Comments on the packaging

No bad surprises on the packaging, Big Mouth ensures us a nice transparency as usual. Regarding transparency, the glass of the vial is also, which is less good for the conservation of e-liquid but which is in line with the price segment of the product.

The information is there. Depending on the color code used depending on the product, they will be more or less highlighted, especially in Jamaican Blue where the tone of the typo sometimes merges with the color of the background. Nothing serious however, it is well done.

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

The clarity continues in the chapter on safety with the presence of all the mandatory information and pictograms. We may regret, in terms of traceability, the absence of the name of the laboratory but we will console ourselves with the reassuring presence of a DLUO and a batch number, always useful in case of problems.

The very detailed composition of the product reveals the presence of natural flavors, propylene of vegetable origin, which is very good. It also reveals the presence of E133, a dye called Blue Brilliant FCF, which, although being legal in our country (after having been banned before the time to learn more about it) seems to me as useful as a Caterpillar to a flamingo, especially for a juice that seems tropical ... Too bad to include an unnecessary chemical in a composition based on natural products or plant origin. It's a bit like eating French fries with lean fish ...

There is also the presence of sucralose and the refreshing agent WS23, which are less questionable.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes

Comments on the packaging

“The Earth is blue like an orange” said Eluard. And the liquid is blue like a mango, we could retort here. The packaging is up to the task and we are surfing blue as far as the eye can see, a bit as if we were immersing ourselves in Jaws in the middle of January! It's pretty and declines the presentation of the brand with the now famous presence of the tongue, mascot of the manufacturer.

  • This liquid reminds me of: My second-grade chemistry teacher who was very sexy.

Comments on the taste of the juice

I remain skeptical after tasting the Jamaïcan Blue. It's not bad, far from it, but the result is, how to say, under the sign of duality.

Rather typical colored confectionery than realistic fruity, one enters in the mouth, in a cloud of freshness quite typical of the brand, a rather intense and sweet flavor where we distinguish mango and coconut. The cold is rather marked and permeates the palate, supported by any citrus fruit that remains present for a long time, tangy but not aggressive.

The reservation I have concerns the rather chemical taste of the whole, more syrup than fruit salad. And even if each aroma remains quite distinct, the taste remains very compact and stable and we do not really travel between the different tropical fruits that the rasta promises us.

Is it due to the presence of a fairly high dose sweetener or is the natural origin of the fruit aromas undergoing a “taste lamination” by the presence of the refreshing agent? I do not know. But in any case, if the Jamaican Blue is not bad, it will unfortunately not convince aficionados of realistic fruity fruits.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 25 W
  • Type of vapor obtained at this power: Dense

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

The Jamaïcan is tasted just as well in a flavored dripper as in a clearo thanks to its strong aromatic power and its all-round viscosity. The ideal temperature is rather warm-cold and moderate power.

My mood ticket on this juice

Blue.

The juice is blue!?!

My first question is: why? My second is: what's the point? And my last: is it really reasonable?

I do not think that adding a dye, even if it does not present a listed danger by ingestion, can bring anything to the taste quality of an e-liquid. I don't think it brings health benefits either. And I think even less that it can bring seriousness when the debate on the harmlessness of vaping in general and e-liquids in particular will be the major issue of the year 2016 for our common passion.

Not bad but not exceptional, the Jamaïcan Blue, is not convincing like other productions of the brand. Too bad. Try it out anyway, maybe you'll like that special chemical confectionery feeling? Me, I did not hang.

Blue ……
