Reviewer comments on business characteristics

In complete opposition to the current fashion of cloud chasing drippers, the Hobbit comes to us from Middle-earth. Manufactured by Focus Ecig to which we already owe many bestsellers like the Storm A, the Hobbit is a mini monocoil dripper with a “flavor” character.
DIY fans and alchemists of all stripes, here is perhaps a new standard for taste ...

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

We are in the presence of a small dripper of good appearance. The seals do their job with great flexibility, which avoids getting excited every time you have to disassemble the different parts, but they hold well enough to be able to vape with peace of mind.
The 510 connection is not adjustable but its height is well calculated and I did not have any particular problems putting it on any mod.
No very conductive materials here, just a steel 304 of good quality but the destination of the Hobbit is more a test dripper than typed performance probably explains this choice.
A small regret, however, on the finish which remains correct but which will not stand out. The middle wall is very thin and if the material used suffers from no complaints, its thickness smacks of economy ...

Functional features

  • Adjustable positive plot? No, a flush mount can only be guaranteed through an adjustment of the positive pad of the battery or the mod on which it will be installed
  • Presence of air flow regulation? Yes, and variable
  • Diameter in mms maximum of the air regulation possible: 2
  • Minimum diameter in mms of the air regulation possible: 0.5
  • Positioning of the air regulation: From below and benefiting the resistances
  • Atomization chamber type: Conventional / reduced
  • Heat dissipation of the product: Low

Reviewer's comments on functional features

The airflow remains tight on the Hobbit, an understandable choice if we take into account the destination of the dripper. It can be adjusted by more or less obscuring the airhole by easily turning the middle wall but even open fully, the flow will remain quite tight, which helps to obtain more precise flavors.
Choose your drip-tip, teflon almost mandatory, because despite the cooling fins, the dripper heats quickly and very strong.

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The Hobbit being delivered without drip-tip, I advise you a teflon drip-tip so that the heat released by the device does not burn your lips.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

Not much to say in this area. A blank white cardboard box containing just a bag of spares. It is very little and does not value the product. Although the Hobbit is not at a high price, a “minimum service” would have been appreciated, at least to ensure safe transport of the dripper.

Appreciations in use

  • Transport facilities with the mod of the test configuration: Ok for a side pocket of Jean (no discomfort)
  • Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
  • Filling facilities: Super simple, even blind in the dark!
  • Easy to change resistors: Easy but requires a workspace to lose nothing
  • Is it possible to use this product throughout the day with several vials of EJuice? It will take a little juggling, but it is doable
  • Was there leak after one day of use? No
  • In the event of leaks during tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occurred

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 4 / 5 4 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

The Hobbit is easy to coil. Very easy even. Dosing the fiber used is simple and very intuitive. The air nozzle arrives below the resistance and is sufficiently raised to avoid leaks, provided of course not to excessively fill the space of the plate. This one has two mini-tanks and a rim, one can so all the same put a little liquid. But do not expect a great autonomy because the diameter of the tray prevents having a large juice reservoir.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

If we except a perfectible finish and if we integrate well that it is a test or tasting dripper and not a dripper for vaping with big clouds, we are faced with a product perfectly thought and which hits the mark in a category that has fewer and fewer contenders.

Here we have the perfect successor to the A7 or a budget version of the Cyclone. The rendering of flavors is exceptional and largely allows diyers to develop their recipes and gourmets to really taste a juice before filling a tank.

As for the price, low enough for an original, it is largely justified by the quality of the rendering and the surgical precision of the atomizer.

We will therefore not regret a finish that we could have hoped for better or a more massive construction because this dripper remains despite everything an excellent tool that does its job of taste-juice very well.

Even if it presents itself as a total outsider in the current market for drippers, I think it should appear in the toolbox of any vaper, if only to have a greater acuity on the e-liquids tested. .

In short, a great little dripper, hardworking and valiant, like the characters of Tolkien to whom he borrows his name.
