Comments on the packaging

We continue our exploration of the Big Mouth brand through the Tropical Rush, an e-liquid of a “rainy” green, tinted, if I may say so, in the mass.

As usual, the manufacturer offers us a classic packaging for the price range but nevertheless effective. I have always preferred glass to plastic even if I admit that the pipette is not the ultimate weapon for filling.

In terms of information, the Tropical Rush pulls out all the stops and gives us details of its composition as I had never seen it before. We therefore learn that nicotine is L-Nicotine, namely of natural origin. That propylene glycol is of plant origin. That the aromas are natural too.

We also note the presence of E102 and E133 to color the juice, of E955 to sweeten it and of WS23 to refresh it. Without wishing to prejudge the taste, I find it a bit of a shame, in such a “natural” context to have integrated very chemical elements, them, just in order to give a seductive color to the liquid, a liquid that we could have preferred so transparent as the detail of the composition.

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

The brand is very aware of the legislation in use in Europe and demonstrates it once again in a beautiful way. Everything is compliant, a batch number and a DLUO allow traceability and a precise indication for tasting. Too bad the name of the laboratory is not present but it is a lesser evil because there is a mention of an after-sales service in the event of a problem.

So I come back to the dyes. Tartrazine (E102) is a yellow dye and Brilliant Blue FCF (E133) a blue dye, therefore. It is a priori not surprising to obtain this “radioactive” green bordering on fluorescent. On the other hand, if the two dyes are completely legal, I point out all the same that one and the other can have allergenic properties, that they are not considered as completely harmless, already by ingestion. So, when we know the weakness of the defenses of the respiratory tract in comparison with those of the digestive system, we can only show a legitimate concern.

This brings me to my rant.

Syrup makers, who have been making us eat dye for decades, have been backing down in recent years. Everywhere, in the food sector, we are witnessing, if not abandonment, at least a decrease in the quantity of dyes incorporated in our food. Consumer associations have come together to influence manufacturers so that they can reduce this unnecessary contribution to their production as quickly as possible. Given all this, how can we explain that a manufacturer of e-liquids, and not a bad one, can he tolerate adding suspicious dyes to his preparations?

It seems to me to be a purely commercial calculation and which, moreover, is not based on a reality on the ground. Indeed, the vaping community knows very well that the future of vaping will depend on the safety of liquids and each vaper pays great attention to what they vape. We cannot therefore compare this “market” to the general public food market which has never questioned whether there were any colorings in the merguez or the shrimp (there are some in both. case, I reassure you)!

When the E955, it is sucralose, a sweetener known in the vape under the name of sweetener which is not free of defects either but which seems difficult to replace for a sweet result. Molecules deemed to be more “safe”, such as sorbitol or xylitol, do not only have advantages due to their lower sweetening power and the freshness that accompanies them.

WS23 is the cooling agent chosen by Big Mouth for its fruity liquids.

In short, Big Mouth offers good products, tasty and sexy. Why shoot yourself in the foot for a color? If the color is itchy, go for a red or green glass bottle!

Comments on the packaging

The packaging, meanwhile, is always so nice. Not taking itself seriously while being exhaustive in the information, I find it pleasant and well done. I like the “Stonian” language, the brand's mascot, and the fact that the colors of the label change according to the references to best illustrate them and above all to differentiate them. Classic but well done. Here, we are entitled to yellow, green and blue.

Comments on the taste of the juice

Formidable! The fruity cocktail takes the mouth well, in a sensual and full way. We feel a water fruit, presented as a green melon, but that I personally translate as watermelon, accommodated with red fruits, discreet but present where blackcurrant seems to predominate as well as a juicy peach in the background .

All the finesse of the recipe lies in the fact that there is no acid roughness in the Tropical Rush, the fruits intertwine with happiness and offer a compact and well-defined flavor. Sweet and sweet, the mixture hits the mark, despite the cloud of freshness, which arrives after the fact but which is here, unlike the Pacific Breeze, well dosed and which ends up being forgotten over the course of the work.

It's successful, creamy and delicious and it hits the mark. The result is rather sweet, I say it for those who could be embarrassed but, personally, I did not feel it as a handicap. We are more on a well-sweetened fruit salad than on a realistic and raw fruity basket.

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

Adapts very well to a mid-temperature that draws on the cool. To taste preferably in what you want, the aromatic power being sufficiently pronounced to be as satisfactory in a precise reconstructable as in an aerial clearomiser. No need to climb to the breaker of your mod, we are still on a fruity, let's stay delicate.

My mood ticket on this juice

A real good fruity juice, more in a sweet salad, which is adorned with a cloud of freshness. This is the secret of Tropical Rush, which mixes water fruit, red fruit and white fruit for an interesting taste result, suitable to satisfy lovers of this type of juice. The aromas are precise and natural but the tight combination of the recipe reveals a new and greedy taste, very addicting.

I have only one downside to note concerning the presence of dyes which are in my opinion unnecessary and sources, if not of health problems, at least of controversies which the community could today avoid. But don't let that prevent you from initiating yourself to this juice, much smarter than it looks and devilishly tasty!
