Comments on the packaging

Flavor Art, a pioneering brand of vaping and DIY in Europe, presents the Royal which promises to be the mint tobacco of the classic range.

Very focused on safety, the brand claims production without protein, GMO, diacetyl, preservative, sweetener, coloring, gluten and no more alcohol. We are therefore guaranteed to avoid most of the problems associated with the voluntary or involuntary introduction of questionable molecules.

The liquid is composed of a ratio of 50% PG, 40% VG, the rest being divided between aromatics, Milli-Q water and nicotine. This is offered to us in various rates: 0, 4.5, 9 and 18mg / ml.

The bottle is made of PET, which is probably insufficiently flexible to be really comfortable in complex filling. However, if you look carefully, you realize that there is an area at the top of the bottle which is much softer. The stopper / dropper tandem is quite original since the stopper does not separate from the bottle. The tip is thin enough for any type of filling, even if the presence of the stopper may interfere in some cases. It looks like this conditioning will change in the near future.

With a price of 5.50 €, we are of course on the entry level. The price corresponds to the core target of the manufacturer: first-time vapers and experienced people who do not want to change their vaping habits.

Vapelier's note regarding the respect of various conformities (except religious): 4.63 / 5 4.6 5 out of stars

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

No glaring problem concerning the legal aspects, except the absence of certain pictograms balanced by written warnings.

Note the presence of distilled water, generally used to thin the base and to accentuate the development of steam.

Child safety is different from that usually used. It consists of pressing on both sides of the cap to allow it to be unlocked. We can be wary of the efficiency but it works very well in use.

The name of the laboratory and a telephone number complete the range to ensure unblemished visibility and transparency. Some information is at the limit of visibility but it is the game of 10ml bottles overloaded with information.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes
  • The packaging effort made is in accordance with the price category: Yes

Comments on the packaging

The packaging is traditional. If we except the stopper / dropper unit which will probably disappear in the next batches, nothing exceptional distinguishes this bottle from the whole production in this level of the range.

The manufacturer's logo covers the label, overlying an illustration relating to the product name, which name appears roughly within the image. Nothing very artistic here but just a simple bottle that is neither exceptional nor unworthy and announces the color of an entry-level liquid.

About color, that of the cap varies depending on the level of nicotine. Green for 0, light blue for 4.5, dark blue for 9, and red for 18.

  • This liquid reminds me of: A light menthol cigarette.

Comments on the taste of the juice

The Royal is based on a light blond tobacco whose origin is difficult to pinpoint, totally devoid of bitterness or aggressiveness. We can observe, at the end of the palate, a slight woody effect, almost imperceptible, which only appears when the vapor is expelled through the nostrils.

It is accompanied by a twist of menthol which adds a little freshness to the assembly but whose taste and effect remain modest. So far, we have an emulation of a fairly realistic menthol cigarette in the sense that the tobacco / menthol balance is well thought out.

However, like the rest of the line so far, the sweetness and sweetness are still there. And, in the Royal, probably too much. Indeed, if the aromas are rather balanced, the sugar load becomes a hindrance to the tasting. The whole thing is singularly lacking in strength and the general feeling is too watered down to really convince.

As I suggested in a previous review, it seems to me that this characteristic, common to the entire range, is due to the quality of the vegetable glycerin used, which must be specifically sweetened. This succeeds very well at some references and less at others. Indeed, the manufacturer communicates on the absence of sugar and sweetener, which is good and complies with our AFNOR standards. So, I deduced that, if the general taste tended towards a certain preeminence of sugar, it could only come from VG.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 36 W
  • Type of vapor obtained at this power: Dense
  • Hit type obtained at this power: Medium
  • Atomizer used for the review: Narda, Origen V2Mk2
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 0.7
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Stainless steel, Cotton

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

Typically, I recommend a tight enough clearo to get the most out of the Royal. A lukewarm temperature will be required. The liquid accepts, it is also a constant of the range, to be pushed in power without losing its balance but it is clearly not reserved for reconstructable atomizers which put (too) much emphasis on its sweet temperament. .

Recommended Moments

  • Recommended times of the day: All afternoon during everyone's activities
  • Can this juice be recommended as an All Day Vape: No

Overall average (excluding packaging) of the Vapelier for this juice: 4.05 / 5 4.1 5 out of stars

My mood ticket on this juice

By remaining on the successful balance between a soft blond tobacco, finely woody and a hint of menthol, the Royal could have largely convinced beginners who come from the menthol cigarette. But I doubt that the additional sugar provided by the base will be able to convince them concretely.

We reach here a limit which would almost tend to push the liquid into a greedy category where yet it has nothing to do, the typical bitterness of tobacco being too drowned in the watered down deluge that remains in the mouth for a long time.

No doubt this liquid will seduce the greediest of first-time vapers but it will leave cold those who love the taste of tobacco and yet are his heart target.
