Here is the return of the king! Like in Lord of the Rings! After a first Royal Hunter and its mini version which had, in their time, hit the headlines, here is the Royal Hunter X which is not, as its name suggests, the porn-parody version of a movie. Heroic Fantasy but a new dripper from the bubbling brain of the Los Angeles manufacturer.
We therefore have an exclusively double-coil RDA, which presents well and whose price, without being prohibitive, begins to familiarize with the equipment of the higher category. Beautiful baby 24mm in diameter, benefiting from an attractive look, the X seems to have arrived through the corridors of time directly from the forges of the Middle Ages. It exists in black and steel finishes and “sleeves” (tubes) of different colors and optional will quickly arrive on the market to customize your dripper.
Wanted as a versatile atomizer by its designers, it could well continue the saga very beautifully, as we will see immediately.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
It's massive! Small in height and wide like a dwarf of Moria, the X has its effect and appears stocky and solid. Displaying geometric scarifications, its aesthetic does not go unnoticed and makes it sympathetic at first glance.
The RHX consists of three major parts.
The slightly bevelled top-cap also has deep engravings that will improve the grip to remove it. It supports a proprietary, massive and short drip-tip which covers the whole thing in a very nice way. It is attached to an internal tube used to more or less obscure the airflow.
The central part is formed by the steel wall which surrounds the chamber. Deeply engraved with a trapezoidal geometric pattern, it constitutes the body of the dripper, even sporting an RHX engraving encapsulated in a coat of arms to underline the royal aspect of the newcomer. On two opposite sides, we see the airholes, materialized by three oblique slits which augur a consequent airflow.
On the ground floor there is the base. It hides a comfortable work space and a selection of posts quite amazing that should allow exotic montages. Below, there is a complete and complex engraving, struck like a coin, which presents the mark, the name of the reference and a serial number. A neat work.
The 510 connection has a positive pin that can be unscrewed but is not adjustable, the screw used to remove the corresponding post. This screw is very raised and will therefore agree perfectly with a hybrid mechanical mod.
The overall finish is excellent. Whether by the choice and the thickness of the materials or by the multiple engravings present, it consecrates a beautiful and solid object, completely in relation to the claimed price. The seals hold well but are not “capricious” and accept disassembly without causing hernias.
A very positive first contact. Beautiful and carved in the rock, the RHX is a desirable object!

Like the Royal Hunter first of the name, the RHX is not equipped with a very deep tank, the autonomy will not therefore be its strong point.
On the other hand, its large platform will allow you to work at ease, to mount coils of good size and especially to opt for one of the two systems offered. Indeed, we have here two posts, the negative and the positive placed on a beautiful insulating layer, which can both accommodate the fixing brackets of your coils, or by a system of four holes (2mm in diameter) altogether traditional, or by means of two plates (clamps) overhanging the posts which will tighten the threads.
As I have the impression of losing you and that I do not have a defibrillator on hand, I put you a photo, always more telling 😉
So we see all the possibilities offered. However, these opportunities are not cumulative but offer a choice that will be driven by your own arrangements and needs. A beautiful find that multiplies the possibilities.
The screws used to tighten the assembly are slotted will allow the use of a flat screwdriver. They are strong and suitable for forced use.
The airholes are positioned opposite the resistances and are therefore adjustable by turning the top-cap, as we have already seen. It should be noted that, for an optimal compromise between restitution of flavors and vapor, it will be necessary to consider positioning the coils a little higher than usual so that the air intake benefits well, laterally and from below, to your resistance.

Here we have an excellent delrin drip-tip.
Very thick, it does not heat up and its wide bore shape is really modeled on the objective of the dripper to send severe. Presenting an internal diameter of 11mm, it is of a “tortoiseshell” color, which will remind guitarists of their pick, which I find very flattering in general aesthetics.
Please note that there is no adapter supplied to install a standard 510 drip tip.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
We have a plastic box which contains the RHX, a “small” bag of spares with a set of gaskets, two spare screws and a clamp.
No instructions, we suspect, but given that the RHX will especially interest experienced vapers, it is less worrying even if it remains, in my opinion, a fault.
The packaging is fair but works a little on the economy. A complete spare set (4 screws and two clamps) would have been welcome and would not have cost much more.
Appreciations in use

- Disassembly and cleaning facilities: Easy, even standing in the street, with a simple tissue paper

Impeccable!
We have here a very versatile dripper which combines a correct restitution of flavors with a very impressive release of vapor. The airflow is easy to manage and perfectly efficient once the resistors are judiciously positioned.
We all know that there are flavor-type drippers and vapor-style drippers. Here, the Council of Vapor is trying the splits and the result is honest. We have interesting flavors, not surgical but rather round, perfectly suited to liquids with a high VG content. The taste is compact and will tend to become more precise if you reduce the airflow a little.
The volume of vapor, very substantial, is directly linked to an airflow after all well seen. Even lowering it, the temperature of the vapor does not increase dramatically, a clear sign of a well-managed flow.
In 0.3Ω very wise, we walk between 80 and 100W with ease. Going down further, the room becomes a furnace and delivers a strombolian vapor! And even if the dripper heats up quite hard, the drip-tip always remains within limits quite acceptable, even at very high power.
A damn good RDA, which allows access to flavors while sending a big vapor.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The Royal Hunter X is an excellent dripper whose price is easily explained by its finish, the thickness of the materials and a complete and versatile rendering.
Here, depending on the assemblies, settings of aiflow and your desires, you can easily walk between flavors and big clouds, according to your desires. Power doesn't scare him, neither do exotic mounts. Its ease of assembly allows you to delirium and the choice of fixing offered will seduce more than one.
In short, a very good surprise, a formidable heir to the royal family takes the throne!
