Eleaf offers us yet another version of its inevitable Istick: The Istick Basic. The latter is intended for real beginners, no adjustment and a Gs Air 2 clearomizer of great ease of use. The kit therefore offers a ready-to-vape set-up. A cheap, TPD ready starter kit that could be the final blow to ego kits.

This Istick Basic is presented as a box with an integrated atomizer, but in fact, the atomizer is housed in a housing of a little more than 14mm in diameter. In the kit is the GS Air 2. To connect the atomizer you will find two adapters, a 510 and an ego. Indeed, this box offers a brand new magnetic connection and the two tips allow you to mount clearomizers with a diameter of 14mm.

The box is shaped like a drop, the widest part measures 23mm. Compact and light, these measurements are ideal for on-the-go use.
In terms of finishes we are facing an Istick which benefits from the usual treatment of the range. An anodized aluminum body that offers no less than 5 colors. The only button, the fire is as usual a little loose in its enclave.

The magnetic connection holds perfectly but the atomizer will tend to move sideways within the limit of its housing which is a little unpleasant, you will have to consider a system with adhesive tape for example to wedge it.
The GS Air 2 is therefore 14 mm in diameter, it is made of stainless steel and pyrex, can carry 2 ml of liquid and uses GS resistors of any type, except TC resistors.

This Istick Basic presents well, its simplicity and its size are the two strong points, of course the finish can be improved but the quality / price ratio remains correct.

Reviewer's comments on functional features

There is not much to say on this point. The Istick Basic behaves like a simple ego battery. 5 clicks and we shoot, no adjustment, we will vary its power of vape according to the value of the chosen resistance.

The charge level of the 2300mah Li-Po battery is indicated by a led system whose light signals vary with the amount of energy remaining, between 100 and 60 the light remains fixed a few moments after the puff, then it flashes and the frequency of this signal will accelerate in a manner inversely proportional to the load level. It is the same system as on the eGo One. The system is correct but not very precise, on the other hand where it is practical is that the lighting provided by this led illuminates the tank and allows you to see its liquid level even in the dark.
The GS Air 2 is also simple, it offers an air flow adjustment ring which allows a large range of air supply adjustments to the resistance, we go from tight to a fairly airy Vape, so this allows you to develop your vape over the first months of a vaper's experience without buying another product.
It is therefore indeed a starter kit, as easy to use as an eGo type starter kit.

Reviewer's comments on conditioning

Nothing to say the kit is complete, well presented in a colored cardboard box and in our case dressed in a sheath for the end of the year celebrations. This is the usual Eleaf packaging. In the kit, the box, the atomizer two resistors of 0,75 ohm and the USB cord. As always, a notice in French will give you all the information you need to use this product. I only have two complaints about the supplied accessories, I would have liked a resistance beyond the ohm, because I find that starting with a 0,75 will not suit everyone. Second claim, it would have been opportune to find a wall adapter for recharging, it is a product for beginners ready to vape so the targeted customers do not have this kind of equipment and they could be tempted to use any which USB compatible charger which can sometimes damage the box.

Appreciations in use

  LIistick Basic is easy to use, you fill the tank, you start the resistance and it vapors. The box is ideally compact and discreet, its autonomy is very correct. The magnetic connection holds great and frankly it's super practical.
  It is therefore an ideal starter kit, no headaches and that's a big asset.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Here is this new starter kit proposed by Eleaf. It's very successful, the box is easy to use and the atomizer supplied with it works perfectly. The power of the vape will depend on the resistance value chosen and according to my feelings with 0,75 ohm we turn around 20 watts, this is also why I advise beginners to buy at the same time coils in 1,4 ohm to start, because the 0,75 still sends a little too much for a first-time vapoteur.
The small qualitative defects are quickly forgotten in view of the quality / price / vape ratio. Once again I find Eleaf hits the nail on the head and this kit is the perfect gift for these holiday season, for those who have decided to convert loved ones.
