Svoëmesto did not wait to give us the Kayfun 5, barely digested the Kayfun 3 released in January 2016 (Kayfun V3 Mini). One might think that the Kayfun 5 is the same as the 3 in a larger diameter, it's not totally wrong, but there are some very nice improvements.
The first, the most obvious, is the diameter which goes from 19mm to 22mm. The screws allowing the resistive to be maintained are bordered by guides which block the wire and the more aerial airflow is adjusted much better. The Kayfun 5 is intended for all vapers, beginners or confirmed, with always this simplicity of assembly in single coil.
The Kayfun series was always flavor-oriented and the sub-ohm was not really allowed. With this new album, we remain globally in the same spirit. Nevertheless, this atomizer can still lower its resistive value to 0.5Ω and give users a steam a little warmer and denser.
Its autonomy is generous with a capacity of 4ml with the Pyrex tank (and 5ml with the SS tank). Access to the editing is possible at any time. The liquid flow is adjustable and we have an open airflow at the bottom of 2 x 3.2mm.
It is also an atomizer that keeps, since these beginnings, a sleek line and curves similar to previous versions.

The Kayfun 5 is made of stainless steel 316L with a reduced number of parts compared to the 4 version (phew!).
The chosen steel is beautifully crafted with a brushed finish and the thickness of the material is comfortable for excellent strength. Moreover, the weight of the product is affected by a SS tank 13gr alone. The Pyrex tank also seems very solid although widely exposed.
The joints were coated with a silicone film in order to have a better friction between the different parts. All threads are flawless, no snagging and finishes of this atomizer are excellent.
For engravings, we find the logo of SvoëMesto on the drip-tip, on the bell and under the atomizer with the serial number of the product. All these engravings are clear and without burrs.
On the plate, the two screws which hold the resistive are of very good quality and the guides which are around have a good thickness to ensure the necessary solidity without deforming. Under the positive pad, you can see the correct thickness of the PEEK insulation which perfectly protects against the risk of short circuits.
The Kayfun 5 is of an irreproachable physical quality for a perfect solidity.

Reviewer's comments on functional features
The Kayfun 5, although oriented flavor, is also able, in sub-ohm, to provide a very beautiful dense vapor 0.5Ω associated with a correct power around the 35W.
This atomizer is also a little more airy, although its vape remains in line with these predecessors. Soft, comfortable and tight, it is also terribly pleasant but lacks a bit of lightness with very concentrated flavors when pushed to the extreme in 0.5Ω.
For the assembly, it is very easy in simple resistance, with an excellent maintenance of the resistive wire, as well by the solid screws, as by the two guides which prevent the wire from creating a short circuit if it is well positioned. .
Other features of the Kayfun 5: the adjustable pin, the flow of liquid that can be adapted to its mounting and the airflow that adjusts through the removable ring positioned on the base. This airflow allows several positions that correspond to earlier versions of the Kayfun series: 1,8mm (Kayfun Lite Plus) 2,2mm (Kayfun 4) 2,7mm (Kayfun 4S) 3,2mm (Kayfun 5).
The filling by the top-cap is very simple and access to the assembly without having to empty the tank is possible.

SvoëMesto, as always, provides us with a beautiful drip-tip engraved with his coat of arms. It is short, stainless steel with a teflon end, to have in the mouth a maximum comfort and the bet is successful. Where most manufacturers have put teflon on the base, this drip-tip is much more pleasant and without feeling the slightest heat. In addition, this aspect gives it a perfect and accomplished finish.
The engraving is intended to be much smaller than its predecessors and yet it stands out while remaining discreet. Magisterial, it sits divinely on this accessory of choice.

