Renovate or customize the sheath of its accumulators

Many people throw their batteries, the fault of a damaged sheath, while the latter could still serve.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to refurbish your batteries and the hardware needed to do it.

First things to get: sheaths. There are several colors, precut or not.

You will find them among others on a well known site: Fasttech.

Example of a transparent precut sheath: fasttech.com/p/2155601

In the case of a rechargeable battery on the positive, I advise you to change also the upper insulator.

Nipple version: fasttech.com/p/2157503

Let's go to the necessary tools:

You will need a scalpel or a cutter to cut the old sheath and a heat gun to retract the sheath. (Madame's hair dryer will do the trick but shhh, I didn't tell you anything)

Let's go ?

To start, you will have to remove the damaged sheath.

Then, we check the state of the insulator and change it if necessary.

We insert his battery naked in the new sheath and it is placed in the middle of the pile.

Start the heating without insistence by the positive side then go down to the bottom of the battery.

A good video is better than a thousand speeches!

Voila, your batteries are like new but they are very dull… what if we customized them a little?

The operation is simple, since it consists of inserting an image of your choice between the battery and the sheath.

Open your favorite photo software and make a 65 mm x 58.5 mm frame.

Place the photo of Medor or the mother-in-law, and crop it to the proportions mentioned above (to crop the mother-in-law, courage) and print it all.

Voila, your background is ready to be inserted.

The sheath is quite small, it will take ¼ of the photo first

Slide your battery into the protruding part of the photo and drag it all.

All you have to do is heat up to restrict the sheath.

Voila, your batteries are "pimped" !!

Small warning: If your sheath is damaged because of the overheating of the battery, do not take risks, and throw everything directly in the trash!
