 out of stars

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Joyetech has managed to breathe new life into this concept of permanent resistance. Guo's first attempts or Vaping outlaws weren't very successful, but Riftcore seems able to change things.
Indeed, the idea of putting two “heating plates” on either side of the wick seems to be one of the keys to this progress. In addition, this arrangement greatly facilitates the placement of the cotton so, even an inexperienced vaper will succeed without difficulty.

As for the rest, the atomizer is at the level of what is done in the field of air clearomizers in vogue.
The sensations are quite good, the Riftcore produces a very decent amount of vapor without being a big cloud maker. And in terms of flavors, I would say that we are at the level of a TFV8, which is very good!

Regarding its faults: it heats a little too much and it is quite energy-consuming but against no leak to be feared.
So I would say that this new attempt to offer us an “eternal” coil atomizer is proving to be quite successful, there are probably still a few things to improve but we are on the right track especially if we take into account the fact that these resistors are less harmful than the classics.

Good Vape,

Vince.