The packaging is a bit light for a high-end product. This packaging is separated into three flexible cardboard boxes. The first contains the atomizer, the second includes the seals, screws and the tank in SS with the instructions and finally, the last includes the first two.
So, the Kayfun 5 by Svoëmesto will be delivered with:
- A steel tank
- A spare seal kit with additional screws
- A detailed and illustrated manual only in English
A luxury product that deserves better. In particular at the level of the rigidity of the containers.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
In use, it's still so easy. However, Svoëmesto gives us the possibility to vary the assembly a little since the airflow allows it.
My first classic assembly in single coil is easy to achieve, with a resistive value of 1.2Ω. It's perfect, the flavors are there and the vapor remains normal.
I then used a little more worked wire, a "clapton" (26ga + 32ga), this one is just as easy to insert. However, it will be necessary to loosen the screws to pass this thickness more easily and the guides are incredibly effective since the resistive is perfectly positioned and blocked without the slightest difficulty.
With a value of 0.85Ω and a 80% VG fluid, the Kayfun 5 is perfect and performs well without any dry hit.
In order to push it to the maximum of its capacities, I finally made a double coil with a 0.4mm kanthal on a 2mm support with 8 turns for a total value of 0.5Ω, the airflow and the liquid flow open at the maximum with a juice loaded with glycerin. Despite all these parameters taken to the extreme (for a Kayfun), I had no dry hits, no leaks, a very dense vapor and the flavors, although slightly saturated by a narrow bell, are very present.
To facilitate the insertion of the wicks, on the plate around the poles, there is a semi-open ring, as for the Kayfun V3 mini, which constitutes two tanks at the bottom of which there are two holes for each. Thus, the wicks are placed intuitively on this background and soak up with each suction of the liquid which rises and passes through these openings with a capillarity which is done very well.
For filling and liquid flow control operation, the liquid flow adjustment is stepless, the flow can be regulated according to your resistance needs. But for filling, it must be completely closed before filling the tank. These tips are given by the manufacturer. Even without applying them, I did not notice any leaks, but a small blockage which quickly dissipated.
- To completely shut off the liquid inlet, take the base and turn the bowl in a clockwise motion until it stops.
- To fill the tank, the atomizer must be completely assembled with the resistance and the wick. Open the top fill port through the top-cap, fill the tank from the sides until the liquid level reaches the top end of the pyrex tank. Then close the top-cap.
- To open the liquid control completely, take the base and turn the tank in an anti-clockwise motion by two or three complete turns.
- To fine tune your liquid flow, you can adjust the liquid flow between these two possibilities, from fully open to fully closed.
The adjustment of the airflow is a little more complex but effective and particularly stable. Just open the flow of liquid to raise the tank and lift the ring located on the base to release the airholes (which are multiplied by two on both sides of the atomizer). Thus, on the washer which rests on the mod, one perceives points of reference which indicate the size the the airhole (1 point = 1,8mm, 2 points = 2,2mm, 3 points = 2,7mm and 4 points = 3,2mm, maximum flow). Once the airhole is placed at the same level as the chosen points, simply lower the ring.
Access to the plateau:
- Turn the atomizer upside down when the tank is full.
- Unscrew the base in the opposite direction of the hand of a watch.
- Remove the base to access the tray.
The only small flaw that I could find in the Kayfun 5 is a pin problem which tends to unscrew when handling this atomizer too much. After changing mods many times, the screw on the pin started to loosen which resulted in a somewhat wobbly atomizer and a distorted resistance value. This is simply adjusted by screwing the pin back on. I think a reverse machining of this thread could have overcome that.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Kayfun5 is a totally silent atomizer, which gives a nice vapor. But the most surprising remains the excellent restitution of flavors, with a very dense, round and soft vapor in the mouth. A velvet print. More airy than its predecessors, it is able to provide nice clouds in sub-ohm.
A nice performing product, of excellent quality of manufacture and design giving a perfect return of flavor and vapor. It is made for a daily vape on electronic mods but also (and especially) on mechanical mods with which it will feel perfectly good.
Simple for mounting, simple for filling, easy adjustment of the flow of the liquid, precise adjustment of the airflow and access to the assembly without emptying the tank, the Kayfun 5 offers everything and is perfect for beginners as well as the most experienced vapers.
However, watch out for pine that can easily unscrew. This is the price to pay for perfectly fitting parts and high-level threads, which also guarantees excellent machining quality.
