Reviewer comments on business characteristics

ENVII is a young American brand native to California which is currently developing a complete range of boxes and atomizers of different categories. Even if the development is on US soil, it is the Chinese who industrially produce the various references, with the aim of reducing the purchase price for the consumer.

Today, we turn to the Artisan RTA, a single-coil ato tank that presents itself as a typical flavored atomizer for which the manufacturer recommends the use of Clapton or Alien on your assembly to draw the best party.

Available from our sponsor at the price of 40 €, it is positioned in the mid-range European but rather in the high-end products made in China. A competitive price which we will verify the valuation by finishing the product and its rendering. 3 milliliters of capacity, a diameter of 22mm, we are rather on the classic but also on a small format always interesting to accommodate a discreet set-up.

You can choose between a natural finish (steel), a black finish and a rose gold finish. Now, let's get to the point-by-point discovery of this RTA.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

You can't really say that the Artisan RTA shines with its aesthetic originality. Very anonymous, here is an RTA which looks like one… RTA! The shape is very straight, devoid of any hint of decoration and the atomizer could just as well be a clearomizer. Only the engravings showing the name of the brand and the reference on the bottom-cap allow a differentiation.

In terms of finish, we are not really spoiled. Although correctly made, the object is “cheap” and the used steel, even if it seems to be of good quality, lacks material. So much the better for the measured weight of the ato, too bad for the notion of perceived quality which takes a little hit. The assemblies are far from perfect and some involuntary lines of demarcation appear at the level of the top-cap / pyrex connection or at the level of the airflow ring. Nothing that is likely to prevent proper operation, however, but anachronistic reminiscences of a time when the first atomizer came presents correctly.

The threads are in unison, medium. Although functional, they are quite imprecise and require a certain rigor during disassembly / reassembly to avoid a problem. The top-cap also serves as a hatch to access the filling. It unscrews a quarter of a turn and you can then lift it to fill the tank. The idea is good and makes it easy to refuel. It is a shame not to have completed the concept in reality by providing the top-cap with ridges allowing easier handling. Its smooth appearance becomes disabling when a little normal condensation “oils” the surface.

The surface of the pyrex is devoid of any protection. To avoid any accident, I invite you to surround it with a silicone ring.

The airflow ring is traditional but its operation is free from reproach. Stops make it possible to stabilize the open or closed positions and its handling is facilitated by satisfactory mobility, the right balance between firmness and flexibility. In other words, the ring does not turn on its own but offers little resistance when you turn it on your own.

To end with this exterior overview, I note that the non-adjustable 510 pin is made of brass and that the bottom of the atomizer has engravings announcing the name of the brand and its Californian origin.

Reviewer's comments on functional features

Inside, the Artisan RTA starts to get surprising. It has a removable postless tray which is placed, without screws, on the bottom of the bottom-cap. Advantage: it is therefore easy to since it can be held in hand to pass the tabs through the holes provided for this purpose and screw the BTR included in the plate laterally.

Often, rigs of this type are not very “natural” because it is necessary to calculate the length of the legs to be sure, on arrival, to have the optimal height for the resistance. Here, Envii gives us a very simple but terribly effective idea to avoid this pitfall. The holes have no bottom, so just slide the legs of the coil to the desired height and screw. Then, a good blow of pliers to eliminate the excess and the turn is played. It's smart and it greatly simplifies the assembly!

But the manufacturer did not stop there and also considered making things easier for us in terms of the cotton installation. To do this, an eighth part is provided to us in the packaging. We put the tray at the bottom of the bottom-cap, we screw this famous part from above to secure everything, the tray then becomes stable. We pass the right amount of cotton depending on the diameter of the coil chosen (up to 3.5mm) and we cut it at the edges of the piece. This ensures that we have the right amount of material.

All you have to do is unscrew this part which only serves as a guide, remove it and replace it with the lower part of the chimney (which unscrews in two parts). He just has to return the cotton coming out into the chimney, just taking care that the holes are closed by the capillary. Then slide the pyrex tank and raise the upper part of the chimney to secure everything. Explained in writing, it's probably a bit long ^^ but, in practice, it takes five minutes watch in hand! Ease of assembly is a major asset of this atomizer.

On the plate, the air inlet falls neatly under the resistance, fed by two large cyclops adjustable by the airflow ring. As for the filling, we have already talked about it above. It is extremely simple and supports all existing payment systems.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Type of attachment of the drip-tip: Owner only
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Short
  • Quality of the drip-tip present: Very good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The drip-tip provided is well made and finishes the atomizer correctly. It is adapted to the vape that the device provides. In 510 format, it can possibly be replaced by the drip-tip of your choice, provided however that it is equipped with an overhang, to ensure a good visual finish but also to prevent it from slipping into the bottom from the fireplace…. experience for example with the drip-tip of the Origen 19/22 ...

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

We have a black and yellow metal box, worthy of the higher category, which contains the following elements:

  • The atomizer itself.
  • The famous piece needed to tie the deck during the laying of the cotton.
  • A second pyrex tank just in case….
  • A bag containing a spare seal set, two replacement BTR screws and a suitable key.

No notice, alas ... But an offer related to the requested price.

Appreciations in use

  • In the event of leaks during the tests, descriptions of the situations in which they occurred:

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 4.6 / 5 4.6 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

It is through use that the Craftsman reveals its full potential. Easy to coil, easy to cotton, easy to fill, it is totally devoted to the comfort of the vapoteur. If we except the need to empty the tank to act on the assembly, we would undoubtedly be on the most user-friendly atomizer on the planet. Typically the style of object that we can recommend without a second thought to a beginner in the reconstructable.

As we have already mentioned, the Artisan is rather designed to accommodate clapton or alien assemblies. And, indeed, it works very well! Coiled according to your wishes between 0.30 and 0.80Ω, it is clearly positioned as an everyday flavor-chaser. The result in terms of vape is very full, with an almost tangible texture in the mouth and a restitution of the flavors which, without equaling the High End sizes whose prices are out of proportion with what concerns us here, is very fair and flattering, whatever the category of e-liquids used.

The consumption of liquid is, of course, to match, especially as the ato accepts without reluctance to ramp up thanks to the generosity of its airflow. At 0.8Ω, a rather high resistance therefore, we reach 50W without altering the taste or adding too much heat to the steam. With a resistance of 0.4Ω, we can greatly exceed this value while remembering that this is a typical flavor device and that, even if the volume of vapor turns out to be generous and very dense, we do not are not here on a far-west locomotive.

We therefore have a largely positive assessment in terms of use to which I add that in five days of testing, I did not notice any leak that disturbed my peace of mind! No need to close the airflow during filling, the Craftsman seems tight as he is foreign to the notion of leak! The noise in use is present, without incongruous whistling, it is average without interfering with the comfort of vape.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Overall, here is an atomizer that deserves to be known! Leaving aside the few finishing flaws that an upgraded version should correct, it remains a perfect companion for vaping, easy and greedy.

The price therefore seems justified by the few tips that make the vapoteur's life easier and a rendering equal to the situation even if some competitors also do better for a lower price. But the Craftsman takes his revenge in terms of ease of assembly which can help the most refractory to cross the course of the reconstructable. And that is already not so bad.

In short, an RTA to consider at the time of purchase and a brand, ENVII, which undoubtedly has a future fully mapped out in our common passion.
