We continue to explore Ijoy's new ACME range through the “Vape” which is positioned at the top of the range of clearomizers and clearly displays its claims to do battle with the Subtank or Atlantis, nothing less. Its price also puts it at the height of its potential rivals and it is with the declared claim of surpassing them that the Vape enters the court of the “big” clearomizers.
The Vape comes with two resistors. One at 0.5Ω which is made to vape between 20 and 40W (sic) and one at 0.2Ω which is made to operate optimally between 5 and 20W. The manufacturer guarantees an equivalent rendering in volume of vapor at any power, whether the resistance in 0.5 or that in 0.2 in their respective scale is used. Unfortunately, I could not do the resistance test in 0.2Ω, the Vape having been sent to me with two resistors in 0.5Ω.
The capacity of 3.5ml is correct for a clearo of this size and the appearance is very engaging. Ijoy once again relies on its air intake system by the top cap to which we will come back later. But, because the bar is high and the competition is already well established in the hearts of cloud enthusiasts, we are going to step outside of wishful thinking to get to the heart of the matter ...

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
The build quality is excellent. We are in front of a remarkably constructed clearomizer, in a beautifully crafted steel which seems made to last over time. The shape is really successful and brings us closer to the world of reconstructables than to that of clearos. The airflow adjustment ring is a pleasure to maneuver because it is flexible enough to be handled even if you don't have Stallone's muscles and stable enough not to start spinning on its own. The only downside that I could bring to this idyllic sketch would be that the pyrex is not protected and, although it is very thick, therefore risks breaking following a fall. In addition, Ijoy has apparently omitted to think about this aspect of the problem since, the top cap not being unscrewable, I do not see how we could change the only pyrex. This is where the willingness to make a truly waterproof clearomizer comes up against the reality of everyday use.
The internal chimney is equipped with fins. I hardly know if it is for a single aesthetic concern or if there is a utility in the cooling of the vapor which could prove to be possible if one takes into account that, the chimney bathed in the liquid, it is therefore partly cooled and that the fins would be, subject to any reservation, an additional guarantee of good heat dissipation. (?)
Of course, if I'm wrong, I'm counting on you to say loud and clear that I never said that ...
There are also fins under the adjustment ring and they have a lot to do with the aesthetic success of the clearo. They also participate in the general cooling, Ijoy claiming that the Vape is made to accept powers between 5W and…. 200W (equipped with an optional temperature control base) !!!
The resistors are in themselves little marvels of technology because the coil is made of Kanthal A1 made in USA and rests on a ceramic cradle in contact with a first layer of organic cotton. Underneath the organic cotton is a polymer cotton made to accept temperatures above 1300 ° C and serves as a reservoir that feeds the organic cotton. Underneath still, a final layer consists of a filter, quite similar to that of cigarettes, charged as one would imagine to filter the impurities which could reside in the juice.
Well, the VAPE does not make coffee and does not tell the time but we can say that in terms of innovations, it poses as a credible candidate for the podium!

Reviewer's comments on functional features
The functionality which creates the immense novelty here is thus the air intake which is made by the top cap. The air is distributed in the resistance and goes up through the chimney with the steam. To my knowledge, the ACME range is the first to use this process for clearomizers. This concept is meant to prevent fluid leakage, even when using the product despite common sense. I note that the two “cyclops” shaped air inlets are giant (about twice as much as the 10mm mentioned above in the protocol) and allow us to say that the sky will be cloudy without having to look at the weather forecast. But the ability to easily adjust the airflow is a guarantee of being able to control the production of steam.
I pass on the new functionalities proposed by the resistances which, on the paper, seem to guarantee a perfect distribution of the liquid while preserving a reserve and filtering it of its impurities.
In short, everything looks ready to fill the machine with liquid and try a first test!

The tif 510 drip supplied is fitted with a screw thread to ensure, again, a perfect seal of the system. We can also position any 510 drip tip but we will thus deprive ourselves of the seal dear to the brand. Especially since the drip-tip provided is very well made, cut for power-vaping, with an opening at the neck of 8.4mm even if the diameter of the chimney is smaller.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
Impeccable packaging considering the price of 37 €. Kanger does better but we can not decently blame this hard cardboard box, quite nicely designed which contains a very dense foam for transporting the Vape in optimal conditions. We appreciate the presence of a manual, even in English, very clear and illustrated so as to be understood by the 4500 million people who are not lucky enough to have English as their mother tongue…. There is also a small card with the logo of the mark which gives the following tip: “to have a better rendering of flavor, do not hesitate to place a few drops of liquids directly in the resistance” and which requests your various feedback and various via email or phone number.

No leaks! No leaks! Not the slightest drop! It is even frustrating! So what will my paper towel be used for now (don't answer, I guess what you are thinking… 😛)?
Bluffing! I tested the Vape in the worst possible conditions. Like: “ah, he can handle 40W with this resistor and this base and well we'll see that!”. I lost at that game. I also lost by lugging it upside down to make it regurgitate a little juice. I wasted trying to chain-vape like a locomotive to see if I was going to take a dry-hit. I still lost trying to heat it up, it stays cold like a freezer. I tried 70/30, 50/50 and 100% VG juices, it goes through everything without batting an eyelid.
And above all, the rendering is exceptional. In the game of “who makes the most steam”, I think that it is either tied or a little below the target competitors because, due to the specificity of the air circuit, it is still necessary to suck a slightly stronger but the vapor produced has much more density and is very white. But its master asset does not lie there. Indeed, on the hand of flavor, a square of aces comes out from the start! Never have the Atlantis or the Subtank, in a “builder resistance” version, managed to release so much flavor. We have almost closed airflow flavor, which seems logical but we also have a great wide open airflow flavor, which leaves me with what? Coi!
In addition, the resistance collects the 40W promised with immense ease. What seriously to wonder when the manufacturer affirms that the VAPE could cash 200W with the optional base as this clearo seems made to surprise us to infinity.
The flavor is very saturated, very full in the mouth and I know a good number of reconstructables that could even go to get dressed. The taste is even equivalent to some “steam” type drippers, I can certify that. It's a total surprise and I am convinced that this clearo will have the effect of a bomb for those who like clouds while not wanting to ignore the taste.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The VAPE is a UFO. It can steam, as well as Subtank or Atlantis, but it definitely buries them at the level of flavors. A little Prévert-style recap:
- He does not run away. Never.
- He cash 40W without flinching.
- The resistance is equipped with a reserve of juice and a filter.
- He is handsome and strong.
- It is in the same price range as its competitors.
- It sends flavors as we never imagined possible with a clearomizer and with the resistance manufacturer.
- It does not heat.
- He drinks all liquids, whatever their viscosities and whatever power you ask for.
- It is airy and tight at the same time, which takes a little getting used to but pays off in the end.
- The volume of steam is important.
What more could you ask for from VAPE ???? Presented as an Atlantis-killer, I'm afraid he is indeed and I'm afraid his hunger for murders will not stop there! A serial-clearo-killer was born, it is called the VAPE.
