An unrecognized Chinese brand, Gemz, offers us an RTA with a filling system from the top. Original, no?
The Prime Mover RTA is an atomizer equipped with a double coil plate and a 3ml tank. Intended, as it should be, for a direct inhaled vape, this product joins the armada of RTA atomizers which has invaded the market for a little over a year.
Regarding the price, this atomizer remains untraceable in French shops where it has obviously not found its place. You will find it in Chinese shops at a price of around 25 €.
So let's see if this Prime Mover is worth looking for a way to get it from a foreign site.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
The overall shape of the atomizer is quite “classic”, an 810-type drip-tip, a slightly domed top-cap, a tank which reveals the bell which covers the plate and an airflow ring at the base. If we look at it in more detail, we notice that the top-cap is decorated with fine engravings representing cogs in a steampunk style. We therefore have a design that is rather pleasing to the eye.
On the other hand, its shape changes a bit if we equip it with the “original” filling system. Indeed, the atomizer grows by several millimeters, a straight section is placed between the top-cap and the tank. So, I find that the basic cool look is a bit jostled in this setup.
The mounting plate is also quite original with its two posts equipped with triangular holes. The tray is gold plated for better conductivity.
The owner's turn is finished with a traditional airflow ring pierced with two Cyclops-type slots and decorated with two geometric-shaped engravings.
The overall quality looks good, the design is correct, remains to see how it works.

Our Prime Mover is equipped with one or rather two top filling systems. Indeed, you have the choice between two parts at the level of the drip-tip, a short and a long.
If you opt for the short, you just have to unscrew it to fill the tank.
If you put the long piece, then you just have to press on the top-cap and rotate it to block it and proceed to the filling.
The plate is made for double coil assemblies, the two posts are only drilled with a single triangular-shaped hole, so you will have to “cross” the legs of your resistors.
Finally, the airflow system is very traditional, a rotating ring at the base of the atomizer allows you to vary the size of the airholes. The air arrives directly under each coil.
We therefore have an atomizer which is equipped with the essential elements to perform well in the race, you just have to see how it works.

There are two different tips available in the pack but they are identical at the mouth end. We are therefore entitled to a fairly short 810 type drip-tip, we notice a seal inside which leaves the possibility of adding a traditional 510 tip. I'm not sure it's really useful, especially since I don't find the solution very aesthetic.
In any case, the tip present corresponds to the vape generated by the atomizer.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
Gemz has chosen a presentation that gives pride of place to gold. Indeed, our atomizer arrives in a cardboard box of this shade. A thinner cardboard sleeve surrounds it, with the photo of the atomizer, the name of the beast, the brand on it and the content and the normative logos on the back.
The pack includes the atomizer and its two tips, gaskets, coils, a replacement tank and a small polishing cloth. Everything is there, nothing is missing, there is even an illustrated manual with many photos but not translated.
A presentation more than adequate in view of the price displayed.
Appreciations in use

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
To start, let's talk about editing. The resistors are very easy to position even if they share the same fixing holes. They are of good size and their triangular shape makes it possible to tighten the legs of the coils without risk of deformation of the spirals.
The placement of the cotton does not pose any particular problem, the wicks naturally find their place in the four small spaces on the assembly plate. However, it will be necessary to find the right quantity of cotton because otherwise there will be a risk of leakage through the air inlets.
The filling is also very easy. The system that I would qualify as fast, the one where you just have to press the top-cap and turn it a quarter of a turn is certainly practical but it leaves a somewhat limited space which is not very relevant with the bottles. unicorn with large tips.
The second system is a little less practical since it is necessary to unscrew the drip-tip completely. On the other hand, the space for the filling is more important. For me, it will be the second because in addition I find that it gives a more beautiful look to the atomizer.
The air flow adjustment is very classic, it is easy to use and quite precise.
As for the vape, we have a good production of vapor and a good restitution of the aromas, no problem, it is indeed a good RTA.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
Gemz therefore offers us a well-made RTA atomizer. Its Steampunk-inspired look is quite successful although, I repeat again, I find it loses its superb in the fast fill configuration.
The assembly is rather simple, it will just be necessary to measure its cotton well but that is a rule common to all atomizers which have an airflow in the low position.
The filling is done simply from the top even if the most innovative system proves impractical with certain bottles in addition to being unsightly.
The sensations are rather good, it is placed in the good average of this family of atomizers. You just have to be aware that the Prime Mover is intended for a vape in direct inhalation, even if the airflow allows you to vary the air supply and approach a flow compatible with an MTL vape, the double coil plate don't really give him a choice.
In the end, we have a pretty nice atomizer that will go perfectly with the Steampunk type boxes from Tesla for example, you just have to find a shop that references it but it will not be a French shop, at least for the instant.
