dotSquonk: just with the name, you have all already understood that we are going to talk about the latest creation from the Californians from Dotmod and that it is a BF box.

Indeed, to accompany his well-known drippers, the American moderator decided to release a mechanical BF box operating with a simple battery 20700 or 18650 (with adapter supplied).

The beautiful box in anodized aluminum has the particularities of loading a tank of 12 ml and be equipped with many gold-plated conductive elements.

Offered at a price of around 100 €, Dotmod is a rather cheap High End moderator, which is explained by the fact that the box is made in China and, frankly, given the contents of the box, we imagine without difficulty that this box will please a lot of people.

We immediately recognize the Dotmod style. First in the drawing: a rectangular box whose edges have been made more sensual by more curved, softer shapes.

All sides except the top and the base are slightly domed. This design perfectly reflects the spirit of the logo with soft and harmonious shapes that convey something of Asian Zen.

The box is anodized aluminum like all products of the brand. This coating, in addition to giving a beautiful uniform color, brings a pleasant silky touch.

On one of the edges, there is a very beautiful gold-plated switch button dressed in a pretty graphic composition that would make a beautiful mandala.

The two facades are removable and perfectly held in place by magnets. On one of them, we find the logo of the brand all dressed in gold. The other side is pierced with an ovoid-shaped window which allows the rectangular 12ml bottle to be squeezed.

Inside, everything is very clean, we can see the contacts for the 20700 or 18650 battery (a “funny” adapter is provided). We can also see the spring mounted pine isolated by peek pieces, the back of the switch and the bottle as a whole.

The build quality is impeccable as usual and the design is very successful. As for the rest, we are on a classic mechanical box without much innovation except the large rectangular bottle.

The functional characteristics are not legion in a mechanical box. To put it simply, it allows you to vape and that's about it.

Note the good conductivity of the beautiful, pin 510 spring and, of course, the bottom feeder system with its bottle of 12 ml.

In this item, we can also report the presence of an adapter for 18650 battery. This strange object consists of a transparent plastic tube, one end of which is closed by a gold-plated brass disc intended to make contact with the negative terminal of the accumulator.

We could regret the absence of a locking system but it is difficult to blame it for anything else because it remains very effective in its simplicity.

A black rectangular box stamped with the gold-colored seal of the Californian brand serves as a case. You will find the box inside which hides the adapter, then that's about it.

No instructions, just a small authenticity card, it's a bit light even for a mechanical mod. Indeed, we quickly understand how it works, but I find that a guide for the choice of your batteries, the ideal resistance value and the type of assembly recommended would be an undeniable advantage ...

Everything remains very presentable, it has the high-end spirit that permeates the sobriety and elegance of this presentation.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

The pretty American-Chinese is very pleasant on a daily basis. Even if it seems precious and fragile, the anodization looks very well made and is more resistant than one might imagine.

The box leads well, the shoot is frank and the switch rather pleasant. It is flexible but sufficiently contained not to have an untimely shoot.

The “pavé” bottle contains 12 ml, enough to see coming. It is perfectly wedged in the box. As easy to extract as to install, it is easy to fill thanks to its ultimate plug. It is pressed through the opening of the hood, the liquid rises well and I had no leaks to deplore.

In the process, the hoods are easily removed thanks to two small notches perfectly integrated.

Rather compact, it is easy to slip it into a jacket or coat pocket, especially since its weight is not a handicap.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

I'm still not a fan of the BF but I must admit that my meeting of the day could tip me.

First of all, it is physically attractive, elegant, understated and refined and its anodized coating is just perfect. Its curves, its satin touch, everything is there to succumb to the grip.

The quality of the beauty's simplistic insides is exemplary, the conductive parts are gold-plated, she shoots perfectly well, the pure pleasure of vaping on mechanics ...

The price seems fair to me. It's a beautiful object, a pleasure object and, at 100 euros per box, I find that we remain affordable for the category.

This time around, I wouldn't give in to this tidal wave that is the current fashion for bottom feeder, but if I had to do it, it would probably be with this dotSquonk which combines beauty and efficiency. A Top Mod!
