Smoktech is one of the very active Chinese players, since the success of its TFV4, Smok took part in the race for power.
He therefore offers us a new “Muscle Box” which displays a Maxi power of 220watts.
Taking up the concept of the strike developed with the X Cube series, the “little news” however displays reduced measurements.
We give up bluetooth, and we adopt a reasonable price, given the category in which this box evolves.

In its black and red suit, the H-Priv adopts a modern “sport looker” style. I immediately think of the GTI “Touch”.
In comparison with the X Cube series, it displays reduced measurements, which represents the first point of progression. We are not on the compact, but in a certain standardization, for a double 18650 battery box. Its weight is also lower, thanks to the use of the “zinc alloy”.
The firing bar occupies one of the sides and it is this part that adopts the color red. This concept is again, an improvement over the X Cube. Indeed, this time the mobile part is articulated around an axis, which stiffens the whole and suggests an increased resistance over time.
On the top-cap, a beautiful OLED screen is accompanied by the buttons [+] / [-] of good quality also. The coating looks good to me, but I think it will suffer from wear over time and the likely shocks it will receive.
The brass pin is spring loaded and the 510 thread is well machined.
Another improvement, the abandonment of the large facial access hatch to the batteries. The H-Priv is equipped with a small sliding red hatch placed at the bottom-cap. It does not suffer from any play, remains perfectly in place and offers very easy access to the double battery cradle.
The only small criticism I will make is a somewhat visible assembly approximation, it is noticeable in the evening, because the light from the screen filters through small spaces at the junction between the top-cap, the body and the fire bar.
Nothing bad, and overall the product has a positive quality aspect and the changes from the X Cube are beneficial.

With the H-Priv Smoktech remains on a very geek product.
All the popular fashions are present. Variable wattage mode, a TC mode compatible with Ni200, titanium and SS316 and a TCR mode. The ranges of use are as follows:
Output voltage: 0.35V - 8V

Temperature range: 100 ° C - 315 ° C
Resistance range in TC mode: from 0.06ohm to 3.0ohms

By the way, the box keeps the setting and configuration of the profile of the puff. It has 5 levels ranging from soft to max. They define the starting power, thus, in soft, the increase in power will be very gradual while in the max position there will be a big boost during the first 2 seconds of the pulse.
The box is of course equipped with all the essential security. You can adjust a lot of parameters and it includes a clock, a puff counter (number and time).

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The last Smok boxes had attracted a lot of attention, on the photos and on the paper, the promises were beautiful. But in fact, an Android application in English, an imposing product, suffering from some approximations, had somewhat weighed down the picture.
With the H-Priv, Smok corrects the shot beautifully. So there is still a bit of approximation in the realization, but overall the product is much better. Perfect ergonomics, thanks to the firing bar, nice look, increased overall quality, make this box an alternative to those who are a little weary of Joyetech and Eleaf products which flood the market.
She's not better or cheaper, but she has a personality of her own that makes her likable.
