E-Phoenix is a star that shines in the firmament of the European High-End galaxy. The Swiss manufacturer in fact culminates at the peak of the category by introducing a massive dose of manual finishing for each of its atomizers, unlike its main German or Swiss competitors who have bet on an industrialization that is certainly controlled but less prestigious.
The brand offers us a test of its latest RDA, the Resurrection model V2, released a few months ago. Some of you will therefore find this review a little out of date, and we too by necessity. However, I will not shirk or sulk at my pleasure to find on my bench such a beautiful object that shines with all its fires under the harsh light of my desk lamp.
The price shines, too, by a three-digit number, price of exclusivity, a hand-finished finish and a taste quality that we hope to meet the challenge. However, the most clever of vapers will note that the price of the initial version, direct ancestor of our reference of the day, was even more imposing. There is therefore a better on this precise point and all the better for aficionados.

Reviewer's comments on physical characteristics and perceived quality
Rarely will an atomizer have presented so well. Indeed, whatever the end by which it is taken, the Resurrection V2 shows an irreproachable aesthetic.
The top-cap is made of delrin and includes the drip-tip. Equipped with two impeccable joints, it closes a barrel in 316L stainless steel which has undergone a sandblasting treatment for an exceptional finish. We immediately notice a series of indentations that encircle the top of the barrel, creating an original design and helping to manipulate the machine.
Just below, a dividing line in 24K gold-plated brass signals the presence of a top of the same material, a discreet border which accentuates the precious aspect of the object, giving it almost the status of a jewelry product. It overlooks a black cylinder whose dark coating appears to be titanium sprayed on steel.
The whole is magnificent, both in the materials used and in the design. The CNC machining, irreproachable and of high flight, is perfect by a manual polishing which gives all its letters of nobility to the Resurrection V2.
The atypical 22.7mm diameter could be a problem for use on a tubular mod but the massive spread of “box” formats will avoid this pitfall for most of us. Discreet and very fine engravings remind us of the name of the brand, the serial number and that the dripper is made in Switzerland.
The tray, as said before is gold-plated brass 24K. It has three editing posts, a positive center and two negatives placed on both sides. A strange choice and especially a little anachronistic. Indeed, this type of assembly has long since been supplanted by Velocity, clamp bridges and other postless trays. We imagine that the manufacturer has worked his score to make the flavors optimal, but at this stage, I am afraid that the ease of assembly does not suffer from this technical choice.
The bottom of the tank is slightly curved and shaped from 316L steel. The 7.5mm deep tank seems to be able to contain 1ml of e-liquid at most, which seems appropriate for a dripper which is presented primarily as a flavor-chaser.
The air flow circuit is also atypical. Indeed, the slots are high placed on the barrel and end in a stall which carries the air towards the bottom of the resistance. Astonishing but certainly a carrier of new sensations, I can't wait to see the concrete contribution of this type of offbeat airflow.
It remains to know that the Resurrection V2 can be mounted in single coil and in double coil, that the three airholes allow to manage these two types of assembly in the best way for an airflow that we can easily imagine aerial without excess and especially that the RDA is made to work as well in bottom feeder as traditionally thanks to a small clever manipulation that I will tell you in the next paragraph.

The Resurrection V2 is natively equipped with an extremely well thought-out bottom feeder functionality.
Indeed, there is no need here to replace the positive connection screw as is usually the case at the risk of gently dismantling the plate. The pine is indeed hollowed out to accommodate any filling device by the connection and benefits from an internal screw thread. Thus, to switch to normal power supply mode, all you have to do is screw a small supplied BTR screw into the hole provided for this purpose and our BF pin becomes, in a jiffy, a pin all that there is more. standard. It's simple but you had to think about it and, from memory, it is the first time that I have encountered this type of arrangement.
The liquid inlets in the tank is made through two holes drilled in the central positive pin and take advantage of the curved bottom to retain the liquid and guide it naturally to the cotton you have installed there. Another clever device which shows that the study of the dripper was well done so that the bottom feeding functionality can be used easily and without a hitch.
The airflow, as previously mentioned, is atypical since the slots are not in front of the coils but the air flow is directed towards the bottom of the resistors by an overflow made under the openings. The air intakes are adjustable and allow a great influence on the draft, which will remain airy at its maximum but not comparable with that of other much more open drippers. This fits perfectly with the philosophy of the tool which is more focused on rendering flavors than chasing clouds.
You have the possibility to put, according to your choice and your type of vape, a montage in simple or double coil. The tri-post platter allows it with the central positive surrounded by two negative posts. However, the relative smallness of the plateau will not allow mountings of large diameters. 3mm inner diameter in single wire, 2.5mm in complex wire.
Two very different top-caps are provided in the packaging: the first offers a dome that ends with the drip-tip. It is devoted to double coil assemblies and has a sufficient height to centralize the flavors and allow good air circulation to cool the coils. The second top-cap is the one that you will install if you stay in single coil. It benefits from a chamber reducer in order to close the slots reserved for the use in double coil and to cause a narrowing of the space more favorable to the taste expression. Its installation is childish but the airflow adjustment is a bit complex because the visibility through the slit is hampered by the overflow system. Don't panic, we quickly find our bearings.

