Reviewer comments on business characteristics

Joyetech and the clearomizers, it's already an old story that goes on and it's not about to end. Only recently, the Tron, Cubis, Cubis Pro, Ultimo and other Ornate have flourished like trees in spring, each adding to the legend of the brand an additional stone.

Personally, I had a very favorable impression with the Ultimo, which combined flavors and steam in a successful marriage. Today, the new band is called Unimax and exists in 22mm or 25mm version. It is this last proposition that we are going to test to see what the object has in the belly.

Sold at less than 30 €, the Unimax 25 is presented as an atomizer rather focused on the big vape and uses to do this the new BFL and BFXL resistors of the manufacturer, resistors benefiting from an increased air circulation in order to be able to generate consistent vapor while retaining relevant flavors. The promise is interesting, it remains to be seen whether it will be honored.

Otherwise, be aware that you can continue to use the Cubis LF resistors with an optional adapter. Your Unimax will therefore find the sensations of a clearomiser known and validated by the community for its practical and all-terrain side.

Available in black and silver and taking its airflow from the top, the Unimax 25 is therefore, on paper, exempt from potential leaks. This is, among other things, what we are going to check.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

Here is a big baby! 25mm in diameter, it does not go unnoticed and if you intended to use it with your Pico, it is missed!

Aesthetically simple, the Unimax presents itself as an almost perfect cylindrical ato, resembling a larger Nautilus X, a simple but proven shape that emphasizes the practical aspects to the detriment of any design temptation. Not ugly, however, the straight lines accentuate the massiveness of the object.

Built in stainless steel and pyrex, the finishes are correct and the assembly consistent. Joyetech does not usurp its reputation as a good maker and we do not have the impression of being cheated on the quality. Two thick black gaskets, one used to hold the pyrex from the bottom and the other, positioned under the airflow ring and not used for much, pair up for an aesthetic attempt to break the lines of the airflow. 'stainless steel.

The pyrex tank is not protected at all and, even if the material thickness is substantial, avoid dropping it, these little animals are still fragile ...

A big flaw, however, is raging. The large seal ensuring the maintenance of the tank on the base arrives almost stuck to the pyrex. It is therefore the cross and the banner to dismantle this part of the ato, without getting excited so as not to risk breakage. After a few minutes of pitched battle, we get there but it is to realize that the lint of joints remain desperately stuck on the pyrex. The reassembly is simpler but I advise you all the same to pass a little vegetable glycerin on it in order to make it more flexible to the handling. A new defect from the manufacturer who had previously given us an exemplary finish in this area in particular.

The filling takes place from the top of the ato by unscrewing the drip-tip / airflow block. Fairly well thought out, it poses no particular problem and makes the liquid supply particularly easy.

Reviewer's comments on functional features

The functionalities being limited by principle on a clearomiser, we will use the diagram provided by Joyetech to go around.

The airflow is quite important and uses, as on a Cubis, the principle of an air intake from the top of the ato. The air is then mechanically called by your suction by a wall of the chimney and arrives at the level of the coil to then leave, charged with the steam supplied, towards your mouth. The circuit is easy and gives a consequent airflow. The adjustment takes place by means of a ring discovering all or part of two slots 2mm high by 16 wide, enough to see coming.

The resistors, supplied, are screwed on the chimney and on the base, thus ensuring a good hermeticity which presages, in addition to the position of the airholes, of a total absence of leaks, which will indeed be the case.

Two resistors of the new BFL series are supplied in the pack. Both ensure a direct vape. The first (BFL) is in kanthal, for a resistance of 0.5Ω and is given for an optimal operation between 20 and 40W. The second (BFXL) provides equivalent strength and material but benefits from an additional air supply which allows it to climb between 30 and 50W. In addition, I remind you, you can also use the resistors of the BF range with the adapter.

The tank contains 5ml of liquid, which is substantial but must be compared with the consumption which also remains substantial. But hey, you don't get vapor without liquid ...

The removable parts is adorned with ribs making it easier to grip and grip so as not to have too much trouble turning them.

Drip-Tip Features

  • Type of drip-tip attachment: Owner but passage to 510 through a supplied adapter
  • Presence of a Drip-Tip? Yes, the vaper can immediately use the product
  • Length and type of drip-tip present: Short
  • Quality of the present drip-tip: Good

Reviewer's comments on the Drip-Tip

The drip-tip is not really one. This is a plastic sleeve that slides and turns on a metal base. The diameter is quite substantial even if it is above all the diameter of the chimney that will count.

