Comments on the packaging

Flavor Art, a pioneer brand of vaping and DIY in Europe, presents one of its references, the Latakia.

Very focused on safety, the brand claims production without protein, GMO, diacetyl, preservative, sweetener, coloring, gluten and no more alcohol. We are therefore guaranteed to avoid most of the problems associated with the voluntary or involuntary introduction of questionable molecules.

Latakia is part of the classic range dedicated to tobacco composed of a ratio of 50% PG, 40% VG, the rest being divided between aromatic compounds, Milli-Q water and nicotine. This is offered to us in various rates: 0, 4.5, 9 and 18mg / ml.

The bottle is made of PET, which is probably insufficiently flexible to be really comfortable in complex filling. However, if you look carefully, you realize that there is an area at the top of the bottle which is much softer. The stopper / dropper tandem is quite original since the stopper does not separate from the bottle. The tip is thin enough for any type of filling, even if the presence of the stopper may interfere in some cases. It looks like this conditioning will change in the near future.

With a price of 5.50 €, we are of course on the entry level. The price corresponds to the core target of the manufacturer: first-time vapers and experienced people who do not want to change their vaping habits.

Vapelier's note regarding the respect of various conformities (except religious): 4.63 / 5 4.6 5 out of stars

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

No glaring problem concerning the legal aspects, except the absence of certain pictograms which will quickly become compulsory. Written warnings counter this absence.

We note the presence of distilled water which weighs down the note a little but which is in no way a source of possible problems.

Child safety is different from that usually used. It consists of pressing on both sides of the cap to allow it to be unlocked. We can be wary of the efficiency but it works very well in use.

The name of the laboratory and a telephone number complete the range to ensure unblemished visibility and transparency. Some information is at the limit of visibility but it is the game of 10ml bottles overloaded with information.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes
  • The packaging effort made is in accordance with the price category: Yes

Comments on the packaging

The packaging is traditional. If we except the stopper / dropper unit which will probably disappear in the next batches, nothing exceptional distinguishes this bottle from the whole production in this level of the range.

The manufacturer's logo covers the label, overlying an illustration relating to the product name, which name appears roughly within the image. Nothing very artistic here but just a simple bottle that is neither exceptional nor unworthy and announces the color of an entry-level liquid.

About color, that of the cap varies depending on the level of nicotine. Green for 0, light blue for 4.5, dark blue for 9, and red for 18.

Comments on the taste of the juice

To fully understand what this liquid promises us, we must know that Latakia is not a kind of tobacco strictly speaking but a preparation of the leaf involving drying over an oak wood fire. A tobacco with a pronounced smoky taste is thus obtained which, as a general rule, complements many other tobaccos to provide them with a naturally woody taste.

Here, we have a tobacco blend that undoubtedly involves a fairly sweet blond virginia mixed with Latakia. We therefore find the woody aspect but rather weakly to be honest, especially at the end of the exhalation through the nostrils. The homemade treatment which consists in favoring a certain sweetness defeats the purpose of this recipe a little and the sweetness takes precedence over the wood.

At the end of the mouth, there is a fleeting aniseed note, very diffuse, which gives a particularity to this blend. It is not bad, far from it, but we remain unsatisfied because the whole is singularly lacking in strength and character.

For confirmed vapers, this e-liquid will seem rather bland, which is probably the limit of this juice which promises a very aromatic assembly that is absent at the time of the verdict.

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

With a nice vapor for the VG ratio, the Latakia seems rather to register as an e-liquid for beginners. In my opinion, it will therefore have to be confined in fairly tight clearomizers which will be able to sharpen its taste a little.

Unconvincing on reconstructable devices, it can nevertheless withstand strong enough powers but will not, however, acquire any additional character.

To serve in warm / hot temperature, as befits a tobacco.

My mood ticket on this juice

What makes the uniqueness of this range as a whole, namely the gentle treatment of the aromas, can represent for some references a culinary impasse. Indeed, some assemblages need strength to express themselves at best.

This is the case, among others, of Latakia which is objectively a good sweet tobacco but which has only a very distant resemblance to the blends from which it is supposed to be inspired.

Perfect for beginners who smoked a little light brunettes but not showing enough interest for others, so it remains average, a little stuck between the desire to seduce wide and that of really suitable for those who want to find in the vape the variety of what they could find in elaborate tobaccos.
