Innokin has always released interesting mods for a fair price. The first SVD of the name had been a real bestseller when it was released and even if it was not free from flaws, it is clear that it was able to delight a whole generation of vapers with a vape considered to be period as very interesting.
Here is the V2 of this same SVD which is undoubtedly coming out at the worst time since the fashion today is for the generalization of the box format and the race for power. However, this mod has some strong arguments to make when choosing an everyday mod that is easy to use and reliable.

Compared to its parent, the SVD 2.0 has taken a huge leap forward. Tubular in shape, it skips the telescopic approximation of its ancestor by offering two tubes provided which therefore allow you to choose between an 18650 mod and a 18350 mod. The finish is good, in brushed stainless steel and the mod is its weight but is quite usable on a daily basis without effort. The threads do not squeak, the connection elements are made of brass. The bottom cap ignores the eternal bare spring to instead offer a brass contact which is itself installed on a spring hidden by a black plastic. The top cap is removable and another top cap provided allows you to have an Ego connection, always useful in case of use with clearomizers. Everything exudes a solidity of good quality.

The look is classic, sober, very inspired by the old generations of mods despite the rounded appearance in the center of its body. This is not a fault but it could possibly be a brake for some looking for a mod with a more modern appearance.

The switch is exceptional because its stroke is specifically short and its use perfectly silent and smooth. Some may criticize it for being not very prominent compared to the body of the mod, which can indeed interfere at the start for the location but you get used to it very quickly and the flexibility of its operation will delight the most reluctant. We are far, very far from the approximate switch of certain electro mods, which turn on themselves, are excessively hard or lazy to cry. Here, the good finish is nested in the details and the switch is no exception.

The only flaw that I find it personally, although I admit that there too there is a question of taste, it is its size. Indeed, it is long. A little too long. It would not differ from a Vamo in terms of its height… On the other hand, I appreciated the diameter of 23mm at the top cap which makes it compatible with a multitude of atomizers in 22 and 23, which is still quite rare for an electro tubular mod. Friend of the Flush-Attitude, take out your Expromizer and other Taifun, this mod suits them like a glass slipper to Cinderella.

The great leap forward continues here compared to the previous generation. Indeed, Innokin worked with Evolv to adapt their flagship chipset, the DNA20, to the SVD. So, of course, one could object that Evolv has since released a DNA 30 and even a DNA 40 but the fact remains that the DNA 20 is a chipset still in the game and which benefits from a big rib in the community thanks to the quality of its smoothing and its reliability which has been proven and recognized since its release. Just remember the prices of mods that were equipped with it a year ago and you will find as I did that SVD 2.0 is becoming a great deal ...

We are not therefore on mod at the discount but rather on an object which capitalizes on sure values and which plays the card of sustainability rather than that of innovation. Also, we understand that the function of the object is not to seduce the most geeks among us, in search of great power or curious about any technological evolution but on the contrary to satisfy the consumer who vapes to a power between 10 and 20W, which is objectively the case for a large majority, ensuring a high quality vape rendering, stable, autonomous and delicious. The chipset in fact promoting a generous and precise rendering suitable for expressing all the flavors of an e-liquid with the help of a quality atomizer.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

Still no French on the menu of Chinese notices but that's the only flaw I find in the packaging. Indeed: two tubes for use in 18350 and in 18650, an additional top cap for use in Ego, a lace with carabiner, a battery charge tester as well as a hard and practical bag to carry everything ... this is the jackpot! An exemplary packaging that skilfully justifies the price of the mod. Indeed, if we count (with a ladle) an optional tube at 10 €, an optional top cap at 10 €, a bag at 10 €, a tester at 5 €, we get 35 € as a bonus for a total price of 90 €. Make the parallel with some brands that provide you with the minimum living, in the same range of power and quality of vape for a price multiplied by two, add the bonuses offered here and optional at home and you will get a much more impressive price . One could object that the metal is thicker, that the finish is better and other very real arguments that I do not think to deny but this does not devalue our SVD 2.0, which displays a particularly interesting quality / price ratio.

No problem on prolonged use ... The chipset is of exemplary stability, the body is solid and the vape does not weaken at any time. In addition, the cut-off is particularly long (25 seconds). The autonomy remains good but not exceptional. However, I must admit that I have more vaped around 20W than around 10w….

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Very good surprise! I who had not really appreciated the first SVD of the name, I admit having been pleasantly accompanied by version 2 during a few days of intensive vape. Obviously, this mod is not made for Power-Users or vapers looking for power or new technologies but it offers the great merit of bringing into a finally coherent price a chipset that many considered there is. a few more months like the holy grail of vaping.

Too large and endowed with an “old-fashioned” aesthetic, the SVD 2.0 is undoubtedly not the sex symbol of the year but the quality of its manufacture, the completeness of its packaging and the quality of its vape at powers that are all in all very usual positions it as a serious candidate when buying a beautiful mod at a price respectful of the consumer. The warranty is 6 months, which is little in absolute terms but remains superior to a large majority of its competitors.

In short, a timeless classic to serve you. Not pretentious, not “hype” but a great tool for a daily high quality vape.