Once the sleeve is removed, the metal part will accommodate the 510 drip-tip that suits you if that is your choice. However, I personally did not find any fault with the original proposal. The sleeve is medium / short and does its job without burning your lips. It is completely sized for the intended use of the clearomiser.

Evaluation of the packaging

  • Presence of a box accompanying the product: Yes
  • Would you say that the packaging is up to the price of the product? Can do better
  • Presence of a user manual? Yes
  • Is the manual understandable for a non-English speaker? Yes
  • Does the manual explain ALL features? Yes

Vapelier's note on packaging: 4.5 / 5 4.5 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

Here we have a typical conditioning from Joyetech, complete and rewarding.

The hard cardboard box contains the Unimax 25, a multilingual user manual including French, two different coils including one mounted directly on the ato and spare gaskets.

A silicone ring with the brand's coat of arms is provided to provide a semblance of protection to the pyrex as well as an additional pyrex tank.

Everything would therefore be perfect if Joyetech had not had the absurd idea of putting the spare tank in bulk in the bag of spares instead of pouring it into the reassuring foam that welcomes the ato… Of course, this one is therefore arrived broken into a thousand pieces and totally unusable ... A rookie mistake at the biggest manufacturer in the world, it can also happen, the proof ...

Appreciations in use

Vapelier's note on ease of use: 4.6 / 5 4.6 5 out of stars

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product

In use, I remain circumspect.

In fact, I first used the BFL coil, the “flavor” type that was mounted on the clearo. The result was very close to mediocrity. Weak flavors, well below the category average and medium vapor requiring to exceed the indicated threshold of 40W to have texture in the mouth. At the risk, of course, of causing some dry-hits that convinced me to stay within the recommended limits, even if it means having the impression of vaping air.

A vape after all mediocre and frustrating that, for the sake of objectivity, I attribute to a failure of the resistance. Indeed, this one let me go after the second tank emptied. I therefore presume that the resistance itself is fragile, hoping that it only concerns my copy. However, check whether you are purchasing the Unimax and share your comments with us.

I then used the BFXL resistance, type vapor. There, it was much better, nothing to see. The flavors were much more accurate and present and the vapor abundant. Finally ! I was able to appreciate the capacities of the atomizer in better conditions. However, in any case, the general rendering remains average for the category and other brands, starting with Joyetech with the Ultimo for example, are doing much better. The rendering is far from bad, let's be clear, but it remains “quiet” and offers neither a colossal vapor nor precious and assertive flavors.

For the rest, nothing to report, the Unimax 25 behaves well, fills easily, does not heat up and its consumption, high in absolute terms, remains average.

Recommendations for use

  • What type of mod is it advisable to use this product with? Electronic
  • With which mod model is it advisable to use this product? Any box accepting 25mm diameters and having 50W of power
  • With which type of EJuice is it advisable to use this product? All liquids without problem
  • Description of the test configuration used: Asmodus Minikin V2, liquid in 50 / 50, liquid in 20 / 80
  • Description of the ideal configuration with this product: The one that suits you but take into account the large diameter of the ato (25mm)

was the product liked by the reviewer: Bof, it's not the craze

Overall average of the Vapelier for this product: 3.9 / 5 3.9 5 out of stars

The mood ticket of the reviewer

It is therefore a contrasting assessment that is required here.

If the Unimax 25 remains a completely usable material, the “screwing up” of the BFL resistance and the fact that the emergency pyrex tank arrived broken leave one wondering. Indeed, what can we expect from the largest manufacturer of the vape planet if not excellence?

No doubt that market pressure encourages manufacturers to offer more and more new products, to the detriment of the length of the study and development? Of course, but ultimately it is not up to the consumer to pay the price.

And then the question arises of the usefulness of a Unimax just behind the release of a rather successful Ultimo and Ornate. There should be something for everyone, okay, but to confuse speed and haste, we risk offering material that is undoubtedly valid but perhaps additional instead of being complementary.

An average note of 3.9 / 5, synthesizing a correct rendering in BFXL and some errors, seems to me now, adapted.
