To accompany the series of subtanks, Kangertech presented us with its vision of the ideal box. Medium in size, equipped with rudimentary functions and visibly very solid, Kanger delivers an ultra simplistic machine that can nevertheless output 40 watts, for the modest sum of € 39,99. At first glance, it will not be love at first sight but who knows what will tell us what follows.

This box will not make you fall to your knees. No, he is not a “Top model”. The design is unattractive, a 25mm tube associated with a 20mm cubic module and no screen. Instead, there are two sets of 7 LEDs, a small interface button and, all the same, a nice switch. We have the impression of looking at a futuristic device, but imagined in the 70s. The aluminum of the case seems thick, but the coating does not seem strong enough to withstand the “little knocks of life” and that, c ' is a bit of a shame. Everything is properly assembled.

Attention, it will go quickly: 5 clicks, we turn on or off. We adjust the power with the single interface button and fire. A click and a led indicate the power chosen, the movement of this light cursor is in ascending order 8, 13, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40. No screen, so no resistance measurement or output voltage. The essential protections are however there: battery reversal, short circuit. The length of each puff is limited to 10 seconds. No frills, just the essentials! The box is really minimalist but it remains nevertheless super-efficient and finally this simplicity has an original side and gives it a kind of particular character. Finally, after having passed the not very exciting side of the first impression, we can easily be seduced by this simplicity in use.

Kangertech, as usual, takes care of the presentation. The box takes over the design of the Subtanks family. It's clean, rather pretty, and as usual the instructions are in French. No, really, kangertech shows us that it knows how to do it when it comes to packaging.

In use, and I will repeat myself, this product shines with its simplicity. Its reasonable size makes it easily transportable. The bottom cap is a little hard to target with the battery placed inside, because the spring is large and the battery is super adjusted. Moreover, opt instead for those with a flat head, without a nipple.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
Seeing her, you will understand that I was not really seduced by her aesthetic. Its abrupt look, its simplicity with archaic accents even had a repulsive effect at the beginning. I even told myself that Kangertech had wallowed in beauty. Apart from the price, I saw nothing that positively distinguished it from other boxes on the market.
But now, the super pleasant switch, the reactivity and the quality of vape have changed my outlook. Indeed, the beast is summary but ultimately this great simplicity takes us away for a moment from the race for power and functions. And we even come to appreciate not constantly glancing at the screen to check the resistance, the voltage, the puff time etc… Here, finally we vape more on the feeling. And that's good. And that's when I got the image of the Jeep Willys. Robust, simple but effective and made for everyday action. Its not “precious” but useful aspect will make you accept the scratches that will be inevitable given the type of coating used.
To conclude, I will say that I like it, beginners will see it as a gateway to the boxing world. The most seasoned will see it as a useful daily set-up that we will have no trouble exposing to the hazards of intensive use.
