Geekvape, a very young Chinese brand which visibly directs its products towards power vaping, delivers us its version of the RDTA (Rebuildable Dry Tank Atomizer). The Griffin follows a real fashion of the moment, tank atomizers which offer a vape close to that of a dripper. It arrives in this market where mid-range products reign supreme. They are numerous and well made, does this Griffin do as well?

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

The griffin, this legendary animal through eras and cultures serves as an emblem for this atomizer. Mixture of eagle and lion you will find an engraving representing it on the body of the atomization chamber. Made of stainless steel and Pyrex, the Griffin has a nice design, it is in the vein of a Zephirus for example. It's not a visual shock, but in this kind of atomizer, it does very well.

I find it harmonious in its shapes and proportions. Everything is quite well machined, the only small defect of my model is that the cotton retaining ring remains from time to time stuck in the bell, moreover at the beginning, I had not seen it and therefore my first edit is reflected by a succession of leaks.
The ultra-wide tray is Velocity style like most of these atomizers.

The bell is pierced with four holes for the arrival of liquid and the air flow ring is located on the last line as usual.
Note that the positive pin screw is gold plated, in short, a very honest product considering the asking price. I like this little griffin, but it's not just his looks that I like.

First thing, the wide plateau type Velocity, it welcomes no problem two beautiful clapton coils, and editing is very easy, a good first point.

The coil retaining ring is practical and essential for proper operation. This new system is also very practical for people like me who have trouble with the dosage of cotton. There it is not hard you have to be able to put the ring on, so if it does not work it is because there is too much and vice versa.

The generous air inlets arrive directly under the coils. The air flow is regulated thanks to the ring at the base of the tank, it is of an adapted resistance and it is equipped with a stop which prevents it from turning 360 / degrees. The holes in the bell which are used to greedily feed our coils, can be adjusted by a simple rotation of the tank, this allows to adapt the feed according to the power of the vape and the viscosity of the juice. Feeding is done from above. It is advisable to close the juice arrivals, and to unscrew the top cap. The two large slits following the rounding of the tank leave you a path to place the tip of your bottle or your pipette.

In short, a faultless, but it is clear that the product inspires the cloud, the large chamber provided for the Claptons, the generous air inlets, the 7mm chimney, our griffin is made for the big vape.

A large drip top in Delrin 13,5mm in diameter confirms my idea that this product is expressed in the towers. It is perfectly suited to the flow of bouzin. If you want to use a drip tip, an 510 adapter is provided, but frankly this 13,5mm is fine.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

The Griffin is well presented. A beautiful cardboard sleeve that bears a photo of the product, wraps a transparent hard plastic box. There, our atomizer, a second tank, a bag of gaskets and screws, a BTR key (hexagon), and the adapter for drip tip 510. The kit is complete, well almost, not the shadow of a manual , it is therefore with regret that I see the note fall so low, it is still nerd.

An atomizer pleasant to use, the assembly is simple, the filling easy, the Griffin does not lack qualities. The size of the chamber limits the amount of liquid but nothing too much trouble. The restitution of flavors is very good, we are really on a product that approaches the dripper, so the bet is successful. The only flaw is undoubtedly the exposure of his tank, it is clear that the fall could prove fatal.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Another RDTA atomizer which will not reach the rating of 4,6 giving right to the “Top” of the Vapelier. Despite this, I can not help but give it. I took great pleasure with this atomizer. A rich, pleasant vape, an easy-going and cheap atomizer, less than forty euros. Today, thanks to these reconstructables, everyone has access to a top vape. This Griffin is doing very, very well, it has few faults, I would say all the same that its versatility seems limited to me. The simple coil is possible but not very interesting, it would be like running a Porsche on 3 cylinders. This Griffin is made to run at 40W and more in double coil.
In short, an affordable super atomizer, for informed vaper.