The drip-tips are one with the top-caps and are therefore inseparable from them. You will not have, therefore, the possibility of adapting a tip of your choice.
However, the delrin used is very pleasant in the mouth and has a positive impact on the cooling of the dripper. The shape is very ergonomic, the tip is short and the internal diameter of 7mm corresponds well to the taste purpose of the atomizer. So there is nothing to complain about, the choices are wise.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning
Consisting of a rigid white cardboard printed with the brand's coat of arms and comprising, in addition to the atomizer and its second top-cap, a bag of spares made up of three seals, two spare BTR screws, the famous screw to hide the bottom feeder pin and two tightening wrenches, the packaging is quite correct… for a product at 30 €.
If we take into account the high price of the Resurrection V2, we may regret the commoner aspect at all, the absence of any instructions, the absence of foam to accommodate the atomizer which brinquebale inside its poor box and the glaring lack of any form of elegance in this packaging that no Chinese manufacturer would dare to offer its customers for an entry-level product.
Sorry but any jewel requires a beautiful case and here, we are far from the account ... The fact that the dripper is delivered with a homemade e-liquid does not add anything to the aesthetic emptiness of its packaging and appears only as the supply of a sample to try to seduce the consumer for future purchases of liquid.

Reviewer's comments on the use of the product
The use of the product blows hot and cold and marks the limits of the conception of the Resurrection.
In cold spots, the assembly ... Lack of space, choice of the tri-post plate, the edges of the tank arriving above the clamping holes of the negative posts, everything seems to converge to make the assembly “complex” while others techniques were probably happier to simplify all that. Obviously, it's not that complicated in absolute terms. You just have to turn your coils upside down and the legs will find their way more easily. But, at a time when assemblies tend to become simpler and more intuitive, we find ourselves here a few years back and this could unsettle more than one.
Also in cold spots, use in double coil. Indeed, if the account is at the level of the released vapor, we remain in a rendering of flavors rather average and much lower than the tenors of the genre. What to ask the question of the usefulness of having created here a “versatile” dripper rather than an absolute single coil which would have allowed an easier assembly plate and would have been more “trendy” especially with regard to its price.
On the plus side, there is everything else and it's a lot.
When used in single coil, the Resurrection gives the full measure of its means. The flavors finally sharpen and become very interesting. Even if the atomizer does not reach the precision in the matter of certain competitors like the Hadali, the Narda or even the Flave, our dripper obtains excellent results and really assumes its role of flavor chaser.
The airflow is really very successful and allows to deliver a very textured, very white vapor that perfectly accompanies the taste experience. The vapor / taste ratio is almost perfect and positions the Resurrection on the podium of the category. A little less precise than its competitors, it opposes them with a compact, very solid and sensual vape, which makes the taste generated pay homage to the liquids used without peeling them.

The mood ticket of the reviewer
The results are more than positive, the score obtained is a reflection of it. We have indeed an RDA of inimitable invoice, endowed with an exemplary finish, beautiful to howl and perfectly suited in single coil to fulfill its role of hunter of flavors.
The fault is to have wanted to do too much and to offer a versatility that the Resurrection obviously does not have and that no one asks of it! It would have been more convincing, in my humble opinion, to make it a strict single-coil and to work around a more modern, simpler plate.
Indeed, in this configuration, our jeweler's dripper is quite convincing and could have been part of the current trend of a return to more flavors, more ease of assembly and less clutter of the tray for more efficiency. It is there that I awaited the Resurrection and it is there that it shows itself in its best light. What to dream of a V3 assuming its role and its status, retaining the magical texture of its vapor and incorporating packaging worthy of its rank.
