Little by little, global vaping is reaching its cruising speed despite the warning shots from governments here and there on the planet. The vaping enters the cultural panorama and it is well thus. Everywhere, liquidiers compete in ingenuity to constantly offer us more realistic flavors, healthier bases and more volumic clouds. With, in fine, the result of a happy vapomonde and sated with so many delicacies made available to him.
Unfortunately, this idyllic portrait is obscured when it comes to talking about new flavors or risk-taking on recipes that go a little beyond the “standard” of e-liquids. However, sometimes a rare pearl appears and conquers palates and hearts with a new taste, one of those that cannot be found identically in the competition.
Ocean Side is a small workshop for vaping enthusiasts led by a chef well known in London, Harriett Duman. The watchword of the little gang: take risks by daring to offer new and strange e-liquids to conquer new taste horizons. The “A La Carte” range (in French in the text, please) therefore offers four dishes to vape that make up a gourmet menu.
Here, we dare the salty, we turn our necks to the prejudices “strawberry with cream” and we launch out with a range which should make noise if one believes some rare esthetes who had the chance to taste these juices. off the Vapexpo in Lille.
Small clarification: Ocean Side e-liquids are nicotine-free, contain 20ml and are sold for the modest sum of 76 € for this capacity. A delusional price therefore that the brand claims as the price to pay for the gastronomic exception in a world of vaping that has become very cautious about its recipes.
Presented in a black glass vial designed and produced by hand by Ateliers Lalique in Paris, the “B” is the first luxury liquid that we are testing from this range.

Not much to say here, the “B” being offered without nicotine, it is in fact exempt from many imposed figures devoted to nicotine juice. However, the reverse side of the bottle clearly shows us that transparency and safety have been among the concerns of the manufacturer. Brief but clear warnings, mentions of the rate of PG / VG (30/70) and address of the laboratory (Virgil Labs) reassure the consumer and fill a sumptuous label.

Comments on the packaging
You almost get what you pay for. If the glass bottle is itself a work of art in itself, what about the cardboard box that contains it made by Moleskine®? A matte embossed cardboard box, black as night, which features a shiny burgundy logo, simple but devilishly elegant.
No label on the front of the rectangular bottle, the writings are printed directly on the glass by a process known as “sapphire printing”. Note the splendid B painted in relief in blood / burgundy tones and the wax seal around the neck.
At the top, there is a black glass stopper, which by a clever mechanical pump system can fill the pipette and thus serve the delicate nectar in your atomizer.
The packaging is exceptional, let's not be afraid of words. We expected no less from the most expensive liquid in the world!

Comments on the taste of the juice
This is where the “B” takes all its letters of nobility since here is the promise: “Spoonful of frozen Beluga caviar on a bed of warm blinis with its lemon zest”.
From the first puff, we are transported. Of course, it is surprising, even disarming, to be in the presence of a salty e-liquid. It is almost ... incongruous. However, the result leaves me wondering as the quality of the recipe meets the strangeness of the promise.
Indeed, we can perfectly feel the iodized and salty character of the caviar (from there to affirming that it is Beluga, there is a step that I will not take…) from the aspiration. On the exhale, we find a delicate and creamy paste, the blinis without a doubt which contrasts sharply with the fishy aspect of the main element. There is also a very appropriate lemon note that comes to lighten the whole.
The recipe is incredible veracity and the fresh aspect is ideally rendered without masking the different aromas.
Strange but bewitching, the “B” is undoubtedly THE surprising liquid of the year and perhaps even since vaping has existed.

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting
In view of the price and the specific category of the liquid, I will recommend using your best flavor dripper. Know how to stay relevant by using a rather lukewarm / cold temperature and a draft that is not too open even if the aromatic power remains substantial.
No hit here, the vapor matches the ratio. To vape on a vodka during an aperitif, it's divine!

My mood ticket on this juice
After the first surprise reflex during the first puff, it is very easy to get carried away by the “B”. The pronounced marine aspect of the liquid is quickly no longer an obstacle and, as long as you like fish, you become addicted to this new sensation and daring taste.
Something to salute the feat of Ocean Side with a Top Juice while waiting to discover the other references of the range: “Leg of roe deer grand veneur on a bed of Sarladaise potatoes, Samosa with ginger and its pickles of lemon and Fish of April, don't take it easy! ”
