Lips is the laboratory behind the Le French Liquide brand, but if we are talking about it today it is not for a new gourmet opus, but for Hardware.
Indeed, this French laboratory offers us its first kit, or rather its vision of the starter kit. The Koddo, as it is called, is an ultra-compact battery, which uses “Pods”. But kesako the pods, will you tell me? These are sealed 2ml liquid cartridges using nicotine salts, equipped with a 2Ω ceramic resistance.
The Koddo is aimed more particularly at first-time vapers and they will have to pay a minimum of € 38,90 to start since it will be necessary to add to the € 29.90 of the battery, the € 9.90 for three 2ml pods.

Let's talk about the battery first. First thing, it is very compact and very light. The design is very slender, simple and takes a flat shape. It is both elegant and discreet. Its body appears to be made of anodized aluminum. No button comes to interrupt the clean lines, we can only see a small diamond-shaped hole. It houses the LED which will tell you that your device is working properly.
The two edges are covered by two small black plastic plates, we can distinguish on each of them a very small circular hole, this is obviously what will serve as an air inlet and, given the diameter and the target customers , we can expect very tight.
There is a micro USB port on the base of Koddo.
No real top-cap, even less 510 connection, the battery is equipped with a housing intended to accommodate the pod. We see two small electrodes and two magnets distributed on either side of the small air inlet.
The pod therefore fits into this enclave, it is made of transparent plastic of dark color. The base is equipped with two magnets and two contacts antagonistic to those which populate the cavity of the battery. In the center, we find, I give you “Émile”, an air inlet. The body is a 2ml tank which contains ceramic resistance. It ends with a flat-shaped mouthpiece.

On this product, we could summarize this item by: ”the Koodo only vaporizes”. Indeed, we can not do more stripped down in terms of functionality. It's just a suction trigger battery paired with an all-in-one cartridge. But that would be a little unfair and reductive. Indeed, this product is very sophisticated despite this basic aspect.
Lips has visibly worked both on the liquid which uses nicotine salts and flavors optimized for this system, on 2Ω ceramic resistors and on the relationship between the airflow and the resistance value. He gives a name to the result obtained: Nicoplex, which promises a significant contribution of nicotine (10mg or 20mg) but with a very soft hit.
In addition, do not forget that the possibility of having several cartridges on you means that you can change flavor in real time, without having to clean anything. A major asset when you are still looking for your vape.
The built-in battery delivers a direct current of 3,6V, which gives us a vape around 7W. Wow, it's been at least… 5 years since I vaped at this power.
On paper, we therefore have a set-up that is easy to use but not devoid of ideas.

The presentation is a very “buralistic” presentation. Ouch, I think I will offend some members of the community including maybe the manufacturer. But I don't see anything pejorative, it means that the packaging is perfectly calibrated for great beginners. It is simple, refined, clear, it inspires quality and seriousness without being austere and, frankly, personally, I prefer to see a French lab like Lips release a product like this rather than Marl…. .
In any case, the presentation of the battery is very correct, it only lacks a manual. The product is super easy to use, but it would still be nice to find a manual to present it to us.
As for the pods, we are on an identical style. The box is very self-explanatory, we see three pods, the wholesale nicotine level and each flavor has its own color, which for me is the main characteristic of a product that must be easy to find in an office shelving. tobacco, sorry… classic office. Inside, our pods are hermetically packaged in a pharmaceutical type plastic and aluminum blister.
Again, this is very well thought out. If you store multiple flavors in your drawer, you would have no trouble distinguishing them. It's really not bad at all and very well found to attract the smoker, which is ultimately our goal.

We are on a very compact product, this e-cig is really made to follow you everywhere, in all discretion.
The use is childishly simple, you just have to take a pod, remove its plastic cover and its lid and you insert it into the Koodo. No defined meaning, no risk of error. In addition, the pod is perfectly held by the magnets.
Then you just have to “pull” on the mouthpiece and it works.
The airflow is very restricted, we are very close to the draw that we get on a cigarette. The flavors are present despite the low volume of vapor.
A pod will make the day to a minimum, 350mAh battery will not be enough but it recharges quickly and it also works in pass-through mode (while you charge it).
A practical and rather seductive product, which is really made to accompany you throughout the day if you start in the electronic cigarette.

This Koodo will undoubtedly make him talk. And this, good as well as bad.
To begin with, let's see the positive: an easy-to-use, practical and elegant kit. It will easily find a place in your everyday objects. But that's not all, our kit, in addition to being pretty and attractive, offers you a very wise vape, a draw very close to a cigarette and perfectly distilled flavors. Conversely, you will not have a huge amount of vapor but, on the other hand, you will have a good dose of nicotine without tearing your throat.
In short, an ideal product for beginners and, to be honest, I really appreciated the flavors developed, the addition of nicotine in the velvet is not to displease me and I am sure that it could convert more of it. a. And I don't even imagine if Lips is going into the hype right now, CBD, which could, again, attract other types of users. Only small downside in my opinion, without a recycling process, the widespread use of pods could eventually represent an ecological problem. No doubt that a central where we could return used pods and which would take care of their treatment as waste would be a plus to consider and develop. But let's stay positive, this remains more of a general opinion than a concrete defect.
But now, I also know that some will find this product too “Big Tobacco”, with this pre-filled tank system sealed to TPD standards and this very wise and not very vaporous vape.
