We know Unicig well for its drippers. Very typical and popular with power-vapers, they have the particularity of presenting a rather impressive rendering, both in vapor and flavor, for a very low price if we compare them with the tenors of the market. To best accompany this range, we needed an aesthetically similar mod and the manufacturer did not hesitate to make his own, on the basis that we are never better served than by ourselves.

Thus was born the Indulgence first of the name that I have the great pleasure of holding in my feverish hand, accompanied of course by a dripper of the brand.

The Indulgence is presented as a simple mechanical mod, calling on proven techniques, available in black or stainless steel * and which retains the tariff retention typical of the brand.

What can you expect from a mod to accompany a powerful dripper? Excellent conductivity, flawless safety and a certain grip comfort. So this is all that we are going to go through now.

* Some countries also offer a copper version rare enough to find.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

The first thing that strikes you when you take the Muitation in hand is its fairly light weight despite the use of steel as the dominant material: 145gr battery included since I do not see the point of giving you the weight without the battery ... . who vape without a battery? 😉

The finish is quite impressive compared to the price and, even looking well, it is difficult to find any fault with it. The threads are very flexible and silent, the assemblies between the different parts are completely consistent. I will only issue one small reservation, that of the durability of the black lacquering on steel. As it is, this finish does not present any defect but certain past experiences tend to show that this type of finish tends to scratch, chip and come off. But nothing authorizes me to say that this will necessarily be the case with the Mutation. 

It therefore seems obvious that the price / quality ratio here is impressive. 59 € for an original mecha mod, made with care, it's so unexpected that it should be school!

Reviewer's comments on functional features

Despite the low rating in the field of features, this mod still has it all for him:

1. The connection points are all solid copper
2. The 510 stud is adjustable to fit any atomizer and it contains a screw to lock the battery in the tube / body.
3. The switch stroke is adjustable.
4. The switch is magnetic.
5. For reasons both aesthetic and safety, the mod is equipped with 18 small vents that remind the airholes drippers of the brand. 
6. The conductivity has nothing to envy to much more expensive mods and the volt-drop of around 0.4 is low, although this measurement also depends on the battery used AND the atomizer used.

The negative points are two in number:  

1. The absence of a switch locking system is still very practical when you carry your mod in a pocket or a bag. It is a shame to have made this dead end which condemns the Mutation to stay at home or to be transported with care.
2. The absence of air inlets on the top cap which de facto excludes all atomizers taking their air through the 510 connection. Even if they are rarer today, there are still people who vaporize on a first generation Squape for example and those can look elsewhere.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

The Mutation is delivered in a black cardboard box in a blister pack. The box displays the brand, the type, an internet address and a period that's all. No instructions for beginners in mechanics, no safety warnings. This is little. We can still console ourselves, in desperation, with the dense foam that will have protected your purchase to your home!

Despite these scathing remarks, it is still difficult to be choosy about this spartan packaging compared to the price at which the mod is sold. As some say: “you don't vape with the box!”. This is absolutely correct. But we don't walk with the boxes of our shoes either, but we like to buy them inside !!! 😈 

Appreciations in use

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

In use, this mod is pure happiness. It is suitable for all atomizers in diameter 22 or less. Its good conductivity makes it available for a large panel of resistors. It goes down to sub-ohm (within the limits of the possibilities of your battery, don't forget!) without problem and equipped with a battery with high constant discharge current, you will be able to taste the joys of power-vaping without any mechanical problem interfering in your vape.

However, it will be necessary to pay attention to the transport for the reasons mentioned above.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Very nice shot from the brand with eighteen holes which makes a “birdie” with this mod! 

Indeed, we can not blame it in its operation or in its finish. The biggest downside is only the lack of locking the switch. Otherwise, for the rest, it's impeccable and, in its pricing sector, this mod does not have many competitors who can overshadow it. Occupying this segment of the range brilliantly is not an easy thing because the cost constraints quickly become a concern, but Unicig did not procrastinate on quality and ultimately, it is the only thing that matters. 

An original set-up complete with a V4 dripper of the same brand is less than 80 €. Who says better?
