Comments on the packaging

D'lice continues its exploration of new taste territories by presenting us this Gran Torino which will delight movie buffs, fans of Clint Eastwood or lovers of American beauties. This juice comes from the new and promising “Rêver” range, the venerable manufacturer, so far perfectly established in entry-level liquids, having decided to shake up its habits a little and attack the second level of the market. , the one that brings together beginners / confirmed in search of new sensations and vaping geeks more focused on flavor vape than performance vape.

The Gran Torino has a simple but very effective and practical packaging. All that's missing is the PG / VG proportions on the label to fully meet consumer expectations. I often insist on this fact for two specific reasons:

  • First, the PG / VG ratio is interesting for the consumer because it allows him to quickly see if this rate suits him.
  • Second, because it is not a trade secret since the brand displays these proportions on its site.

For the rest, it's perfect and quite worthy of the brand's ambitions with this range.

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

It's very simple, everything is there. DLUO, batch number, contact of an expert…. the total. All that's missing is the cell phone number of the cutest assistant in the box to make all male vapers happy. Such a source of information does credit to French vapology and places it high on the podium for the search for safety and transparency. Moreover, in this fabulous summer of testing national juices, I was each time very proud to see what level France has been able to reach in a few short years. For safety and for the rest.

The good news is that you will not pay the carbon tax penalty with the Gran Torino, even if you push the power to the bottom!

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes
  • The packaging effort made is in accordance with the price category: Yes

Comments on the packaging

Once again, the packaging remains simple. Undoubtedly a little too much compared to the normal range of the mark, it still struggles to differentiate itself from it. However, we can not blame the graphic designer who achieved a particularly classy aesthetic of the label by using the stylized R of the Rêver range in relief and adorning it in the background with an American flag, all this on a black background. brilliant with the most beautiful effect. It is very beautiful, well made and gives a real character to the bottle.

There are only two things missing in my opinion:

  • The possibility of packaging in dark glass in 30ml.
  • A slight delirium on the shape of the bottle that would have better differentiate it from the normal range.

Sensory appreciations

  • Color and product name agree ?: Yes
  • Do the smell and the name of the product agree ?: Yes
  • Definition of odor: Citrus, Chocolate, Oriental (Spicy)
  • Definition of flavor: Sweet, Spicy (oriental), Citrus, Chocolate, Confectionery
  • The taste and the name of the product, do they agree ?: Yes
  • Did I like this juice ?: Yes
  • This liquid reminds me:

    Orangettes, yum!

Comments on the taste of the juice

To all the vaping snobs who refuse to taste a juice if it is not American or if it does not cost the price of a kilo of enriched uranium, I have to announce a very bad news: it will be necessary count on the French manufacturers of which D'Lice is a part in the years to come… I know, it can be offensive but remember: France is the country of taste and great cuisine. France is the land of luxury and fashion. The whole world considers us like that and without wanting to play too easy cocoricos, it would be time to understand that France is also a great country for Vapology.

First, in its search for security, which is at the forefront of producing countries. Then in his taste research, to avoid offering the nine thousand two hundred and thirtieth clone of Red Astaire or Snake Oil. And finally in his search for safety which avoids having three times a week certificates of “diacetyl-inside” posted by experts of… of… experts of the buzz, what, on Facebook.

Having said that, I loved the Gran Torino. I had the impression of eating this chocolate treat that we call “Sarment du Médoc” during the time (unfortunately very limited) that the unfortunate ten milliliters of the flask lasted. In the mouth, we have an ideal blend of a rather soft and slightly sweet cocoa and candied orange which pleasantly tingles the tongue while not interfering with the chocolate color of the whole. A real treat, well balanced, which sometimes comes, at the turn of a puff, to emphasize a rather diffuse cinnamon line (which is a feat given the difficulty of marrying this aroma to others without it inexorably taking the top).

We have a beautiful steam, superior to some other juices in the range, which alone validates the choice of the proportion PG / VG and a correct hit for the chosen rate.

A real confectioner's pleasure, of a high level of production quality, which will, I believe, upset many certainties among lovers of gourmet juices. In any case, I will sign for the 7.5 liter version like the V8 which fitted the car of the same name !!!

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 17.5 W
  • Type of vapor obtained at this power: Dense
  • Hit type obtained at this power: Medium
  • Atomizer used for the review: Taifun GT
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 0.6
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Kantal, Cotton

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

In view of its viscosity, the Gran Torino will not pose any problem to be vaped in any device. A lukewarm / hot temperature will give it the necessary assets to seduce you. In flavor vape, I found it very convincing between 15W and 18W on a 1.6Ω resistor. Higher up, it still holds the road and does not come undone but the candied orange tends to pass too much in the background.
