Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality

The Surric immediately stands out. Rather massive, the all-aluminum case is dressed with a large X on each of its faces. This big X is neither engraved nor painted it is a part which is screwed into the case. However, it is not in relief, since it nests in a cavity dug to the mm, which just makes it flush. The 4 screws that hold it in place form four small domes at the four corners.

This aluminum case is machined by hand, the 510 connector is made of steel, the pin itself, is brass. It is spring loaded which ensures a flush connection.

The coating of the box is very well made, I am not saying that it is indestructible, but it does not mark easily, where the cheap Chinese, show signs of wear on the edges after a few days, the Surric does not suffer from any visible defect after a week of nomadic use.
Do not look for a screen there is none, we just have an LED whose color partially indicates the power level.
You will find on one of the sides, a little “too much” engraving of the name of the box.

On the other, another engraving, USA, again it's not top class, “I'm proud to have a nice box

American, but I did not marry the country so far ”. The fire button is almost in the middle of this same side, in metal, it is perfectly adjusted and it responds well, I find it a bit firm, but this reduces the risk of accidental fire. Just above, a +/- adjustment bar of the same holding.

The cover which closes the battery compartment is super thick, it is perfectly held by four magnets, it does not suffer from any play.
Inside nothing to report, it's super clean, nice welds, no glue, it's simple, but perfect. The chipset is not encapsulated, but when it's mounted like this I don't find it disturbing.

A perfect box of its kind. Should we like this style a little cut in the billhook, a little heavy, I have the impression of having the gadget of a hero for young children style Bioman. The large proportions, especially in terms of thickness (29 mm) do not help the feeling of heaviness expressed by the design.
I want to point out of course, that these aesthetic considerations are all subjective, because in the end, remember mainly that the quality promised by the price is there.

This is where we will have to talk about the concept.
It is an electro box, with variable power without TC, without screen, your only point of reference is an LED, whose color varies from green to red through yellow and orange. The scale is therefore not very precise, the purpose of this box being to return to the sensations, without going through the numbers. It can vary from 7,5W to 200W, and has pole reversal protection.
It is therefore a free vapor box, a box made for informed audiences, no USB socket, yes! when you love freedom, you don't take the risk of finding yourself hanging from a cable.
It's super minimalist, it's like going from a sports car equipped with all driving aids, to an older sports car, which is meant to be less accessible for a young driver. A concept that defends itself and that will find adpetes.

There it is a bit not America at all. A simple “velvet” pouch, not even a box. Let's not talk about instructions, it's not worth it. The message is clear, minimalism is in everything related to this concept, the only thing that matters is the box. But still, I find that it is a bit exaggerated for the asking price, the box is very good, but I would have appreciated the tralala of a pretty box and possibly a manual, so that I can explains the concept and characteristics of the product, especially since it is compulsory in Europe for this type of product.

In use, apart from its size, the Surric does not suffer from any defect, it is very easy to use. The two 18650s are easily removable and the autonomy is correct although necessarily linked to your vape power.
The vape is very nice, full, the chipset does an interesting job, only a small hiss when we shoot (a bit unpleasant in the long run), tarnishes the table.
There you have it, this is a box that wants to put the sensation back to the heart of the vape, a laudable desire, and that, I believe, gives it that touch of originality that we like to find in a high end product.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

My road movie is drawing to a close. I must say that this box, I did not appreciate it immediately. His Bioman, Transformers look pushed me back a bit. But on closer inspection I was forced to recognize the undeniable quality of the materials and workmanship. Afterwards, the concept seemed a bit bobo around the edges, simplicity for greater sensations, based only on your feelings and not on numbers. It's a bit confusing when you're sailing on the speedometer and suddenly you have to do it on sight.
But it is true that it gives a little of the charm of a simple vape like on a meca, except that there, we can vary the power according to its assembly and its sensations. It works well, I am not for all that seduced, I like to hang on to a ciphered benchmark and if the spirit is a little meca, the vape is indeed electronic.
The vaporous ride at a price: 169 €, it's expensive but if the idea of Surric Vapes is to bring your impressions back to the center of your vape, then indulge yourself, this box is undoubtedly a very good choice.
