Uwell decided to name his last sub-ohm clearomizer like that, well I should rather say his last steam factory. Indeed, for this new opus, Uwell offers us a direct competitor to TFV12 from Smok. A 5ml tank, a 0.15Ω quad-coil resistance that can handle up to 120W. Friends of poetry, hello! The weather will quickly cloud over.
The promise ? Big clouds, but not only. This Chinese firm offers us a new way of adapting its vape, with a system for modulating the air flow in the heart of the resistance.
So, let's see if this clearomiser shows up to the series that inspired his name.

Our Valyrian adopts a rather modern design, we are not really in a heroic fantasy spirit. I find it more of a science-fiction inspiration, like Star Wars. This tapered drip-tip, its colored joints and its airflow ring, I don't know why this reminds me of the world of troopers, probably because of all the communication around the next opus.
25mm in diameter, 50mm high, our clearomizer has very modern dimensions. Indeed, to make clouds, you still need a good tank. 5 ml is not the record, but it remains honorable and, above all, it allows our atomizer not to rock in a style that is too massive.
We notice a hinge at the top-cap and, at its opposite, a push button, I think we just discovered the filling system from above.
Through the tank, we can see an impressive resistance, it forms the backbone of the ato with the chimney.
The base is equipped with an airflow ring pierced with three slots, separated from each other by groups of four small slots.
The overall quality of manufacture is satisfactory compared to the price, it is visibly facing a serious competitor for the series of TF from Smok.

To begin with, we will talk about the top filling system. The top-cap is equipped with a rectangular push button, you just need to activate it to release the hinged cover. We then discover two filling orifices of good size diametrically opposed.
The tank can contain 5ml, it is in pyrex. It is a respectable size which still seems to be a minimum given the type of vape offered.
The resistance is a quad-coil designed to turn on a power scale that goes from 95 to 120W, consisting of four kanthal coils mounted in a row and surrounded by a cotton blanket. The chimney formed by the coils is just huge, if that isn't aerial, I don't know what it is!
In fact, this space is intended to be modulated by the use of pins of different shapes. This system is supposed to influence the air flow by modifying its circulation. This should, if it works, modify the flavor diffusion and texture of the vapor.
This is the first time that I see this, it seems clever, we will see in use.
Finally, the Valyrian is of course equipped with an airflow ring to vary the amount of air arriving on the coil. Three large slits whose opening will be made to fluctuate by rotating the ring.
Our Valyrian is obviously well studied, he lacks almost nothing. I understood that it would be possible to find a “bulb” type tank to increase its capacity but, on the other hand, I only saw a kind of resistors and no rebuildable base and that is a much less compared to its direct target which is the TFV 12.

It is not one but two delrin drip-tips that accompany our atomizer. Two drip-tips yes, but identical… only the color of the metal ring at the base changes. Your choice between one or the other will then only be an aesthetic question. Otherwise, it seems well suited to the power needed for the resistance, even if it is only a “small” 510 at the port, the internal diameter is substantial.
Small bonus, it comes with a silicone head cover if you want to protect your mouthpiece between two uses.

The Valyrian is presented in a transparent plastic box with a circular section. It is under a bell and rests on a sort of pedestal, around which is wound a strip of paper where the name of the atomizer is inscribed in a neo-Gothic style. In the background, a dragon, as we find on the knightly coat of arms.
The pack contains, in addition to clearo, a spare tank, 2 resistors, spare seals, the famous pins and the second drip-tip. The record is complete and translated, a good thing.
A nice and complete packaging, everything is impeccable in view of the tariff position.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
The Valyrian is an atomizer very well suited to everyday life and nomadic use. You just need to have a box capable of reaching at least 120 / 130W.
The filling is done well, the fact that the cover is hinged makes this act very simple. Indeed, we do not end up with a part of the top-cap in the hand during the filling, no risk of making it fall or lose it.
On the other hand, I think that it is perhaps a point of fragility of the atomizer. I tend, even if it seems solid, to think that this hinge should be treated with a certain delicacy.
The resistors are efficient and behave perfectly well over the entire recommended power scale. We can distinguish a line of minimum level of liquid, it is placed approximately in the middle of the height of the body of the resistance. This implies that your tank is never completely empty. So if you want to change fluid, you will lose about 0.5ml of the previous fluid.
Their assembly is very simple, you just have to remember to put in place the pin of your choice. There are three, the choice is just a matter of feeling, so you have to try all three with your favorite juice in order to be able to distinguish the different sensations of vape they provide. Once done, you'll have no trouble pairing the right spit with the right juice and the right potency.
This system is interesting, even if its implementation requires each time to disassemble the resistance to change pin.
The airflow ring will allow you to further refine your airflow adjustment. It is practical and precise even if, in concrete terms, it could not be more traditional in its operation and in its design.
The vape that we get is of course very vaporous. The ability of the Valyrian to restore flavors puts it in a very good position compared to the competition, it is arguably one of the best in this area and the spindle system may not be for nothing.
A clearomizer that is pleasant and practical to use.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
I am testing this Valyrian right after testing the TFV12 Prince. If, strictly speaking, I prefer the Prince, I won't say the same in terms of vaping. Indeed, the Valyrian gives a little more finesse to the direct ultra-aerial vape offered by this type of atomizer.
I admit I was skeptical of the pin system when I discovered it but I have to admit that I was wrong. Indeed, this novelty really manages to significantly influence the sensations, both on the density of the vapor and on the taste sensation. With this technical solution, Uwell manages to offer you a way to adapt your atomizer to your juice and try to get the best out of it.
As for the rest, I will say that there is a draw, the TFV12 just does better on the maximum admissible power with its complex resistances. There is a practical top filling system, although I have concerns about the potential fragility of a hinge over time.
Naturally, the Valyrian is a Top atomizer, it does not impose itself as absolute master of the category, but it easily places itself in the leading pack.
